I spoke with my insurance and therapist to find a place that wasn't so AA heavy. They recommended Clear Treatment Center. It was an hour drive from my house but I was willing if it was the right place. When I emailed Clear a representative reached out quickly. I was really straight forward with what I wanted from a program and they were just a direct as me! I completed 3 months of PHP/IOP treatment for alcohol, that sounds like a long time but once you start doing the work it fly's quick. The center is welcoming, clean, and organized. After my first week it was getting tough! Jason, Christine, and Jamie helped me see all the reasons why not to quit! The staff is very understanding of everyone's situations and only want what's best for every client. The entire staff works well with each other and they all have their own strengths. Jason was my therapist. Trust me when I say I gave him a hell of a hard time at first. This guy never gave up on me and got me to figure out some things about myself I would have never done alone. Clemmy was my case manager and if your rough around the edges and need someone to help tell you straight but make you feel motivated after ever conversation that's my girl! Jamie heard me when I was needing to go back to work and needed to change my schedule. That's one of the most stressful things when you have to work and continue treatment but she always found a way to work with me and find a way! Thank you! Christine is really good at communicating and somehow gets you to understand how to vulnerable with yourself and trust. I still can't I trust people now. Thank I can't say enough about the staff and the vibe. Everyone is always ready to help and easy to talk to. The hardest thing is showing up and giving it 100% when your in a bad place. They make it easy to be yourself and work through what ever it is you need to work through. I met some really cool people and other clients going through something similar as myself im grateful to have met. I felt alone in this until I met people in the program. I've been in an IOP before and it was terrible experience, so I was reluctant to try again but I needed the help so I took a leap of faith and I am so glad I did. The cohort I was in was amazing, everyone was so loving, accepting, and talkative. We were known as the talkative group. Throughout my 3 months here, I think there was only one issue with the program that I had, and it was resolved immediately. Not once did I ever feel unwelcomed, silenced, or judged. I work in treatment as well and cannot wait to refer patients to you guys. Chris, Stephanie, Derrick, Heather, Erik, Sauncia, Sydney, Amber, Justin, and others I may be forgetting (sorry), you guys were amazing and I attribute a lot of my growth to you all. Thank you especially to my therapist Amber who continuously pushed and challenged me, you have no idea how much you've helped me in just 3 months. Saying goodbye was very hard, which is how you know something truly made an impact on you. I love this place and would highly recommend anybody who is struggling to give Clear a chance. I don't normally write Yelp reviews, but given how few existing reviews there are for this…read morelocation, and how profoundly impactful my experience there was on my life, I feel obligated to share so that others who are struggling like I was 4 months ago can hopefully make the best decision possible for their wellbeing. For those unfamiliar with PHP/IOP treatment, it's essentially a middle ground between regular weekly therapy and full hospitalization. If you're in a crisis and are not currently receiving any kind of psychiatric care, this place can help you; if you're already receiving care, but it doesn't feel like enough, or you feel like you need something more intense--without being admitted to a psychiatric hospital (the image I had in my mind was being restrained in a straight jacket and surrounded by doctors in lab coats)--this is EXACTLY the kind of program you're looking for. Essentially, it's a 3 month commitment. After speaking to the admissions team and doing a remote interview with the program director, Tim, you'll likely begin within a few days--possibly within 24 hours. For 4 weeks, you show up every weekday at 9am and leave at 3:30pm. This is the partial hospitalization program, or PHP. You'll go through an extensive intake process where you'll be asked some very personal questions (I was uncomfortable at first, but trust me, the staff here are super caring and kind and you'll get to know all of them really well). You'll be thrown into the existing PHP group (mine was around 10 people) which is also nerve-wracking--but again you'll be surrounded by people who are probably there for similar reasons as you, and everyone will be totally understanding and welcoming). You'll be assigned a personal care team consisting of a therapist and a counselor, each of whom you'll meet with individually once a week. There's also a nurse practitioner who you'll consult with weekly, who can assist with prescribing medications or simply supervising/monitoring any existing ones you may be taking. There's a 30 minute lunch halfway through the day, as well as 10 minute breaks in between each group session. The sessions include traditional group therapy (known as "open process," led by one of the therapists); dialectical behavior therapy (DBT, led by a counselor); reading/journaling exercises on a whole range of topics related to things like coping skills, causes of anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, social skills, communication skills, etc. (the list goes on and on); and some interesting once-a-week sessions like art therapy, sound bath, and drama therapy (it's not what it sounds like, trust me). After that, you'll transition into the intensive outpatient program (IOP) over the course of 2 weeks; this is known as the "hybrid" period--hybrid PHP for one week (attending PHP for half days only, either 9am-12pm or 12:30pm-3:30pm), then hybrid IOP for another week (half day PHP on Tue/Thur, and half day IOP on Mon/Wed/Fri). The remaining 6 weeks are the IOP portion of the treatment, consisting of the same half days, but only 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Fri); these types of programs are a "revolving door" of people entering and exiting, some at the start of their 3 months and some at the end, so when you transition to IOP, you'll be in a new group--same staff and care team, some new faces, mostly familiar ones, just a different room than PHP and slightly different activities and program structure. You'll still meet with your individual therapist and counselor every week. After 12 weeks, you'll finish and will be officially discharged from the program. The staff can help you get set up with an outside therapist and psychiatrist if needed. Now, logistics aside, this place changed my life. I'm not "fixed" nor did I expect to be. I'm not even necessarily doing "better"--but I am different; I think just a little bit differently, I feel just a little bit differently, I think about my feelings just a little bit differently. My life is more or less the same as it was before I went through the program, however--there are now small but powerful glimmers of change that I notice as I go about my days, little cracks in the behavioral patterns that have been on repeat for years, tiny moments of clarity where I understand what I'm doing, what I'm thinking, what I'm feeling, and why it's happening. It may not sound like much, but my time at Clear was without a doubt the most profound 3 months of my life, and attending was quite possibly the best decision I've ever made for myself. Special thanks to Mike and Lilly for being such a chill and awesome care team for me, Tim for creating such a thoughtful and in-depth program, Caroline for being so welcoming every day at the front desk, and everyone else for cultivating such a safe, kind, and respectful space each and every day--Sarah, Hailey, Donovan, Thomas, Kelly, Lainey, Gavin, John, Kristina, Logan, Joanna, Alexis, Wendy, Nathan, Jamie, Christian, Amanda, and uh...anyone I'm forgetting.

Aaron and his staff were all amazing, supportive in my growth, and genuinely honest. This not the time or place for the professionals to sugarcoat areas of improvement they see. Everyone was transparent, even if I didn't always agree, it at least gave me a new perspective. This was my first time utilizing hospice care for a loved one. I admittedly had false expectations…read moredriven by common sense as it relates to a very sensitive and delicate situation. The care quality was underwhelming to say the least. Agape poorly educated my family on what to expect during a most gut wrenching time. They set numerous expectations that were not met. Including and not limited to communication, follow up visits, warning signs and resolutions. The stand out interaction was when I sat with a nurse (who was new to the company) to field the many questions & concerns that I had. Through my inquiries, it seemed the Agape finally decided to act. I have zero experience in the medical field but through daily 20 hr shifts with my loved one I gained an immense amount of hands on experience. The Agape representative told me to my face that THEY DO NOT EXPECT US TO BE NURSES, just to be there to show love and care to my loved one. This was insulting and patronizing! Agape equipped us with a variety of medicines, dressings, equipment (including oxygen, a nebulizer, and suction device) though with no real direction on when & what to look for to use this mobile triage station. Mind you, I was not expected to be a nurse. The hypocrisy was palpable. I need to mention that we were never cautioned about bed sores. No mention of what they are, how they develop, what to look for and also, what to do about them. This was frustrating and infuriating. My belief is that people who are designated as 'end of life' should be treated, handled and loved the exact same way as when they enter this world. With such delicate care, close professional monitoring and a soft touch. Babies are not delivered in a hospital and set aside with instructions to the family to occasionally have a look to tell them that you love them. Agape missed the mark repeatedly and I can honestly say that I now have extensive experience with Hospice care, or lack there of. I will continue to share my story and educate those around me. Most of us will experience Hospice for a loved one and maybe ourselves. I will ensure to record detailed instructions in my own Advanced Health Care Directive along with additional personal wishes in my Will. This is to make it easier on my surviving loved ones who may be tasked with my care. This is responsible thing to do, for all parties. This is absolutely necessary because of companies like Agape Hospice and their lack of compassion, professionalism, accountability, execution and customer service. DO YOUR RESEARCH ABOUT HOSPICE. VET THE COMPANY. SEEK OUT REVIEWS. EDUCATE YOURSELF ON YOUR LOVED ONES SPECIFIC DISEASE OR CONDITION AND HOW TO CARE FOR AND INTERACT WITH THEM. YOU CANNOT COUNT & RELY ON AGAPE OR POTENTIALLY OTHER COMPANIES TO ADEQUATELY PREPARE YOU. ONCE YOU'RE IN IT, IT MAY BE TOO LATE. YOU WILL FEEL LOST AND HELPLESS, SO BE PROACTIVE.
