Seafood appetizer

Wow! Just wow!!! Highly recommend this beautiful spot! We arrived before the dinner rush on a Saturday thankfully! We were seated immediately. Service was amazing! Drinks were good. Food was outstanding! We ordered a seafood appetizer that was the evening's special (don't remember the name) and beef carpaccio. Both amazing! For dinner (3 of us) we all had different meals and we couldn't stop sharing! Absolutely delicious! Chicken piccata with olive oil pasta, seafood risotto with saffron, and my meal was shrimp champagne with pasta. Can you say food coma?! It was so good that in the middle of the meal we made reservations to bring friends back the next day! Dessert was good too although I wasn't crazy about their house tiramisu. I'm picky and I like rum in mine since it's what I'm used to at other Italian restaurants in the states. That won't deter me from returning. Not one bit! My parents had the bread pudding with guava and they enjoyed it. Portions for all things are pretty big (we had leftovers even after stuffing our faces LOL). This spot did fill up after our arrival so I would suggest reservations. Don't miss out on this great little spot in Guaynabo!

Had a nice lunch here the other day with the family. I read some reviews complaining about the interior design. This is the first time I've been here (I had previously been here when it was a Pizzaiolo). It appears those calls for a makeover were heard because the place looks nice. They even decorated the ceiling. I forgot to snap a photo but somebody else already posted one. This os a very popular restaurant. It is family friendly and also date friendly. Hence, it is recommended you make a reservation. Although it is good for dates, it isn't a quiet place. There are a couple parking spaces in the front. On certain evenings there is valet parking. Being an Italian restaurant, they have a good wine list. The beer selection, however, is not so nice. It is your typical macro brews, no craft beer. Overall, the food was good as was the service. The complimentary bread is very good. It came with butter. I would have preferred olive oil and balsamic vinegar but bread and butter is always good. We started with the beef carpaccio. It was a decent dish but didn't stand out from others we have tried. For the main course, I went with the risotto de calabaza, setas y espárragos. The came in a large bowl. The portion size was plenty. I couldn't finish it. The flavor was there, a solid risotto for my tastes. My wife's chicken , the pollo alla Sofía Loren, was creamy and succulent. Her capellini with Gorgonzola sauce was also delicious. Again, big portion. Our son had a cheese pizza. What I found odd was the lack of kid sized pizzas. They have a kids menu but it doesn't include pizza. The pizza they have for kids is essentially a regular sized cheese pizza. Regular sized means 8 slices. At the end of the day, you take home the leftovers but it would be nice if they had a small personal pizza for kids. FUI, all pizzas are thin crust. No dessert this time around. All in all, solid food and friendly, albeit slow, service. Will return and would recommend. There is a sign on the door that says they offer delivery via foodnetpr.com, but when I checked the website I didn't see them listed.

Excellent Tiramisu

Excellent service and great tasting food. Even though we came in late(30 minutes before closing) we were treated with the most cordial hospitality and polite attitude. The atmosphere felt like family and our waiter Misael went above and beyond to take care of our needs. I 100% recommend this restaurant and will definitely return in a near future.

You can't go wrong if you want some great Italian food or some Criollo. Great service and reasonable prices.

This place is very substandard. I'd you want Italian, try Picolo Posto off of route two.

The Mall of Paseos restaurant ibas a beautiful setting. The ambiance is inviting--perfect for a casual date night or dinner with friends--and the wine selection pairs nicely with the dishes. We started with appetizers that were flavorful and well-prepared, setting a strong tone for the evening. The pasta dishes are clearly the highlight here; options like truffle-infused macaroni and traditional plates bring comforting, rich flavors. Service is generally friendly and attentive, though timing can vary during busier hours. Overall, it's a dependable spot if you're craving Italian cuisine in Puerto Rico--great for a relaxed night out, even if not every dish reaches that "wow" factor. Pro tip: Stick to their signature pasta dishes and pair them with a good wine for the best experience.

The garlic bread was fine, not as good as the arancini. If you are hungry, get the chicken parm, my god it is the largest portion I have ever seen! I ate one of the 3 cutlets they served. Most times when a place gives a ton of food it is ok, well this was fabulous. Super thin, light breading that remained crispy and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The pizza was good as well. For dessert we had a well portioned flowerless chocolate cake which was paired with some vanilla bean ice cream. Divine! We sat in the restaurant portion near the secret door to the speakeasy so take your pick on what vibe you prefer. The wait staff were super helpful and responsive. We bought the kitchen staff a round for fun. Great experience, I recommend swinging by if you are in the neighborhood.

The food was all delicious, and reasonably priced at huge portion sizes, particularly the chicken parm! The pasta was homemade and the sauces were so good. We would totally come back on a future trip and will be recommending to others visiting the island.

Service was excellent. Our server walked us through the specials and the menu to help us decide what to order. Husband went with carbonara and I chose the penne pasta. They were excellent choices as we shared our meals with each other. I loved the pink sauce on mine. It was a bit lighter than just red or white sauces. Portions were generous but not obscene in the amount of food. We shared the mixed green salad which was a great way to start the meal. The salad was huge! Splitting was a smart choice. They don't have glasses of wine on the menu but do have house options available. I had the cab and it was delicious. Husband wanted a nonalcoholic option which they didn't show in the menu. Instead, they asked if he wanted sweet or sour, and if there were any flavors he particularly enjoyed, and they created a unique mocktail for him. So fun. This was a great stop. We are so happy we found Ombra.

The "bartender" just kept walking by us, wish we could have waited 15 minutes with a drink. When we were finally set, our service was very dry. Not welcoming at all. He ran down the specials with no emotion or suggestions. Just another day at work. We got a glass of white wine, which was chilled and refreshing, but we had to ask for water since no one offered to fill our empty cups at the table. Decoration? Even though, we sat waiting for our food for about an hour.. we finished our glasses of wine. No one asked us for a refill. We started to ration our water to drink with our food. Sip by sip. We KNEW he wasn't coming back. We ordered two apps and two mains. So delicious!! The pasta was actually so good! The sauce was amazing and the wheel of cheese with the truffle, incredible! After our food was dropped off, NO ONE came by to make sure everything was ok, or if we needed anything else. No water, no wine, just pasta. We watched the other waiters bring waters and dessert to other guests, but we were just left forgotten in the middle. Everyone has a bad day. But we watched him take shots with other tables, clean up tables, walk past us a ton, until we finally made eye contact and he offered another drink. Ha! We just asked him for the check. By this point we were just disappointed. And he cleaned two more tables and finally brought us the check.. and now he got chatty. Ok. We were really wishing for a different experience. Specially for the style of restaurant they're portraying to be.

An Italian restaurant with no bread?) not a great start. Having said all that, the rest for our food was amazing! The arancini and the eggplant were exquisite. I ordered the steak (yeah I know) but it was amazing. The sauce, the potatoes. Just delicious. Our guests had the lasagna and my husband ordered the pizza. They were very satisfied with their meals. The ambiance is quaint. Old Italian. Clean. I would train servers to know what's available and what's not. Prevent from ordering and being disappointed. In addition, if you don't have bread and make pizza, you have bread. You can make it out of pizza dough in a pinch for those who ask. Italian red sauce without bread... it's a big miss. If your equipment is broken, buy the bread. I think they should have given us the dessert based on the misses. Nonetheless, the entrees were very good.
