I discovered Travis quite by accident when a friend recommended that I see him at his studio at Salon Lofts, along Dale Mabry in Carrollwood, in the little strip mall in front of Lowe's. I was tired of getting shaved by the neighborhood buzz and clip shops, and she recommended that I visit an actual stylist and get some suggestions for a nicer haircut. That's what brought me into see Travis for the first time, and I've been back to see him several times. Travis has been a stylist for about 12 years, and as I recall, he received intense training by Lorèal Professional, Pureology and at Redken Exchange in New York. In addition to maintaining his "chair" at Salon Lofts, Travis also works as an Artistic Educator for Pureology and Lorèal Professional. All of this means that you'll be working with a real professional who is always seeking to learn more about the latest trends in coloring, cutting and styling hair. He's been able to help me grow my hair out a bit more (what little of it that I still have), and gives me a very professional cut that manages to stay in place without a bunch of sprays, goops and gels to hold it down. We have a standing joke that whatever he cuts off he has to glue back on top of my head, and Travis just grins and rolls his eyes while keeping up his banter, and news about his family. Never has there been an instance of "Why is my hair this color?!" Also, my hair has never fallen out under his care, which is saying a LOT since I have very fine, very fragile locks.
