I would give minus stars if that would be possible. The worst waste company I have ever hired to collect our residential trash. In the past we had issues with trash not being picked up for a week or so, or being late, etc., they threw one of my personal yard waste bins (I had 5 now 4) in the trash and told me that I am responsible for my own property. Now it is week number 9 (!) in a row that my trash has not been picked up on our scheduled trash day (Wednesday). Called again and the Manager told me that it can't be the 9th time in a row (....so I am lying now?) and they have lenience for a day or so but yet, they charge their quarterly (which is $115 for us now) immediately. CS just gives you the runaround and really doesn't do anything for you. All you get is that they are on their way to collect your trash and then it is sitting out for another day or two or three. Done and will be switching (as so many have in my neighborhood bc I see less and less of their cans out). No refunds for missed pickups either. Run the other way! read more

Trash Tech is not picking up the trash. This has been ongoing for few months now. They've been skipping their service few weeks at the time ( This time they did not show up for the second week yesterday, and they promised to come today which they did not. ) , giving all kind of excuses, when we call, refusing to refund the weeks for not having their services, and raised their price like $15 every quarterly bill for the last 3~4 quarter bills. They have " F" rating with BBB ( Better Business Bureau ) with so many similar recent complaints. They just keep Signing up for new contracts, and start slagging more on the existing customers to service new customers without increasing their manpower nor equipments. read more

This company is horrible. My 88 yr old father's trash was not collected on 07.27.23. When I called, customer service says their gps shows the truck stopped at his house on that day. Not - the trash is still sitting at the curb. I asked for a supervisor to call me. Today is 08.04.23 and I still have not received a call. My father called on 08.03.23 and was told his trash would be picked up that day by 3pm. He watched the truck come right past his house and not stop. So now the trash has been missed 2 weeks. They say it's a new driver. Common sense would say to check your sheet to see if you are supposed to collect it especially since it's probably the only trash tech can on the street (smh). When you call, report a missed pick up and request a refund they say that it has to be approved. What is there to approve? You did not provide the service you were paid for. The worst service, customer service does not return calls, can't depend on pick-up. Plan on leaving trash cans out on the road for days after scheduled pick-up and may not pick until the next week's pick-up. Calling customer service: they advise will put in service ticket, this means nothing, don't return phone calls and don't pick-up trash. Contact to get credit for week when trash is not picked up, they refuse. Recycling is thrown into the regular trash truck. read more

The worst trash company ever. They are always late by 12 hrs to entire days. Currently it's been almost 2 weeks since they've picked up the recycling in my entire neighborhood and everyone's cans are out. Customer service is awful. Wait times of 30+ min (due to angry callers no doubt) to be answered by the same woman. She just tells me "I put in a ticket, let's wait until the end of the day, they'll be out today I can see it here." It's now 8:15 and surprise. No one came. They're very expensive and quick to take that auto pay but what am I paying for? They act like recycling is a favor so they offer no apology or discount for picking it up. Trash Tech missed picking up trash over 4 week period. I am the caretaker for the resident who is a disabled senior. I opened several "operation tickets" with Trash Tech. I spoke to several CSR over 3 week period at Trash Tech. I never got a call back, nor did anyone come to pick up trash as I was told would happen. In the company system of record showed the trash truck who was responsible for pick up was marking the trash wasn't out. I have video of the trash sitting outside over a 4 week period. No one at the company wanted to see the video. I finally had enough when I found the trash had maggots. I called a competitor and signed up for new service. Then I fired Trash Tech. If you are a victim of deceptive practices from Trash Tech and paid for services not rendor by Trash Tech please contact me. Trash Tech has no business operating in this State stealing from seniors on fixed income. read more

They don't come when scheduled, they don't answer phone in a timely fashion and they offer absolutely no solutions to dissatisfied customers. UPDATE: Thank god my contract with this wretched company expired this week. They had not collected my trash at all for the last 3 weeks and 2 weeks before that. Evergreen collected it today, in Trash Tech's trash cans. And for the last 3 months Trash Tech never collected my trash on the scheduled day. EVERY WEEK I had to call and report that my trash had not been collected. They'd send somebody out later in the week, so my trash cans had to remain on my sidewalk pretty much all the time. Horrible from the office to pick up! I'd give them ZERO STARS but you have to leave 1 to write a review. The office staff is horrendous. Claim to write messages, nores in your account that should be followed up on yet when you call back there's never any notes of your issues or prior calls, then get rude when you're upset that no one in the office can do their job! The trash truck comes whenever they feel like it or not at all. Your calls to find out what's going on are ignored and your trash can sit there for a week because thedriver lies to the office and said he came to get it. Recycling gets picked up every other week and they're inconsistent with that! SHAME ON THIS WHOLE COMPANY. DO BETTER. Learn to hire people who are willing to work and do the job they're paid for. Over the last two days, I've spent 3 hours on hold with Trash Tech because they haven't come to pick up my trash at all this week (and my trash is now overflowing). I spent an hour on hold yesterday only for them to reassure me that my trash would be picked up yesterday...and it wasn't. After being on hold for an hour and a half just now (again) and speaking to a customer service rep briefly (I was very polite!!) and being placed on hold again, they just hung up on me. I. am. livid. This has to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and if this issue is not resolved today, I need a refund for services not rendered, and I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I am not surprised to see all the negative reviews. After having used Trash Tech for several years with no problems except continual rate increases, the quality of its trash and recycling pickup declined dramatically in the Spring of 2022, shortly after we had paid for a quarter of future service. We received late or no service for 5 of 8 weeks. After constantly complaining to the company, we canceled our service. It took Trash Tech more than two weeks to pick up their cans and that pickup happened only after I threatened to run over the cans with my car. I gave the company more than three months to send a refund for service we hadn't received before I finally called it. Came to find out that Trash Tech's policy is to never give refunds. We started getting our service from GFL Environmental and are happy with it at this point. It costs us less and the cans are about 25% larger. read more

Terrible service. Trash Tech said that they would bring our trashcans on 8/23/23 and charged us for them. It's now 9/9 and no trashcans. TT told me to just leave the bags in the street, and they'd get them. I have to carry the bags to the end of the block and just leave them in the street, and an animal got into one of the bags. I've been a Trash Tech customer for the past 7 years, and what started as a competitively priced and reliable company has devolved into an overpriced mess. Numerous times this summer, garbage/recycling pickup was performed late without explanation. Then pickup just stopped happening, or only happened in one portion of our neighborhood. We were informed that our driver was no longer with the company and they were looking to hire another. Once they hired another driver, pickup was again missed, this time because the driver "ran out of gas". All of this with a backdrop of increasing prices over the last several quarters. After 3+ weeks without service, I am taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for trash service in Cecil County. read more

I contracted to use Trash Tech to pick up my trash every Friday last year. From the start they missed the 1st 2 pickups. I attributed that to "new user" miscommunication. Since then they have missed about 8 pickups with some coming as late as Wednesday of the following week. Today is Monday 10/4/2021 @4:28 and my trash is STILL not picked up at this time. My trash has been on the curb since Thursday night, my bill is paid up for the quarter, I have made numerous calls and keep getting rude excuses with zero resolutions like I did something wrong. All of these waste companies seem to be terrible but this is the worst. Two thumbs down. There is NO technology in Trash Tech. You should offer a zero star rating. Horrible. read more

This has been the most Inconsistent unreliable trash company I ever dealt with. The truck SKIPS my house , misses my house, never seems to make it to my house on trash days. Will come by on a random mondays Saturday's tuesdays and Wednesday claiming they tried to get the trash but our cans weren't out....trash day are suppose to be on fridays ! I've called multiple times, the poor reception girl isn't at fault she was nice but this company is over priced for the lack of service they provide. A fitting name for a company; they are indeed trash. Pickup was scheduled for Thursday's; during the snow I made sure to put the cans out on Wednesday night as their Facebook page suggested. No pickup Thursday because of the snow, understandable, left the cans out Friday and Saturday after the weather improved, as their Facebook page suggested...still no pickup. Finally called the office on Monday, and was informed by the raspy voiced hag that answered the phone that they just weren't doing any of the pickups they'd been unable to do, and not offering any bill credit after having just hiked rates by a full 10%. The phone crone was incredibly rude, even going so far as to call me a liar when I said I'd seen both other haulers that service our neighborhood making up their missed pickups over the weekend. As a final insult, when I called back to cancel my service (I saved about 15% switching to Cauler), the witch informed me they don't issue refunds once the bill is paid, so I'm stuck with their abysmal service until April. I was transferred to a generic voice mailbox when I asked to talk to a manager and never got a call back. Buyer beware, look elsewhere for your trash needs! read more

Completely unprofessional in many ways. Missed us on 3 weeks in a row after 2 years of service. Customer service said it was operations and operations was impossible to get a hold of. Heard three different stories of new driver, driver was sick, temp driver etc. offered no solution as our trash piled up outside and inside our home. Worst experience with any company I've had in many many years. There are several organized and professional companies to choose from at a better value. I attempted to set service up a month ahead of time and was told that everything was in place. A week prior to service starting I was contacted and told that my address did not exist. They had recorded my address incorrectly. I was assured that it had been fixed. On the date service was supposed to start no trash/recycle cans no welcome packet, no service. This required another call. After a half hour on the phone I was told the issue was resolved. After two weeks, still no cans, service, etc. Another half hour call and they still had not taken care of the incorrect address issue. I was told it was fixed (yet again) and that service would start immediately and I would get cans in two weeks. Two weeks later, no cans but a large bill for the incorrect address (ironically addressed to my correct address). One more half hour phone call and I was told a correct bill would be sent. Two more weeks pass-no cans and no bill. I call once more and was told that as for the cans the work order was in and they could not tell me when I would receive them. As for the bill, they would email it to me. Two weeks more, no cans, no bill (I checked spam as well)-nothing. After a month I call once more to cancel service. I am asked what it would take to make me happy. I said cans and my bill. At the end of the conversation I was told there was a work order in, they had no clue when I would get my cans and my email address was confirmed. I checked spam mail once more just on the off chance and there is an overdue notice from them dated from last week. Horrible customer service. I guess they are 1) not allowed, 2) unable or 3) unwilling to call the department responsible for delivering cans to find out an approximate date that I would receive them. The other thing I do not understand is why ask me what would make things better and then do absolutely nothing. read more
