I would like to dedicate my 500th review to a travel company for young professionals, a small business that truly did handle itself with fairness and grace during times of uncertainty and fear. I booked not 1, but 2 trips with Travendly at the beginning of the year before COVID took the world by storm. I was SO looking forward to my travels and meeting new people. Unfortunately, my first trip got cancelled due to the virus but I learned a few things about this company during these trying times, so I'd like to shine a spotlight on them. 1. Their itineraries are EXTREMELY organized, and all of the details of your trip are made available to you in an app. There's also a WhatsApp group where you can communicate with other solo travelers who will be joining you. 2. The coordinator was extremely helpful in consolidating all of my info - arrival and departure flights, travel insurance, other forms. I also found her to be very responsive to emails which was very reassuring. 3. You get to virtually "meet" the group you are traveling with beforehand so that when you do meet up, it's like seeing an old friend vs. meeting someone for the first time. Even though my trip was cancelled, I was able to make a friend to travel with in the future. A little silver lining to these uncertain times. 4. Travel credits with the company are valid for a long time and transferrable to any of their trips, so I don't feel like my $ is lost. I also don't feel locked in to 2020 which is still basically up in the air. So no, I have not yet traveled with the company just yet, but I will in the future, and I'd like to give them a solid shoutout for being awesome during this whole thing. I am usually not one for group travel because it often comes with long amounts of time waiting around and subpar planning. I often felt like I need to travel alone to ensure that I experience everything. Travendly's Morocco trip completely changed my perception of this! Travendly is for people who truest love to travel and want as much adventure as possible, rather than just resting in the hotel room. Every part of the Travendly trip was impeccably planned and amazing. The tour guide Ali G was unbelievably knowledgeable and willing to answer any question we have. He also was committed to providing us with an amazing experience and kept great track of timing to make sure we always saw everything planned for the day. The schedule for Morocco was also perfect. It is planned so well from the places we see to the places we stop for lunch and restroom in between. No one leaf was left unturned. Even the often long bus trips between stops were stunning and majestic in Morocco's very diverse landscape. Travendly also attracts a great crowd of co-travelers. My Morocco trip had 7 girls and I definitely see myself having long friendships with every one of them. The crowd that Travendly attracts is super professional and kind and committed to making the trip as positive as it can get. If you use Travendly for the Morocco trip, you will definitely have the experience of a lifetime. This trip has been my most memorable travel experience so far and I am hoping to have many more with this company. I was a little hesitant when I first found Travendly because I had never traveled with a group like this before, but after reading some reviews I booked a trip to Croatia. I can't explain how amazing this trip was. Travendly is very organized and made me feel super prepared going in. Our travel guide, Antonia, was AMAZING! As a Croatia native, she was super knowledgeable about the country and its history but also was able to have fun with us during our free time. I was worried to join a travel group as I am not the type of traveler to have a perfectly scheduled trip. I would much rather go with the flow and would absolutely HATE a "get on and off a bus" kind of trip. This was far from it. Everyday we had a basic outline of what was on the schedule for the day. You were able to sign up for excursions or just have free time to explore or just relax if you'd rather. Every evening we had a group dinner reservation and some gelato.. maybe the 2nd or 3rd of the day lol I highly recommend the Croatia trip. It was so beautiful! We went in September which was the end of the summer tourist season, which was great! The weather was amazing and the cities weren't super crowded. I did the Cuba trip with Travendly and can't recommend it enough! We got to see the best of Cuba and did so much in just a few days! The trip was really well planned; every day was fun. And they took care of all the logistics for Cuba travel which would have challenging and super time consuming to figure out on your own. I enjoyed everything in the itinerary-- the classic car ride, walking around picturesque Havana and hearing about the history, cooking a traditional meal with our group, our trip to a tobacco farm, and especially all the cool art we saw during our time there. Our casa accommodation was great- clean, with attentive staff and a cute patio where we had group breakfasts. Our group leader and tour guides, Javier and Lianne, were both fantastic. They were so knowledgeable and personable, passionate about their country and making sure we experienced all the beautiful things Cuba had to offer. They were also a lot of fun to hang out with! Javier was constantly working and went above and beyond, making sure everyone in our group was always taken care of and having fun. What was also cool was how immersive the experience was. I loved doing cultural activities like going to an authentic market and gathering fresh food before we cooked a family style meal (complete with mojitos!). You really got to see what life's like there, meet so many great locals, and learn so much from them. Normally when I travel I'm surrounded by other tourists and we're all doing touristy things. This felt like having local friends in Cuba who showed you around their country, recommended local places they actually went to and enjoyed (and we enjoyed delicious food at all the restaurants they took us to!). It was really easy to make friends with the other travelers too. I loved everyone in my group, our small group very quickly became friends, and I also liked that we were all in the same age group. I was sad when the trip came to an end, but we're talking about having a reunion in the middle of where we all live! I would definitely travel with Travendly again! read more

Updated review: Yes, I once gave Travendly 3 stars after my Peru trip this past spring, but now I am changing my review to Travendly to 5 stars What Changed: I just did a super-stellar 6 days in Iceland with Travendly over New Year's, and I experienced the glory of Travendly when the stars align. David - our guide was simply a one-man Seal Team 6 of travel guides (and I have had probably had over 50+). 1. magician of travel logistics - curating a bespoke adventuring experience that adjusted to the realities of unpredictable weather to make sure we saw, tasted, and hiked as much of Iceland's glory as was maximally fun, but without us ever feeling uncomfortably rushed. 2. He was also a social wizard, rallying us to get excited about every day with bonding experiences, funny stories, and team building activities. He set the tone throughout the trip that this was about enjoying the beauty of Iceland + bonding with each other. 3. He really made himself present and available to share knowledge about his country (native Icelander) via thrilling conversations and memorable jokes - making every minute fun. 4. He was able to manage all the different personalities and make sure we were all engaged without stepping on other people's experiences. 5. Winning personality + great driving skills My fellow travelers we also overall delightful! They were all very positive and delightfully friendly with an eager desire for the Icelandic experience. Never did it ever get mean or hyper-competitive (especially with an Instagram arms race Armageddon that I have seen challenge some group traveling). It was simply marvelous to see the many different fishes of our group (model couple, party couple, team giggles, world explorer, the photographer, social explorers, and ultimate friends with everyone) really bond and come together under the New Year's Eve fireworks. What Still Could be Improved: I do wish that for the extraordinarily athletic and rugged trip that Iceland is, more effort could have been done to screen travelers' actual understanding of the nature of the trip upfront. I respect and appreciate a traveler trying to go for an athletic and outdoor exploration challenge. However, it was distracting to have a traveler who was completely out of depth for outdoor activity and group movement that so much time was spent on worrying about the person's well-being. It was like watching a kid ski for the first time. Luckily, our super tour guide managed the situation really well. Overall: Travendly does a terrific job of spinning the right ingredients together for a super fun social experience with some adventures. The guide really makes or breaks the event and in the case of Iceland, the guide elevated it to the stratosphere. I went on the Iceland summer trip and LOVED it. From beginning to end, Travendly gave me nothing but good things to say. I was hesitant to travel internationally 'solo' (you're with a group once you get there), but it's so worth it. If you want to be adventurous but don't want to full-on travel by yourself, Travendly is your company.  Aaaand here's all my thoughts for those of you who like extra detail.. Booking: They have you fill out a quick bio when you 'apply' which I learned isn't always something other companies do. It's real low-key but helps ensure that the people you may be spending a week in a foreign country with (and you) are going to make your trip worthwhile. Interest-free payment plans are available and made the burden of paying for an international trip lighter. We did a Google Hangouts session before leaving to meet each other and go over any random questions we had. Also had a group text that we're still using post-trip to keep in touch.  Getting there: You book your own flights, so it's flexible as to when you want to arrive, what extra excursions you want to do, and what your budget is. I was the last to land in Iceland but everything was perfectly coordinated for me to get into town from the airport and meet up with everyone else.  Being there: I may have gotten lucky, but I absolutely loved our group. We only had a group of 4 but I think they could be as large as 14 depending on the trip. Got rooming assignments (2 to a room with our own beds) but really, spent most of our time out, seeing all there was to see. Wasn't an issue with our group but they have a cute 'No Drama Policy' to remind everyone that we're all here to make friends and have fun! It was so relaxing to just go along with the itenerary that's put together by Travendly and not have to coordinate my own transportation, activities, or housing.  Leaving: NOOOOOO! Again, if you have any questions about getting to the airport or need suggestions for things to do, your guide is with you full-time and is a great resource.  Bonus: getting to know Jon, the Founder/CEO was a perk and let me tell you. Just returned from the 5 day Cuba trip, and it was hands down the most amazing experience. The itinerary was extremely well planned - never felt rushed and had plenty of time to soak in the surroundings at each stop. It was the perfect mix of food, culture, art, and immersing oneself with the locals and local culture. During the weeks leading up to the trip, the Travendly family was professional and quick to respond to every email, with detailed responses to every question. They went out of their to accommodate unexpected complications caused by bad weather in Florida, resulting in most everyone's arrival being delayed. The situation was so well handled that even with the weather hiccup, the entire experience was seamless. During the trip, I simply don't have the words to express how amazing our guides were. Samara is an absolute rock star - exploding with positive energy and enthusiasm! You can't help but feel genuinely happy and excited when around her. Roberto, our local guide, was very knowledgeable, so easy to get along with that you feel like you've known him for ages, and hilarious! I had 3 cameras going during the trip! lots of videos from the GoPro too. Between the 80 mph winds, snow drifts closing roads, and many hours in the van, there were some incredible pockets for these amazing pictures. We had the best guide for all the weather and itinerary changes with David. Each night was spent in a warm bed after a hot shower with a free breakfast in the morning, no matter how early the wake calls were. Just outstanding! read more

Morocco is a magical place. So many unexpected surprises ... the people, the food, the landscape. Just an amazing experience. This is my second trip (1st was to Thailand) and I cannot day enough about the fantastic planning by Travendly and the true attention to detail and the traveler experience. This is not your run of the mill tour, and you visit and stay in the most amazing places that have been thought out and thoughtfully planned. Trip highlights for me were Fes - amazing stay in the Médina in a magical hotel. Beautiful market place and fantastic experience with a Moroccan scrub and spa experience. Voulibis - beautiful agricultural town THE SAHARA - there is nothing like this experience. Riding camels in the dunes watching the sunset from the tippity top dune, beautiful pool, sleeping in the Berber tents and the most amazing view of your life. Further, I just want to note that the people on these trips are like-minded, smart, educated and independent and truly add to your experience. Do not book with Travendly. I had a trip to Greece scheduled with this company for the Summer of 2022. I had paid in full. I had my flights booked, and three weeks before I was supposed to leave for the trip, they canceled it out of nowhere. They had never indicated that the trip could be canceled. They gave me a refund, but that still left me with non refundable air fare three weeks before the trip. They left us totally high and dry. It's a terrible way to treat customers who have been planning an international trip for months. Don't book with this company unless you want there to be a chance they cancel on you 3 weeks out. read more

My eyes are open. I am wrapping up a 5 day trip in Belize. We enjoyed snorkeling with sharks, manta rays, eating amazing Caribbean food, and dancing the night away. Our vivacious and free spirited, fearless leader, Samara, introduced us to some locals and was extremely helpful. She made the trip very memorable. We had our New Years party on a roof top bar, VIP section, facing the beach. This experience will be hard to beat! Everyone had a great time and I highly HIGHLY recommend Travendly.com. I just got back from my fourth trip with Travendly. All of my previous trips were pre-covid and fantastic. I was extremely nervous to travel to another country again, trying to manage the entry logistics back home and just covid overall and wanted my first trip overseas to be with a company that I trusted. Just as I remembered, everything was extremely well organized and surpassed my expectations. Any questions I had were answered promptly. They even organized the testing requirement in order to get back into the US. This trip, Portugal (9 day), was a great mix of sightseeing and tours and relaxation. After a whirlwind of city, three days at the beach were exactly what the doctor ordered. Our tours were all organized and very well run. It is the perfect blend of "show up here" and free time in case you want to explore on your own. I have to 100 percent shout out our local guide, Kriszti. I went on my first Travendly trip to Iceland over New Year's and had an incredible, unforgettable experience. The trip really allowed for a chance to see the beauty of Iceland, satisfy a craving for adventure, and connect with people in a way that all felt very seamless. Highlights were definitely the glacier hike and seeing the Northern Lights. It was so comforting knowing we had a guide to show us around, do the driving, be in charge of the timing of the trip, and be of assistance in the case of any unexpected snags. It helped that our guide David was incredibly fun and personable, which really amplified everyone's experience. You can tell that the itinerary of the trip has been carefully thought out and refined over time. Having booked the trip just a month before leaving, I found the packing list and ability to ask questions beforehand extremely helpful. I traveled with a close friend of mine, but the trip is easily set up to go by yourself and feel very much a part of the group. We enjoyed bonding with the group in van rides, excursions, group dinners, and lodging that facilitated spending time together in the evenings. The size of the group (13 plus the guide) was perfect for having plenty of different personalities to connect with, but not being so large that you get lost in the crowd. If you're considering traveling with Travendly - JUST BOOK IT! I went on the Iceland Northern lights trip over New Year's and had an incredible and fulfilling experience. The itinerary was well curated, hitting on all the highlights I wanted to see in Iceland (waterfalls, glacier hike, lagoons, northern lights). Travendly does an amazing job preparing you ahead of your trip (packing list, tips, overall guidance, itineraries, traveler bios - all super organized) which means you can enter your vacation relaxed, knowing you're in good hands. We maximized a ton of activities/sights in the short windows of daylight yet somehow never felt rushed. A highlight of traveling with Travendly is all the different people you'll meet. Our group consisted of 13 unique personalities where everyone was respectful, positive and got along well - it was amazing to cap off the experience together in Reykjavik for New Year's eve. My husband and I went on the Iceland Northern Lights tip over New Year's and had a wonderful time! The trip was perfectly organized and guided to see as much of the country as possible without being overwhelmed. The sights we saw were absolutely beautiful and we were given plenty of time at each stop to enjoy them. Spending New Year's Eve in Reykjavik was the perfect ending to the trip - the city goes all out with fireworks and bonfires and it was incredible to see in person! Our guide, David, was the best. He did a great job of giving us an understanding of the sites and Iceland history without ever boring us. He was so friendly and helpful - couldn't have asked for a better guide. This was our first group travel trip and we weren't too sure what to expect. However, we were extremely pleased with our group - everyone got along wonderfully and the new friendships truly added to the overall experience. Truly one of the best travel experiences of my life!!!! I traveled to Thailand March 2018 and an unbelievable experience. This was my first group solo travel experience and I cannot express how fantastic this trip was. Travendly does such a fantastic job from start to finish. I loved this trip so much I will be traveling with Travendly again in March 2019 to Morocco. The Thailand trip is a trip of a lifetime. Our guides (1 from Thailand one from the U.S.) were phenomenal. Oi, our Thai guide was the sweetest and most attentive person I could have imagined. Not only does she have an amazing knowledge of the history and culture of Thailand, she is fun, energetic and goes out of her way on a daily basis to make sure everyone is taken care of. I have a true admiration for "Oi" Naphat Oi Pradubsri and will have a lifelong connection with her for sure!!! The trip itself just seemed to get better and better each day. My favorite part was definitely swimming with the elephants. We visited a sanctuary that takes in retired elephants, and we spent time feeding, them, walking them, and then literally SWIMMING with them. The guides kept this a secret and we were all extremely excited that this was part of trip!!! Truly amazing. I cannot say enough about this Thailand trip, our guides, and Travelendly, which is why I did not hesitate a second to book my second trip. After seeing a FaceBook ad pop up for Travendly I took a leap and booked a trip to Iceland. I went 12/6-12/12. It exceeded all my expectations to say the least! Iceland was such an amazing place but what made it a wonderful experience was how well everything was planned out. The communication leading up the trip was excellent and paying for everything was simple. I knew when I arrived everything was all set and I just needed to enjoy myself and stay warm! I could never have planned out such a jam-packed itinerary that enabled us to see all the sights, while having two guides with us the entire time ensuring everything was perfect. Jon, the owner of Travendly was our guide and he is the best! Even before the trip started he was already communicating regarding adjusting our itinerary to be able to maximize our likelihood of seeing the Northern Lights. He really knows his stuff and his photography skills were amazing! I didn't have to worry about capturing the lights but now have pictures I am having blown up for my home! The local guide, Hallie was quite a character and made for a very entertaining time. He knew all the sites and how to get us up close and personal to really experience all the beauty. He was able to take us inside an ice cave and right up to a beautiful waterfall. My favorite part was that we were always on the move but that I could relax in between stops (sometimes a quick catnap). I feel like my time there was 100% maximized and I left seeing everything I wanted to and more. We were never rushed and it was always so thoughtful as to what we would be seeing and where we would be for sunset, which was around 4pm! The combination of Jon and Hallie was perfect. Travendly made sure that all accommodations were clean and the itinerary was well mapped out. I am so happy I decided to take this solo trip, everyone was so friendly and we all had the same level of enthusiasm, which I believe made for a great trip! Overall, I had an amazing time which was the goal and I had to very little pre-planning and everything was all set. The price was fair and I felt that I made the right decision to go with Travendly. I just arrived back from the Iceland Northern Light trip and I highly, highly recommend a) this trip and b) Travendly. This experience delivered everything I wanted (clean and comfortable accommodation, well planned itinerary, like minded group of people to travel with and new experiences) and things I didn't know I needed so much (an AMAZING person and tour guide Jessica, new friends and so so much laughter). The whole experience was very well organized, from the meet and greet before the trip, to the first meal on the trip, to photo sharing and connections after the trip. I always felt very well taken care of. A great package and excellent value. If you have Jessica as your tour guide you are sure to have a fantastic trip. There are not enough superlatives in the English language (or Spanish, for that matter) to give appropriate kudos to the Travendly staff and the 5-day Cuba trip. First off, the preparation for the trip was second to none. The information provided by Travendly in documents and in conversation with Jessica, our AMAZING guide, was so helpful. Tips like downloading offline maps on our phones, the best currency to bring, or reminders to bring baby wipes were all incredibly useful (and spot-on!). Second, the group of travelers put together by Travendly was fantastic. I'm not sure if anyone got turned down for this trip, but the 5 of us women who were on it together meshed very well and had a great time together. Third, the trip itself was packed top-to-bottom with amazing experiences and beautiful sights. Nothing like taking a ride in a classic convertible around Havana, eating an amazing lunch with a stunning view in Vinales, or, my personal favorite, learning how to make mojitos and classic Cuban cuisine in Cojimar (with an extra side of rum). Finally, Jessica and Jordan (our fantastic Cuban guide) make an amazing team. The atmosphere they generated together, along with all of our amazing Cuban hosts along the way, made this trip truly special. Each and every person we encountered worked tirelessly to make sure each traveler was getting everything she could out of this trip. From rolling with last minute schedule changes, to adding on extra experiences, to just pumping up the atmosphere a little more, I could not have asked for better leadership on this (or any!) trip. TL;DR: Travendly is amazing. Cuba is beautiful. Jessica is trip leader goals. Just book the trip, you won't regret it. read more

Our guide was phenomenal and the itinerary was well thought out and planned. Everything leading up to and during the trip was seamless. I got to meet really great people who quickly became friends, and learn so much about the culture and history of the sacred valley. I recommend anyone mid to late 20s and older to look into a trip with Travendly if you want to travel solo or with a friend and want a stress free and rewarding experience. read more

Just returned from a 9 day 8 night Greece island hopping trip led by Jon, our group leader and owner of Travendly. To say I had an amazing time is an understatement. As a first time solo traveler, I was a bit nervous to go on this trip on my own, but I found that my group was more than prepared for everything we'd encounter in Greece. We received PDF files on our itinerary, what to pack, what bars/restaurants we'd be interested in... etc. Everything was planned out seamlessly by Jon with enough flexibility to change it up if we chose to do so. He emphasized that it was "our trip" and made sure to check in on us individually to make sure our experience was great and to our expectations. Jon was always laid back and fun, but also knowledgeable and professional. Over all, I was looking for a tour company where I wasn't with a younger crowd drinking and partying all day/night. Furthermore, I also didn't want to be with an older crowd that I might not have much in common with. Travendly offered a happy medium. I liked that there was an application process that placed me with travelers that had similar expectations/interests. I also loved the small groups (there was 8 of us on our trip) because we all became super close by the end. Most of all, I love that we all live within the tri-state area which means I may have developed life-long friendships with people right around the corner from me. :) We were able to sightsee, eat delicious food, have a relaxing time on the beach, enjoy the nightlife and even hike a mountain. I just got back from Travendly's 9 day trip to Croatia and I have to say it was a trip of a lifetime! And here are the reasons why..... 1) The people - Travendly held an in person orientation a month before the trip where participants met one another and were able to share their expectations about the trip. The conversations continued on a Whats App group chat, allowing us to become further acquainted. My group used the chat frequently so we were able to hit the ground running once we arrived in Croatia. Our first dinner felt as if we had been friends already for awhile filled with laughter and inside jokes. We continue to speak on the group chat and have begun planning several get-togethers. I was skeptical about only traveling with only 6 other people, but Travendly did a great job of vetting the young professionals for this the trip. The small group meshed so well and we really got to know each other better than on many other trips I've taken in the past with more people through Contiki. 2) Activities - At the end of the trip we all tried to pick our favorite activity but none of us could. Everyday seemed perfect from start to finish. The activities were well planed, allowing time to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You always had a choice of what you wanted to do. For example, one day a few of us explored a new beach in Brac while, two others went to a monastery. Some of the highlights of the trip were: Kayaking - we stopped along the way to go snorkeling as well Wine tasting - paired with a light bite to eat Havr boating - we had a boat out for the day where we explored two caves and an amazing beach Exploring beaches - days spent tanning, swimming, doing yoga and playing volleyball Hula Hula club - A day Club at Havr where we enjoyed dancing on tables and watching the sun set Carpe Diem - a nightclub in Havr that's on its own private Island, WHAT?!? 3) Food-The quality of the meals were consistently high and highlighted the best that Croatia had to offer. We dined on fresh seafood, steak, pasta with truffles ETC. Even lunches of fresh pizza pies and baked goods for dessert (ones Jon surprised us with as a special treat) were spectacular. 4) Jon and his staff - I was definitely that person who emailed constantly before the trip, asking hundreds of questions. Jon and his staff were great at getting back to me and providing me with the support I needed to calm my nerves of being a solo traveler. Jon was my group leader and he was amazing, always smiling and providing a fun, calming presence to the group. Jon was able to alter our schedule when we wanted to change things up and had the ability to create a stress free environment. This company is Jon's baby and he really has perfected the art of group travel. I have already started talking with him about planning my next trip. I can't imagine traveling any other way in the near future! read more

Update in response to the owner's comment: The owner's comment about quick responses is incorrect. It took upwards of a week for them to reply to each of my emails and I had to follow up without hearing back on multiple occasions. From the other negative reviews, that appears to be a pattern for the owner if there's a complaint - which is so unprofessional. If there are no bed bug reports on Tripadvisor for the hotel we stayed at, that means they took mine down which is just shady. Figuring out the situation to the "best of their ability" was them telling me they're not liable, won't do anything to make up for my poor experience for their expensive service, and pointing me to their terms and conditions in case I missed the part about them not being liable. I don't see a point in emailing the company because if they were interested in helping me, they would have done so without waiting for me to write a yelp review. Referencing a review for a seperate company is completely irrelevant, and a little creepy. Having horrible experiences with 2 travel agencies doesn't mean group travel isn't a good fit for someone. It means both those companies did a bad job and don't want to take responsibility. It's important to me to leave honest feedback when companies that provide expensive services are simply not good so others don't spend their hard earned money in the wrong places. I booked a 5-day Cuba trip to Travendly and I must say that it really exceeded my expectations. The itinerary was very well planned, was also flexible and allowed some free time to yourself or to rest, and it also got better day by day as far as events and choices of restaurants. Jonathan & Alison are great at communication and are very open to all questions prior to the trip. Jeremy, our trip leader was very friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable. Upon my return, I highly suggested this specific trip to my friends and family. read more

Update: This is in response to Jon's comment on my review. Jon, you know very well who I am and that my review is real, which is why you took months to questions it's validity online and also blocked my profile from being able to view the Travendly instagram page. Don't try to unblock it now, I already have the screenshot. Not only is that completely unprofessional, it also proves a pattern as I see that other people have mentioned in their reviews that after expressing any opinion that you've deleted them from social media/Whatsapp groups. This is no way to run a business or effectively deal with constructive criticism. Do better. Original Review: I traveled to Greece with Travendly. Although, there are an abundance of five star reviews, I feel that it is important to provide an accurate and realistic portrayal of what I, along with other travelers on my trip, experienced with this program. First of all, the activities that were offered were misrepresented and incomplete, we received one or two lines descriptions for options that we were HIGHLY encouraged to purchase (in addition to the cost of the trip). There were alot of extra costs that weren't included in the cost of the trip, including transfer to and from hotels and certain recommended group activities, that turned out to cost extra. Mainly, the group leader was rude and highly unprofessional. Not only was she not professionally trained to led a group to a foreign country, she stated multiple times that she accepted the role as a last minute favor to the owner of the company, someone who was her friend. She said she was doing it for free. It was obvious that she not only had adequate group touring skills, she was also ill equipped to handle certain group dynamic situations, without resorting to pettiness. Multiple people noticed and commented on this. You were not allowed to rest when you wanted and there was a constant feeling of busing rushed because plans and itineraries were consistently being changed last minute. There seemed to be peer pressure (although we are all mature professionals) to participate in EVERY activity, even if there was no interest on your part. I have booked 2 trips with Travendly (so far), and have nothing but good things to say about this company. I love international travel, but hate the planning and logistics part of it all - Travendly takes care of all that! All you have to do is book your flights, arrive when they request, and you are in for a stress-free and amazing adventure with awesome fellow travelers! Communication before the trip is informative but never over-bearing, the tours are so interesting and fun, and the local guides on the trips are some of the best people you will ever meet. I went to my first trip with Travendly in late December 2019 / January 2020 to Argentina. This trip was excellent! I loved the variety of activities, culture and Patagonian hikes. I just returned from the 9 day (8 day with bonus day) to Cuba and I'm still thinking about all the amazing things we were able to do and the even more amazing people I was able to experience it with! When I travel I typically enjoy to plan my own trips, but going to a country like Cuba is more challenging so I was happy to book through Travendly. From start to finish I was very impressed with the customer service Jon and the team offered. Any questions were immediately answered and the pre-trip prep information was so thorough and had covered all topics i didn't even know I needed. The trip to Cuba was incredibly interesting and I loved every moment of it. Our tour guide Matt was very accommodating and did a great job being a friendly face but guiding us as well. I also loved our itinerary. I felt it was packed with a lot of interesting activities which really gave us a taste of life in Cuba. Yaniet, our Cuban tour guide, was also very knowledgable and we all loved hanging out with her. I recently got back from the Peru trip with Travendly. What an amazing experience. Peru is the most beautiful place I've seen in my life. And because everything was so well-prepared, I could appreciate the beauty without ever stressing about logistics. A highlight, of course, was seeing Machu Picchu (at sunrise!) We also got to eat lunch at a local Quechua farmer's home. Some of us even went paragliding. It's a great combination of adventures you've always longed for with unique experiences you never even knew you wanted. Everyone in our group was super cool.
