Went there last year to get my transmission replaced , two months after warranty expired the transmission completely went out! I call them , he said to bring it back and all of a sudden they going have to replace the transmission again at a higher price than last year. Where do I begin??? I can honestly and unequivocally state that I would have received "MORE HONEST", "PROFESSIONAL", and "PROMPT" service had I taken my "VEHICLE" in for REPAIR at a "McDONALDS" Drive Thru in a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. Even if not one person spoke English and I did not speak their language, I would have received better overall service. No "reputable" business owner or mechanic keeps a customers vehicle for weeks (first time over a month) and personally fails to return calls in a timely manner. Common sense dictates you at a minimum, leave a brief update on Voicemail and not just a "call me back" voicemail message with no update. Knowing you do not return calls in a professional timeframe, its the least you could have done. Also, after extended periods of no contact on your part, don't text customers unless you are providing information and not the same BS, "call me" only for you NOT to return the many calls back you asked for. Also, professional business owners have the common sense and decency to leave an update with an employee for the customer while they are away. What "honest" (none) business owner admits and in public that they owe you 100's of dollars yet after seven months have not repaid said debt. Google United States Postal Service, I hear they deliver. This is more effective than the four times you "told" me to meet you at the shop to receive my money on day and time so and so; only for you to tell me when I arrived each time you did not have any cash until insert date and time of your next lie. Then NO follow up phone call the next day or day after to say you had cash. Unfortunately the vehicle was not fixed after three weeks BUT on the positive side it is no longer in your possession. I would not recommend your shop to anyone and not even someone I despise just to punish them. Icing on the cake was my battery being dead when the tow truck showed up and you were no where to be found to explain that and or refund my money owed. Dave and his staff are very honest and professional. Dave rebuilt the transmission in my 65 C10 to support 700h/p and im more then pleased. He built the transmission and the transfer case in my 73 Bronco and in equally happy with his work. This shop is where a lot of street racers get their work done too. I've been using Dave's services for more then thirty years,in fact, he has been the only person to rebuild my vehicle transmissions in the past as well. This guy Dave is a flake and full of bs, he told me I could put anything in front of the trans build my car is stock his build failed 3 times not even halfway through its warranty could take it back again but don't want the car to sit in his over stuffed parking lot for a month over and over, he is behind the times on modern builds, had a 22yr old in Oxnard build my 4l65e it's lasted a year no problems he had it in and out in less than two weeks no bs, and the torque converter bolts won't come off like my third re-do at bs specialist, had over a year left on warranty just had to move on. read more

Gave me a rebuild and installed a shift kit. Took me and showed me all the little problems when on the lift then showed me all the bad with the transmission. This place is a rip off. i took my car there about 2 weeks ago on a Saturday and it was running fine, we drove the car to Lancaster all the way from Sylmar CA and was using it everyday for a week until we took it in for a smog check and it failed with 2 faults. there was only 2 problems and that was a faulty speed and output sensor. They told me it was only going to take 3-5 hours to replace and then the car would be able to pass a smog check. When I returned to pickup the car I was told that they need to order parts and the car wont be ready until Monday evening. So I called them on Monday to check on the car and this time I was told that replacing the sensors is not the only repair the Transmission needed, now it need a complete rebuild with will cost 1700 on top of the 200 for the sensors. So i told them to just put my car back to the way it was when I brought it to them and I will send my son to pick it up. When my son got home, he said that the car was jerking while driving and was not picking up speed. Turns out the car is now dramatically worst off than when we took it there. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CAR. If you decide not to let them do the all the work they want to charge you for, they will make you regret it. read more

If it were possible to give NO stars that's what I would do! DO NOT take your car here especially for transmission. We were told 4 to 5 days at most for transmission rebuild. Came back and was told waiting for parts would be couple more days. Well two and a half weeks later finally got car! Owner NEVER calls when he says he will. Now less than 2 months car back, transmission went out! They have great warranty but what good is it when THEY have your car more than you!!! Now told 3 days, came back car was in same spot! Said "waiting for parts" said would definitely be ready in 4 more days 8 days still no car! Met 2 others with same problem have cars back more than once and waiting. Owner talks a good game of experience but then seems to be able to only say "waiting for parts" and "it will be ready in couple more days for sure" going to report to better business bureau. In 2007 I had my Infinity serviced at an auto shop (won't name but should) and I'm pretty sure they replaced the transmission fluid with some low grade stuff, which ruined my transmission about a month later. The car only had about 45,000 miles. AAA towed it to the nearest Infinity dealership located in Santa Clarita, Ca. The dealership wanted big money to replace my transmission. Luckily for me, a trusted friend referred me to Mr. Dave Miller, owner of Transmission Specialist. While I live approximately 70 miles from Mr. Miller's establishment, I could not find a reputable transmission shop locally. I opted to have my Infinity towed from the dealership in Santa Clarita, Ca. to the Transmission Specialist in Lancaster, Ca. Mr. Miller and his techs did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. The transmission has never had another problem since it was fixed in 2007. The odometer rests at 180,000 miles. Fast forward to 2015 and I'm back with the Transmission Specialist having them service my 2006 BMW X5. Nothing has changed as far as I am concerned. Mr. Miller and his staff remain knowledgable, friendly, and priced right. I'm not a mechanical guy, and when I have questions they take the time to educate me without hesitation. When it comes to price, the definitely have the dealership beat. When it comes to quality work, I personally would not travel 70 miles if I didn't think these were honest folks. As I mentioned above, I have been burned by an auto mechanic shop before. They say; "Go with who you know!" Lastly, if you do decide to have work done by the Transmission Specialist, take notice, as there will probably be more than one old and valuable classic car in the parking lot. I have found that even the gear heads go to the Transmission Specialist to get their work done. Outside my own experience, I'd say that is a pretty good indicator the Transmission Specialist is the one place you can trust with your vehicle.
