Pool and hot tub. An amazing 10 out of 10 gym that I was very impressed by. In fact, it's an athletic club that I think is open to members in the community. That's OK. It was big spacious. I had lots of equipment so to me it made sense. Only complaint it's on the edge of a commercial industry part of Cranbrook and an edge of what would be you're more rural wildlife. There are train tracks behind the hotel. We didn't hear the train but I think we felt the train. And outside the pool it's a disgusting abandoned train, but maybe that just goes with the theme of Cranbrook.

At first sight it reminded me of old fishing cabins: Very clean and warm, equipped with TV, fridge, stove / oven, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, dishes and smaller fireplace. Cute dinette set ,couch / bed, plus a queen size bed and night stands. All the what one would need to feel the comforts of a home away from home. If ever wanted a private getting away spot ... Well, this would surly be the spot. You sure couldn't complain about the price: It was way under $100.00. Next summer will be making my stop back there for sure!

We complained, front desk did come up (it's a basic up/down home thermostat, no actual air conditioner) played with it to pretend they did something. It was late so we just decided to Open the window fully which unfortunately opened onto Main Street with traffic all night, and smokers down below. Temp stayed at 23celcius. Unfortunately I read the Yelp Reviews too late and learned of this no AC problem happening to many other customers. On top of that, the entire air system is connected to a restaurant on the main floor. If you are allergic or sensitive to smells you're in for a treat of curry pumped thru the air system as well as being hit with it the minute you walk in the front doors. On top of front desk staff who did come up to our room initially, personal hygiene was quite offensive to my odour sensitivities. I would never recommend this hotel!! How to improve?? Change everything I wrote about but know that won't happen so better just stay away people. I read some reviews of customers raving about the Free Breakfast! Rooms are standard sized with everything you could possibly need: table, TV, WiFi, hangers, big bed, stove, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, tea pot, cutlery and dishes, full bath, towels, air condoning, heater, big window, chair or front, non smoking only. Two different rooms at different times were identical. Price is excellent - one of the cheapest in town. I've traveled often, and wished many a hotel room was like this! Drawbacks: bed is really firm, noisy from the highway pretty much next door, blacking out the room is tricky, but nearly possible. All manageable, it just stops me from giving it 5 stars instead of 4.

The rooms are dated and from the late 90s/2000s, which in itself isn't terrible. However the magnet door cards that can't hold the door unlock info are not. We went through 7 cards on our three night stay. Also the hotel doesn't not offer or let you know about having your room made up. With multiple people staying in a suit at the very least you think they would drop off towels and coffee, this is not the case. Even if you request to have your room made up they will not do it. If you want towels, toilet paper or coffee , get it yourself with the attitude to match. Pool is small and only one of the hot tubs was working. AC needs a cleaning as we all left with a cough and stuffy noses that went away when we were out of the room. Upon check out the staff cannot even be bothered to ask how was your stay, it's like they already know.

Bed was comfortable, got enough pillows, and I slept like a baby! I had a wonderful time exploring their property. The St Mary River literally runs right though their backyard. It's one of the most gorgeous backyards I've ever seen. I didn't see much wildlife, but I would bet it's an awesome spot for viewing if you have binoculars. Now the best part of a B&B: Morning came and there was a fresh pot of coffee ready and in the fridge, a delicious breakfast. Kitchen, dishwasher, fridge- it was very easy to buy groceries from the store and make meals at home. We had a rental car, and it is only a short drive in. Has a small balcony. Our balcony was at the back of the building, looking at the front of another complex, but you could see the mountains from the side. My parents had a larger balcony facing the front which overlooked the parking lot, but had a very nice view of the mountains. My parents balcony was also larger with 4 chairs (I think because their suite was also attached to another one). The bathroom is phenomenal with a large soaker tub in the middle, and a very large separate rain shower. Pressure and heat was excellent. Very comfortable king sized bed with perfect black out curtains. Pillows were not the best, typical hotel style. The air conditioner was not running all the time, but when it did it was moderately noisy. We also found it was quite noisy after we used the soaker tub and shower. Pipes? The living room had a nice fireplace. Couch was average in comfort for it also being a pull out. TV in both living area and bedroom. I was definitely wowed by how beautiful and well maintained the suite was. The resort also has a small pool and hot tub. The pool is heated which is nice, and we went down a couple times. It was never busy we were always the only ones there. The hot tub was unfortunately closed the entire time we were there. It had been closed already for almost a couple weeks as they were waiting for a part to arrive. We were hoping it would open before we left but it didn't. The fitness centre was also closed and we were unable to use that as well. I have to say I was really excited for the hot tub so it was a bit of a let down. Then, on the night of the wedding BC Hydro shut down electricity for the town of Kimberely from 1am-6am. It ended up going slightly longer than that and we were unable to shower before we left for our long flight home. I get that this is beyond their control, but it really was bad timing. Overall, I was just really bummed that a lot of their resort features were unusable. There is a Montana's attached to Trickle Creek Lodge which is right beside Mountain Spirit. We had our first dinner there since it was so close by. There is also the Stemwinder Bar and Grill but it is only open for private events in the summer. For a very fantastic meal definitely check out The Old Bauernhaus which is only a 3 minute drive. Absolutely fantastic food and drinks. Overall I would recommend Mountain Spirit if you are in the area and I would return.
