Our old trash company (Econo Haul) was bought out by WM. Ugh, the worst on the planet. I got a flyer from Trash Tech that mentioned Veteran, Senior and some other discounts. I called them up and talked to a rep named Stevie. My situation was a bit different in that I was cleaning out my deceased fathers home and lived 8 hours away. She came up with the perfect solution and the best price. They dropped off two spotless cans; one for trash and one for recycling. I've been using them since around April, 2017. Their bulk pickup service is the best!! No more trips to the dump (at a minimum charge of $7.50 plus aggravation and the smell of Cherry Island!). A friendly, knowledgeable staff who really know what they're doing, not some robotic person reading canned answers about how they can't accommodate you, or that will be an extra $X. I know it's just a trash company, but it's so nice to call a company and have a real, live person answer and treat you in a friendly manner. I can't recommend them enough. After all was said and done, I would have contracted with them even without the Veteran discount due to the service I received. Don't deal with the monster trash companies who could care less about your account. Give these guys your business, you won't be sorry. read more

This company can not do it's job, which is to pick up trash. I moved into a new house where the previous homeowner used Casella/Trash Tech. They had canceled their service but the company did not come to pick up their trash cans. I have called three times over the course of 4 weeks and they keep saying that a "work order has been placed" but nobody comes to pick up the trash cans. I'm glad that I did not sign up for their service; I can't imagine how bad they would be at picking up the trash for customers who are paying for their services. Clearly their reputation is so bad that they are not in need of more trash cans. If it was possible to leave a star rating below 1, I would. read more

Rising prices and bad customer service. Tacking on new charges all the time switched and saved a ton. You should too.

Thank you!!! Kaitlyn for your outstanding customer service. This my second review with a different customer service. Both interactions were highly professional. Kaitlyn when the extra mile without asking and explained everything. They were the hard one's billing questions. Kaitlyn was able to explain my billing questions and resolve issues. When you hire this type of employee putting the customer first it says volumes about your hiring practices makes your company standout. Thank you for this experience, Kaitlyn read more

TRASH TECH DOES NOT RECYCLE They just throw your trash and recycling in the same truck. Confirmed with the company that their trucks don't have separate sections for trash and recycling. UTTERLY AWFUL COMPANY. STAY AWAY. read more

They have horrible customer service, rates are high. Broke our cans with their new trucks and did not replace - we had no lids for weeks in the country - so you can imagine. read more

A couple of blips in service but otherwise not bad. Good price as well.... for now. But they have competition, so I'll be keeping my eyes on them. read more

Terrible!! We pay for recycle pickup and they haven't picked it up in 2 weeks. No one returns our call. Of course they picked up before the holidays, because they wanted a gift. read more

They continuously miss pick up days. If you call, you get lip service and they still don't come out. If you like trash that gets left out in the heat with maggots, then trash tech is your company. read more

I would give minus stars if that would be possible. The worst waste company I have ever hired to collect our residential trash. In the past we had issues with trash not being picked up for a week or so, or being late, etc., they threw one of my personal yard waste bins (I had 5 now 4) in the trash and told me that I am responsible for my own property. Now it is week number 9 (!) in a row that my trash has not been picked up on our scheduled trash day (Wednesday). Called again and the Manager told me that it can't be the 9th time in a row (....so I am lying now?) and they have lenience for a day or so but yet, they charge their quarterly (which is $115 for us now) immediately. CS just gives you the runaround and really doesn't do anything for you. All you get is that they are on their way to collect your trash and then it is sitting out for another day or two or three. Done and will be switching (as so many have in my neighborhood bc I see less and less of their cans out). No refunds for missed pickups either. Run the other way! read more

Trash Tech is not picking up the trash. This has been ongoing for few months now. They've been skipping their service few weeks at the time ( This time they did not show up for the second week yesterday, and they promised to come today which they did not. ) , giving all kind of excuses, when we call, refusing to refund the weeks for not having their services, and raised their price like $15 every quarterly bill for the last 3~4 quarter bills. They have " F" rating with BBB ( Better Business Bureau ) with so many similar recent complaints. They just keep Signing up for new contracts, and start slagging more on the existing customers to service new customers without increasing their manpower nor equipments. read more

they suck they suck they suck ! They are a terrible company. Trash Tech was supposed to come on Tuesdays. They were fine for probably two years. Then In July and August they stopped picking up the trash.I must have called ten times and they would lie and say tomorrow.I switched companies and they were supposed to get their cans at the end of September. They never picked them up.One still has trash in it and they want me to remove the trash they didn't pick up. August read more

Second week in a row, no truck available, well people pay enough, time to get a new truck or pay you people more.

This company is horrible. My 88 yr old father's trash was not collected on 07.27.23. When I called, customer service says their gps shows the truck stopped at his house on that day. Not - the trash is still sitting at the curb. I asked for a supervisor to call me. Today is 08.04.23 and I still have not received a call. My father called on 08.03.23 and was told his trash would be picked up that day by 3pm. He watched the truck come right past his house and not stop. So now the trash has been missed 2 weeks. They say it's a new driver. Common sense would say to check your sheet to see if you are supposed to collect it especially since it's probably the only trash tech can on the street (smh). When you call, report a missed pick up and request a refund they say that it has to be approved. What is there to approve? You did not provide the service you were paid for. There is obviously a disconnect here. If you want your trash collected weekly THEY ARE NOT THE ONE FOR YOU! read more

They MISSED too many pick-ups....They said a truck broke down. We cant get people to work. They ADD a fuel service charge to the bill $138. THAT was the final straw.....I Switched to Evergreen, they pick up EVERYTHING, EVERY week for $94 read more

Horrible from the office to pick up! I'd give them ZERO STARS but you have to leave 1 to write a review. The office staff is horrendous. Claim to write messages, nores in your account that should be followed up on yet when you call back there's never any notes of your issues or prior calls, then get rude when you're upset that no one in the office can do their job! The trash truck comes whenever they feel like it or not at all. Your calls to find out what's going on are ignored and your trash can sit there for a week because thedriver lies to the office and said he came to get it. Recycling gets picked up every other week and they're inconsistent with that! SHAME ON THIS WHOLE COMPANY. DO BETTER. Learn to hire people who are willing to work and do the job they're paid for. They're trash alright...the whole company. Save yourself the headaches and find another company to do business with because they simply do not care!! You'd have better service taking your trash to dump on their doorstep read more

The worst service, customer service does not return calls, can't depend on pick-up. Plan on leaving trash cans out on the road for days after scheduled pick-up and may not pick until the next week's pick-up. Calling customer service: they advise will put in service ticket, this means nothing, don't return phone calls and don't pick-up trash. Contact to get credit for week when trash is not picked up, they refuse. Recycling is thrown into the regular trash truck. read more

The worst trash company ever. They are always late by 12 hrs to entire days. Currently it's been almost 2 weeks since they've picked up the recycling in my entire neighborhood and everyone's cans are out. Customer service is awful. Wait times of 30+ min (due to angry callers no doubt) to be answered by the same woman. She just tells me "I put in a ticket, let's wait until the end of the day, they'll be out today I can see it here." It's now 8:15 and surprise. No one came. They're very expensive and quick to take that auto pay but what am I paying for? They act like recycling is a favor so they offer no apology or discount for picking it up. I guess a good trash company doesn't exist but it can't be worse than Trash Tech. read more

If there was zero or negative rating that is what this company would earn! DO NOT contract with them for trash service! They don't come when scheduled, they don't answer phone in a timely fashion and they offer absolutely no solutions to dissatisfied customers. Please learn from my mistakes and whatever you do...only pay month to month if you for some reason even consider using these thieves--they owe us a credit for failure to deliver services and refuse to act honorably. They are crooks! read more

UPDATE: Thank god my contract with this wretched company expired this week. They had not collected my trash at all for the last 3 weeks and 2 weeks before that. Evergreen collected it today, in Trash Tech's trash cans. And for the last 3 months Trash Tech never collected my trash on the scheduled day. EVERY WEEK I had to call and report that my trash had not been collected. They'd send somebody out later in the week, so my trash cans had to remain on my sidewalk pretty much all the time. And 4 out of the last 5 weeks they never collected it. Thieves. read more

Trash Tech missed picking up trash over 4 week period. I am the caretaker for the resident who is a disabled senior. I opened several "operation tickets" with Trash Tech. I spoke to several CSR over 3 week period at Trash Tech. I never got a call back, nor did anyone come to pick up trash as I was told would happen. In the company system of record showed the trash truck who was responsible for pick up was marking the trash wasn't out. I have video of the trash sitting outside over a 4 week period. No one at the company wanted to see the video. I finally had enough when I found the trash had maggots. I called a competitor and signed up for new service. Then I fired Trash Tech. If you are a victim of deceptive practices from Trash Tech and paid for services not rendor by Trash Tech please contact me. Trash Tech has no business operating in this State stealing from seniors on fixed income. read more

Over the last two days, I've spent 3 hours on hold with Trash Tech because they haven't come to pick up my trash at all this week (and my trash is now overflowing). I spent an hour on hold yesterday only for them to reassure me that my trash would be picked up yesterday...and it wasn't. After being on hold for an hour and a half just now (again) and speaking to a customer service rep briefly (I was very polite!!) and being placed on hold again, they just hung up on me. I. am. livid. This has to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and if this issue is not resolved today, I need a refund for services not rendered, and I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I am not surprised to see all the negative reviews. After having used Trash Tech for several years with no problems except continual rate increases, the quality of its trash and recycling pickup declined dramatically in the Spring of 2022, shortly after we had paid for a quarter of future service. We received late or no service for 5 of 8 weeks. After constantly complaining to the company, we canceled our service. It took Trash Tech more than two weeks to pick up their cans and that pickup happened only after I threatened to run over the cans with my car. I gave the company more than three months to send a refund for service we hadn't received before I finally called it. Came to find out that Trash Tech's policy is to never give refunds. We started getting our service from GFL Environmental and are happy with it at this point. It costs us less and the cans are about 25% larger. read more

Terrible service. Trash Tech said that they would bring our trashcans on 8/23/23 and charged us for them. It's now 9/9 and no trashcans. TT told me to just leave the bags in the street, and they'd get them. I have to carry the bags to the end of the block and just leave them in the street, and an animal got into one of the bags. This is a disgrace. How can you tell a paying customer to just leave trash in the street? read more

I've been a Trash Tech customer for the past 7 years, and what started as a competitively priced and reliable company has devolved into an overpriced mess. Numerous times this summer, garbage/recycling pickup was performed late without explanation. Then pickup just stopped happening, or only happened in one portion of our neighborhood. We were informed that our driver was no longer with the company and they were looking to hire another. Once they hired another driver, pickup was again missed, this time because the driver "ran out of gas". All of this with a backdrop of increasing prices over the last several quarters. After 3+ weeks without service, I am taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for trash service in Cecil County. read more

I rarely write reviews, however, I must do so. Within the past three months our trash has not been picked up on our scheduled day. Two weeks ago our trash was not picked up at all. I have called and am informed because of driver shortages our trash is nit being picked up. I have also been told my trash was not at the curb, it was. Very poor service. read more

I contracted to use Trash Tech to pick up my trash every Friday last year. From the start they missed the 1st 2 pickups. I attributed that to "new user" miscommunication. Since then they have missed about 8 pickups with some coming as late as Wednesday of the following week. Today is Monday 10/4/2021 @4:28 and my trash is STILL not picked up at this time. My trash has been on the curb since Thursday night, my bill is paid up for the quarter, I have made numerous calls and keep getting rude excuses with zero resolutions like I did something wrong. All of these waste companies seem to be terrible but this is the worst. Two thumbs down. There is NO technology in Trash Tech. You should offer a zero star rating. Horrible. read more

They come Tuesday morning for trash and Friday morning for recycling. Every single time they come, they put the cans back in front of the wrong house... every single time. I literally have to watch my security cam back to see where these idiots put my can so I can go get it and put whoever's can I have where it's supposed to go. They're incompetent and pathetic and should all be permanently unemployed. read more

A fitting name for a company; they are indeed trash. Pickup was scheduled for Thursday's; during the snow I made sure to put the cans out on Wednesday night as their Facebook page suggested. No pickup Thursday because of the snow, understandable, left the cans out Friday and Saturday after the weather improved, as their Facebook page suggested...still no pickup. Finally called the office on Monday, and was informed by the raspy voiced hag that answered the phone that they just weren't doing any of the pickups they'd been unable to do, and not offering any bill credit after having just hiked rates by a full 10%. The phone crone was incredibly rude, even going so far as to call me a liar when I said I'd seen both other haulers that service our neighborhood making up their missed pickups over the weekend. As a final insult, when I called back to cancel my service (I saved about 15% switching to Cauler), the witch informed me they don't issue refunds once the bill is paid, so I'm stuck with their abysmal service until April. I was transferred to a generic voice mailbox when I asked to talk to a manager and never got a call back. Buyer beware, look elsewhere for your trash needs! read more

They keep skipping weekly pickups. I have called and sent messages but they are unresponsive. If you can get through to a person They have taken my name , number and email. They. Completely unprofessional in many ways. Missed us on 3 weeks in a row after 2 years of service. Customer service said it was operations and operations was impossible to get a hold of. Heard three different stories of new driver, driver was sick, temp driver etc. offered no solution as our trash piled up outside and inside our home.
