Great service and assortment of medications. They carry many foreign OTCs that other pharmacies don't.

So in all transparency, I'm rating this as a supermarket with food options, rather than just for…read morethe hot bar itself (even though that's all I sampled), which would be a 4.5. As other reviews can attest, this supermarket has all of your favorite Soviet-style products. As I was about to travel home, I did not have, for instance, any of the many variety of herrings. Instead, I went to the famous hot bar to get some snacks for my flight--kebabs or plov wouldn't travel well, so I basically used it as a bakery. The pumpkin samsa was excellent. It was a bit worse for wear as the outside was no longer crispy, but the flakiness shows how good it must have been. The pumpkin filling was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The next day, I had a spinach qutab, which I reheated on a cast-iron. It wasn't quite as good as made-fresh, but you could tell how good the crust would have been, and how fresh the spinach still was. Given that trays of food kept coming out as I was browsing, I think this is as good as a buffet gets--it's limited only by the fact that it's a grocery store buffet/hot bar.

Are you kidding me? This must be one of the nicest supermarkets I've ever been too…read more Their hot food selection along is worth the trip - samsas, kashapuri, you name it, they have it. Their food is delicious. Their hot and cold bar, it should be noted, are spotless and so clean. We love going there. Make a destination out of getting food there and then eat it on the Brighton Beach boardwalk while you people watch.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE ravioli! I came here after a doctor's appointment in the area, looking to…read morepick up something to make for dinner later that day. Upon arrival, the front door was locked, but if you ring the bell in the front, they'll buzz you right in. A woman came out from the back right away and helped me promptly. When you walk in, it's like you've been transported somewhere else. It's an adorable little shop with a freezer full of fresh ravioli in a variety of flavors, as well as fresh tortellini. They have a wide selection of other items as well, shelves and shelves full of imported dry pastas, as well as sauces, jarred vegetables, and more. It very much reminded me of Italy! I ended up buying the 12 pack of spinach ravioli for $7.99, and a container of tomato and basil sauce for $5.99. Perfect for two servings- and since I live on my own, I was able to get two meals out of it, which ultimately ended up being pretty cheap! When I finally got around to preparing my dinner, I taste tested the sauce as it was heating up in my saucepan. It's so simple with so few ingredients, but it was out of this world delicious. It worked perfectly with the hot and cheesy ravioli- the most perfect comfort food! Even though the store is pretty far from my apartment (I live in a different neighborhood) I will absolutely be coming back for more! I've missed being able to buy fresh made pasta, and this ravioli is particularly to die for. Looking forward to trying them with other fillings as well! Just thinking about that ravioli makes me want it again- so, run, don't walk to this spot!

On an idle Thursday evening, I muttered to myself, "I feel like having carbonara." The boyfriend…read moregoes, "You want some now?" I said, "Nah..." He follows up with, "How about now?" I went, "No..." He persists with, "What about now?" And I finally said, "Tomorrow, cuz we don't have the meat." Just to be clear, we have bacon, but not THE meat. What meat you wonder? The one and only, guanciale*. I went to bed but one question nagged me, "Where the heck am I going to find that dang guanciale around here??" The next day, I was wandering about the Italian neighborhoods in hopes of finding the mystical meat. I was just about to give up on my search but who ends up calling out my name? Oh, Dairy Maid, you milky temptress, how dare you carry about yourself so deliciously?? The enticing exterior with its time-soaked sign and the intoxicating interior with its well-stocked shelves was a pure joy for my thirsty eyes but what knocked me head over heels is when I asked, "Do you have guanciale?" and you answered, "Yes." The rest, as they say, is history. * = No insult to bacon or pancetta but if you have ever tried guanciale, you will know why you want it so bad!
