Called and spoke with Toby Littman (Sun City W Branch) who answered most of my questions for starters. She said that whenever I was ready she would help me with all the arrangements. I felt confident that Toby would do a great job so I called the next day and setup an appointment. Short time later we had selected our cruise, balcony room and drink package and told me being a veteran the cruise line would give me some ship credits. She also stepped up by telling me that my passports would need to be renewed before the cruise. She gave me all the information I need to complete online and as soon we got our new pictures the new passports would be ready within plenty of time for the cruise. These days it is hard to find people who truly enjoy their job and give great customer service. Toby does it all and thank her for making this cruise as painless as possible Thank you, John I. My mom booked a $15k trip with Ford's for a European river cruise. They wanted $3k to insure the…read moretrip which she declined because she has coverage through Allianz. She had a major accident 30+ days before departure and Viking would only give back 25%. I asked Ford's if they would escalate or give a credit for 12 months. Agent made one call in my presence and said nothing could be done. Why would anyone use a travel agency if there is no extra service when it's really needed? With the 25% and the Allianz refund my mom still loses over $6k. Will not let my mom use this agency going forward. Why would anyone? UPDATE: The owner called me personally to discuss. I said I would edit to clarify that Ford's received no compensation for the cancelled trip. It is Viking that retains the money my mother lost. There was still no offer of even a small credit towards future travel that would suggest a reason for booking through a travel agent vs finding your own deal on the web.
