While it's a smaller facility, it…read moretruly has everything you need to reach your personal fitness goals--whether that's general strength training, bodybuilding, powerlifting, or simply shedding a few pounds. There's plenty of equipment to go around, and even during peak hours you rarely have to wait more than a couple of minutes to use a machine, bench, or squat rack. The gym is also exceptionally clean; it's clear the owners take pride in the space, because you'll barely find a speck of dirt or even a smudge on the mirrors. The owners, Norm and Joanna, are some of the nicest people you'll meet. They're also very knowledgeable trainers who offer personalized training sessions tailored to your individual goals. What Titan Gym may lack in size, it more than makes up for with its sense of community. The members are incredibly welcoming and diverse--ranging from college students and young professionals to parents and older adults staying active in their later years. It's a place that supports both casual gym-goers and serious lifters alike (including a member who recently placed first in a state powerlifting competition). You also won't find the stereotypical "gym bro" atmosphere here--people are respectful of each other's space, time, and noise levels. The people here also organize activities outside the gym as well, ranging from Spartan races and marathons to casual hikes, beer festivals, concerts, and even weekend gaming. At the time of writing this review, Titan Gym is located in Alamo Ranch, though they plan to move to a much larger facility later this year (close to the Santikos Theatre). That will be a great step forward, as the current space can feel a little cramped in certain areas. Still, even in its current form, Titan Gym manages to create an environment that feels welcoming, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of. I'm personally a Texas transplant, and finding this gym went a long way to making this place a new home.

(-) 1-Star Review - Fitness Connection (West San Antonio)…read more This is by far the worst gym experience I've had in San Antonio, and it has nothing to do with the equipment alone. The real issue is management and how they handle customers. I initially came in to use a 5 day pass. I was told it had to be used on five consecutive days, which was not clearly explained upfront. After using just one day, I was denied entry unless I paid for a day pass that was quoted around $40-$50. That pricing is unreasonable, especially when other gyms offer full monthly memberships for far less. The facility itself is overcrowded, equipment is frequently dirty or out of service, and the overall environment feels poorly maintained. The biggest problem, though, is how memberships are handled: * I was signed into a month to month plan without clear explanation or consent * I ended up paying around $200 total without even properly using the gym * This included: * Monthly dues * An unexpected annual fee ($60) * When I submitted my cancellation on March 31, I was told I still had to pay for the entire month of April due to a 30 day notice policy, even though the next billing cycle hadn't started That already felt excessive, but it got worse. When I canceled, the manager asked for my reason, which I clearly explained: * Poor communication * Misleading membership explanation * Lack of transparency However, the receipt I received listed my reason as: "Member does not use the gym" That is completely inaccurate and not what I said. This is a serious issue. If management is willing to misrepresent customer statements on official records, that raises concerns about how they handle complaints and internal reporting. Final Thoughts * This location feels disorganized and poorly managed * Staff at the front desk are fine, but management lacks professionalism and transparency * Policies are either not explained clearly or are enforced in ways that feel predatory I strongly recommend: * Reading every detail before signing anything * Asking direct questions about billing, annual fees, and cancellation terms * Getting everything in writing I would not recommend this location to anyone based on my experience.

ITS ALL ROSES AND BUTTERFLIES UNTIL IT'S NOT…read more When Fitness Connection first opened up, I was excited to learn that they had a section specifically for women to workout. Something that drew me to change gyms. I didn't care for the rows and rows of equipment that looked like a big warehouse. I participated in one Zoomba class that I felt could have had some low impact options. It was good and got the heart rate up. My sneakers kept sticking to the floor and it was difficult to slide side to side in some of the movements. Definitely a lot of jumping. Soon after, I signed up for personal training, feeling that this was the answer to continuous weekly exercise that would hold me accountable. The only issue is that I do have medical limitations and with that being said, my trainer, Savannah, made sure that she was always checking in with me to be sure I wasn't experiencing any pain. She really is an EXCELLENT trainer. Without going into all the details of all my health issues, I found I needed to take a break and heal. We did a 30-day freeze so that I could take some time to get better. Unfortunately that didn't happen and was told in order to cancel my $240/mo training cost I needed a true doctor's note or else I would be forced to give a 30-day notice to cancel. This is EXACTLY what Mr. Collins said to me. I immediately went to my doctor and paid my co-pay, and walked out with a treatment plan for PT and my note to the gym. I directly left the doctor's office and went straight to the gym to give them my note. The manager was NO WHERE to be found. I waited patiently and then was told they would take care of it and contact me. Meanwhile, I'm in contact with my trainer and she is telling me that she will follow up with the manager. I know that she was following up with him and he was dragging his feet on it. I have the text messages. Come Aug 6, I see a charge on my account. They charged me after I had given my doctor's note to cancel. Now Mr. Collins is calling me telling me that unfortunately because my doctor's note doesn't give a date to return to my training, that it is unacceptable. They are keeping my money and I will be canceled at the end of the 30-days. But I can still have my training sessions! Or! I can be reimbursed and charged again next month and continue my sessions. What kind of sense does that make when you have a note from your doctor that says you can't? At this point, I want a divorce from this whole program. I refuse to ever have anything to do with this business. They say one thing, and then lie so they can get one more payment out of you. What a scam. My advice, go somewhere else.

Ill finish out my contract and make sure to cancel in person because it auto renews month after. People nice and respectful and due take the time to clean machines at times.
