A restaurant that charges this amount of money for its plates does not deserve more than 1 star. Let me try to explain our experience.
We sit down and notice that some wine glasses and some water glasses are missing. We ask about 3 times to bring some.
In our table of 8 people we had 1 vegetarian. I know this is a fish restaurant so our vegetarian friend said sorry to the waiter and asked if they could make a vegetarian dish for her. The waiter said that they can make anything: "vegan, vegetarian, gluten free no problem!" So we look at the menu and all they have is Pasta with tomato and a caprese salad. I can eat those at home. We notice that there are some side dishes within the fish plates that are vegetarian: a parmigiana cake and guacamole. We ask him to make something with those and he said no problem we'll make a beautiful dish for you.
We receive a complimentary entreé but it had fish. It was served also to the vegetarian friend. Great! They've already forgotten she's vegetarian. My friend hands it to one of us and isn't given anything vegetarian.
The vegetarian dish arrives and it certainly looks beautiful but unfortunately it had no sign of any avocado or guacamole and it ended up being just grilled veggies with no dressing whatsoever. Very boring.
They later ask if she's still hungry and she says yes. She would like a dish of cheese if possible. The dish was literally just a few cheeses, some feta, some mozzarella, and some parmesan. The only condiment was some honey on the parmesan.
Another friend of ours ordered an entreé of polyp carpaccio. I ask him if i can taste some and he tells me it's a bit weird... It feels like there's sand in it. I take a bite and i definetly feel that "crunch". It's not a normal crunch. It feels like sand or seashell. We tell the waiter and he says that MANY customers tell him that there's sand but it's just salt... because "polyps don't live in the sand!". Right... This was not salt... it was sand or seashell... i think i can tell the difference. We ask for it to be changed. My friend orders scallops in exchange and they are nice.
Our main dishes arrive and on some of the roasted potatoes we find again.. some sand but less than before. Again... it's not salt.
Anyway... Most of the food was good. Nothing spectacular. We're certainly not happy about the sand...
To make things worse we're always served by a different waiter so none of them remembers who ordered what. Every plate we have to tell the waiter who ordered it so that he can place it in the right spot. This to me is quite ridiculous.
The bill arrives and they charged us for the sandy polyp... great. We decide to just pay, leave as soon as possible and never come back.
Concluding: the service was terrible, the cooks obviously can't cook a simple vegetarian dish and there was sand in a few of our plates.
Don't go here... ever. read more
