Transportation in Torrance, Los Angeles County, California…read more.. My friend, Craig Y., purchased tickets online for the shuttle to the Hollywood Bowl from the Torrance Transit Center. It was an efficient method of transportation because we didn't have to drive in traffic... and some parts of the freeway had express lanes for busses! We didn't have to pay for parking and deal with all of that mess. Thank you, Craig, for organizing this outing! Note: when we returned after the concert at the Hollywood Bowl, a security guard opened up the clean restroom for riders to use!

A Stressful Experience and a Dismissive Response Made It Worse…read more I booked this service specifically to avoid the stress of arranging a ride after a long flight. It didn't deliver. I was promised a notification three days before pickup with instructions -- it never came. The night before my return flight I had to call multiple times just to get a contact number to use upon arrival. When I landed and called that number, the driver said he'd never been assigned to me and had no idea who I was -- he was picking up his kids. I called the main number. No answer. Straight to voicemail -- which was full. Same on my second attempt. I managed to get a text through and eventually received a callback connecting me with a different driver, who arrived about 20 minutes later. To his credit, that driver was genuinely apologetic and a pleasure to deal with -- the only reason this is two stars instead of one. He candidly told me he'd just finished another fare and was called in last-minute, which directly contradicts what I was told the next day when I called to address the situation. That call was the most frustrating part. Rather than acknowledging what went wrong, the person I spoke with was condescending and dismissive -- telling me it "wasn't a big deal." He then claimed the second driver had been waiting for me as planned and that the first number I was given was never actually my driver. That's not what either driver said. Someone isn't telling the truth, and I know which version I believe. The whole point of paying a premium for private car service -- rather than taking the shuttle to the Uber lot -- is a smooth, stress-free return home. This was neither. And when something goes wrong, a little accountability goes a long way. I didn't get that either.

Sean and his team created an amazing once in a lifetime tour of Cuzco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu…read morefor my sister and I just a few weeks ago. The tailored, bespoked tour was created in conjunction with my sister, who had done her research on the region, but Sean recommended sites and places that we could have never found on our own. We were pretty adamant about having close encounters with llamas and alpacas, which we were told would be strolling along the streets of Cuzco- umm, not true. Thankfully, his team knew just where we could feed them up close and personal and learn more about them. Julio, our guide for the 3 days was knowledgeable, friendly and so very conscientious- at certain parts of the tour, we were traveling alone, and he'd give us super clear instructions as well as call and check in on us several times, especially knowing that we couldn't speak any Spanish. Julio, being a local from the region also knew all the little ins and outs of the places we explored, including best spots for photography. Americo, our driver for the tour did not speak English, but you wouldn't have even known that. He was so friendly, warm and again, concientious. And can we chat about his dressing? So chic and dapper! My sis and I wish he was our warm and friendly uncle we could visit in the highlands...! For a bespoked, tailored tour package, Adventures to Peru was very affordable, professional and a great value. Sean was very diligent in responding to all our queries (silly or otherwise) in a timely and respectful manner. He even met up with us the day prior to our tour to hand us tickets and go through instructions again. And his team was truly top notch. I highly recommend traveling through Peru with Adventures to Peru for the best, most detailed, interesting experience.

We had an amazing adventure starting in Lima, heading to Cuzco, exploring the Sacred Valley, a train ride to Aquas Calientes, a day at Machu Picchu, time to Explore and hike, a river raft excursion that had us laughing for two hours straight. The hotels were clean, the staff was friendly. Every guide we had was professional, courteous and on time. Every airport we visited had a smiling face to greet us holding a sign with our names on it. Trust me when you don't speak the language, it's a really nice luxury. I felt really well taken care of the entire trip. Sean even called our hotel room to touch base one evening about half way through. His insight is priceless on aspects like travel time, flight schedules, tipping guidelines, and altitude sickness possibilities. He ordered our trip so that we'd be at our best when we got to Machu Picchu. He built in down time just when we needed it. I'd never return to Peru without his insight, but I feel like a left a small piece of my heart there. Thank you so much Sean.

A Trip of a Lifetime - Perfectly Planned and Unforgettable…read more We recently returned from the trip of a lifetime to Liverpool and Wales, and we owe it all to Across the Pond Vacations. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely seamless--more than we could have hoped for in every way. Simon was simply incredible to work with. From our very first conversation, he truly listened and engaged with us, taking the time to understand what we were looking for and what would make this trip meaningful. He was not only knowledgeable and kind, but also fun and easy to work with--a true expert who clearly loves what he does. Every little detail was thought of and perfectly executed. We especially appreciated the combination of the electronic app and the beautifully organized binder that laid out each day's itinerary. Both made it easy to stay on track while still feeling relaxed and unhurried. The experiences Simon booked for us were spot-on--above and beyond our expectations, and so perfectly suited to our tastes. It felt like every activity and destination had been selected just for us. We never had to worry about a thing, which allowed us to be fully present and soak in every unforgettable moment. If you're dreaming of a customized, thoughtfully curated vacation across the pond, look no further. We can't recommend Across the Pond Vacations--and Simon--highly enough. Truly an unforgettable journey!

I am taking this opportunity to write this way overdue review on my trip to England October…read more15-October 30, 2024, personally crafted by Across The Pond Vacations. I initially contacted Anne Marie Clarke late in October, 2019 with the intent of going to England possibly in May, 2020. Then Covid happened which put my plans on hold. I can't recall exactly when I again contacted Across The Pond but think possibly April, 2024. Having traveled a fair amount I prefer private and not large group tours. I did my research and although there are many well known companies that had good reviews and offered customized private tours I wanted to deal with a boutique firm and ATP was just that. Additionally, that they were located in the U.S., knew England very well as both Anne Marie and Simon Clarke (from England originally) lived there for many years was a plus. It took several revisions to come up with the "perfect" itinerary, and as hectic as it was at times, I had a wonderful trip. The hotels with their staff were wonderful and very accommodating. I appreciated that the hotels were ideally located and welcoming. I will be writing a separate review for each hotel in London, Bath, The Cotswalds, York and Liverpool. The private guides to include driver/guides I had were marvelous with whom I established a real connection and remain in contact with a few of them. There is a reason why these individuals deserve the title of Blue Badge Guides and were expertly selected by Across The Pond Vacations. The transport arranged - private drivers, were courteous, personable and of course on time. Although I appreciated the in depth itinerary with directions provided by Google Maps, the binder was a bit much to carry around especially since I was taking trains and carrying my own luggage. Each day I would take the appropriate page out of the binder to guide me. I believe an option to receive all digitally would be welcome for those who embrace technology as many of us are adept with using Google Maps and Apps. It would be wonderful if ATP had an app (although I recognize this can be costly to develop) to use such as Travefy or some such itinerary planner. Additionally, the use of WhatsApp could facilitate any communications necessary when travelling as there are small tour companies that set up "group chats" when a client is traveling. Overall I appreciated that my trip was designed in such a way that I would not be "overscheduled". There was adequate time to meet the guides and spend time touring and tickets for the sites had appropriately timed entrances. Although all was wonderful, a dream for me was to see Les Miserables at the Sondheim Theatre in the West End - London. I had tea at Claridges prior to the performance. When Anne Marie and Simon found out that The Blenheim Palace would be closed they arranged for me to have more time with my Cotswalds guide and I received a mini-tour of Oxford. A refund for my ticket was initiated promptly after the trip. There were so many highlights and so many pictures to show but unfortunately I am unable to add them but trust me this trip was a photographers heaven. I loved the small group tour arranged to The Yorkshire Dales and upon my return binge watched All Creatures Great and Small, got my Bridgerton fix in Bath and so many more memories. Now that I have binged 7 seasons of Outlander Scotland is on my list. If anyone reading this review has specific questions, please do message me. I do recommend Across The Pond Vacations for your Great Britain travels.

They are a small, but mighty team that love what they do, and take pride in their work. They work primarily with repeat clients and referrals, so their goal is to make sure you have an excellent experience, so that you not only book with them again, but that you also tell your friends and family about them. They are true experts of Europe and travel there multiple times a year! Of course they are familiar with big cities like Paris and London, but they can also suggest the smaller towns, the secret gems and the parts of Europe that many people don't even know exist. And while they all love Europe, they also each have their own favorite destination in other areas of the world that they can't get enough of. The best part about their team is their interests are all different; they all have their own favorite cruise lines, favorite destination and favorite travel style. And they don't just read about products and places they book, they go and experience them first hand. Chris, Jennifer, Yvonne and Eva are a dream team and I can truly recommend each of them

The point of having a travel agent is to reduce the stress and make traveling enjoyable, but with Eva at Nonstop travel the booking is a mission itself. We booked a cancun trip with her for 20 something people.... She did not give us the correct information. Here were the issues from the cancun booking... 1. We asked for options for resorts and she gave us the bare minimum info with lots of attitude. Anytime one of us called, she was rude and gave short answers. 2. We asked if some people could upgrade. She said yes and she put us in rooms with one king bed... After complaining that we needed two beds she told us the resort does not offer any upgrades with two double beds (after we had already booked the resort and had no way out) and that we had to get the regular rooms to get two beds. She mentioned that we can get a room with a view for a few dollars more so some of us chose the upgrade. 3. We booked rooms for all guys (bachelor party) and booked rooms with two beds... When we arrived all the rooms were two small beds connected together with one headboard (forgot to mention there were no rooms with separate beds) 4. We asked to book flights with upgrades... She said not possible... We asked to book flights with different times... She said not possible... 5. I Gave her my credit card info and told her to pay for my trip in full... Instead she charged only $200 then emailed me and said I had not paid... I called her and reminded her that I asked to pay in full she told me no I only charged the deposit... Told her to charge me the difference and two days later nothing... Called her back and said there is no charge and her response was I didn't charge because the other person hasn't made full payment yet. 6. A few people had emergencies come up and the people who were booked with them ended up having to pay more. 7. We booked flights with Delta to Cancun which is international... She forgot to mention no check in luggage was included and when I found out we had to pay fot bags I called her and her response was "I fly to Cancun every year and bags are never included." Overall her job was to coordinate the trip and we were the ones who had to constantly follow up with her.... We also tried to book a trip to Colombia with her and she basically asked us why we don't book it ourselves... So we did and had no issues. ** I gave two stars because we made it to Cancun and had rooms. I can't speak for Nonstop travel as a company but I can tell you I would not recommend Eva.

Porsche pointed out the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Hollywood that she attended. She gave us pointers on how to shop at farmers' markets and buying produce and allowed us a few minutes of free time to shop on our own. Once back at EATZ, where Porsche is also a cooking instructor, we had Mimosas and snacked on baguette slices and very fresh goat cheese in olive oil that she purchased from the market. We began with the panne cotta - yes, life is uncertain, start with the dessert!! This dish needed time to set. We prepared the fresh beautiful strawberries for the dessert as well. Each team of 2 had their own cooking station and burner. Just perfect for all of us. We made the pasta with basil and set it aside to soften. We worked on the roasted tomatoes with garlic and then the stuffed mushrooms with spinach, shallots, garlic and cream cheese, sprinkled with bread crumbs. We began the meat sauce and when the roasted tomatoes were ready, Porsche pulsated them in a food processor and added it to our meat sauce. Our workout began as we rolled out our pasta. Yes, that was definitely a workout, but so rewarding. We all got the technique down. We learned the correct thickness of the pasta and how to cut and separate them before cooking. Definitely a good appreciation for handmade pasta!! We were then treated to a delicious meal of our own creation!! Devine!! Porsche will be emailing all the recipes after the class. My daughter and I highly recommend take a great afternoon with Porsche and taking her class. She has several menus to select from and we will definitely return in the future!! Thank you, Porsche - you are amazing!!

I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised. This tour was full of great information about San Pedro and fantastic food. Chef Porsche was very knowledgable and suggested of other places to visit besides the stops on our tour. The tour included 5 stops and it covered burgers, cuban food, fish and chips, bake goods and a stop at a tea house. Our tour started off at Bunz Gourmet Burgers ( small mom and pops shop) fantastic burger. Will have to come back for more. We went to Cuban restaurant called Punto Cubano with great character and decor. There we had a cuban sandwich that was amazing. Obviously there's other stuff in the menu that you are more than welcome to order at your own cost. We had a delicious flan :-) we had a few stops in between and learned about the San Pedro Port history and other spots. We then hit The Whale and Ale (English pub) for some delicious fish and chips. Alcohol not included in the tour but available for purchase. I couldn't help myself so I had a guinness. We then went over to Hojas for some delicious chai tea that hit the right spot. Hard to pick a favorite as everything was very very good, and if I may add the food portions are just right. Enough to leave you stuffed. Overall the tour was fantastic. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something new and fun to do. It supports local businesses and is something that you can do on a date, with family, friends or even Solo. You'll meet great people on the tour. I look forward to future tours from Chef Porsche. Thank you Porsche for introducing me to a new are in San Pedro that I would've not know about on my own but will definitely be visiting again soon.
