The OBGYN clinic at Virginia Mason have become my gold standard. I've lived in and out of the Seattle area many times and one of the strangest and most unexpected "highlights" about living back in the Seattle area is knowing that I've got a great providers at this clinic. I stared seeing Deborah Fiscus several years ago on the recommendation of a friend, and have been very happy in her care. She's an AARNP, and any issues that have gone beyond her scope have been handled well in the care of Dr. Rothblatt. They're both fantastic; professional, caring and the kinds of people I feel comfortable entrusting with my health. I've never had any problems with scheduling, getting lab results, getting answers when I need them, or communicating with the clinic staff. In other words, not only are the providers of high caliber, but the clinic itself is well managed and professional. It wasn't until I started moving around, and experiencing health care in other cities that I realized just how good I had it at Seattle's Virginia Mason (that's right Orange County and Washington, DC, I'm talking to you!). So-- if you need a great women's health provider, I'd highly recommend Deborah Fiscus and/or Dr. Alan Rothblatt at Virginia Mason.

I had a specific injury and already knew the diagnosis and the treatment plan; I was there to discuss my bone scan, my overall bone structure and specific joint issues. I wanted a wholistic evaluation. He came in, looked at my scan, looked at my foot (I had a walking boot on; obvious injurY), and said, "Yes, you have a stress fracture. Come back in 6 weeks for an evaluation." I explained that I knew about my foot, and that was not my concern, and started to explain what I wanted from that visit. He completely ignored my concerns. He kept cutting me off, and told me that my concerns were irrelevant and when I insisted that we review my scans, one by one, he said that he has other patients to see. I was in there for 15 minutes! He also took my questions and continued concerns as a personal insult and spent more time talking about his expertise and education than he spent on my scans/pain. He said that he didn't care for bone scans or MRIs and felt that examining the patient was a better approach. He took a look at my legs and said, "I don't see any leg length discrepancy"--when I had provided x-ray results with measurements showing a 1cm discrepancy in my femur. When I brought it up, he interrupted with "It doesn't matter." Just absurd! He also touched me a lot; I had shorts on and he kept touching my thigh and my arms and saying things like, "Now, young lady..." It was the most ridiculous, dreadful medical professional experience I have ever EVER had. WORST.

He was too old to qualify for mine and his new job benefits don't kick in for awhile. An ER trip, a cast and a little bit later and he had his follow up appointment here. Initially, they refused to see him without payment, in full, up front. After a second referral from Evergreen Hospital and a week went by, they agreed to just the new patient fee and a payment towards any total cost. The visit was about an hour, he lost the cast, was given exercises and stretches, a release to limited-duty work and an appointment in two weeks to see how he heals. He seems satisfied, if not bewildered by the medical bills he'll now have, but thought he received good care and respectful treatment from Dr. Boyer. Firstborn is ok, and that's what matters most to Mom.

Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, she is professional, and extremely personable. She genuinely cares about people and takes pride in her work. You hit the jackpot if she is your first contact as she was my husband's who called the facility on my behalf to research the level of skill and credentials at Axis because I had been to a previous PT who only has two Masters degrees so was not a DPT. After several months, I left without success and physically worse off. I was weary and leery of starting anew. I made the right choice going to Axis because every DPT is highly credentialed and I improved! If you have a lot of questions or concerns regarding this facility and staff, be assured they will help you. Everyone I encountered was very well trained. I had the best aide I have ever had! I do not exaggerate. Her name is Kat. She is currently working toward a Doctorates in Physical Therapy. Her degrees are in Kinesiology and Psychology which make her an excellent aide! Once she receives her DPT her talent will soar as she will combine her knowledge of kinesiology and psychology. As an aide, she had the education of how important proper body mechanics and movement is for pain relief and pain management as our limitations affect all areas of life. Kat is very professional and has more knowledge than any PTA that has ever helped me. She knew how to help me without hesitation. I felt vey confident in her ability. Axis is very accommodating. I asked to work with a female. I worked with two female DPTs, Lia and Jessica. Axis has two DPTs work together, alternating sessions, to make sure they have a more complete understanding of a patient's needs and condition each bringing their own expertise. I was uncomfortable at first because I had only worked with one DPT or PT. I didn't understand why two different people were working with me. They were both very different and very helpful. Two people have better eyes on a patient than one. I had no strength in my transverse abdominal muscles when I first started. I went twice a week and was very vigilant with my home exercises. To my surprise I improved very fast! Axis Physical Therapy is very well run and the staff are a very friendly team.

She looks so sweet, but brought the pain. It was awful, seriously. I had bruises constantly on that leg/ankle area. As she promised, if I stuck with it, I'd be able to avoid surgery and it would help. I trusted her, got through the pain. Followed her home exercises and 6 months later I'm feeling a lot better. I'd recommend her and the staff to anyone looking for quality physical therapy, not a pill to numb the pain.
