They were able to squeeze us in on the very next day for the surgery. Front desk was very professional, polite, knowledgeable and pleasant. Surgery was done by Doc. Jay Guay. I feel sorry for people who put negative reviews about him. We had nothing but positive experience only. We had Doc. Hildebrandt as anesthesiologist who was also great. We had consult and surgery on the same day which I was very appreciative about considering we live over an hour away from the city. Doc Guay explained in details of the surgery. Surgery itself took 30 min max. He did an excellent job at removing all 4 teeth at the same time. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone. He was very upbeat and very pleasant.

My daughter and I both agreed that the ladies assisting her after the surgery were very kind and helpful. As well as the ladies at the front desk who made her feel safe and reassured her about the surgery! I have gone with my daughter for a few follow-up appointments and each time Dr.Guan and his assistant in the room were personable and more than willing to answer any questions we had. Particularly about the topic of becoming an oral surgeon or orthodontist. (Which my daughter wants to go to school for in the future.) The most recent time we went, he spent about 20 minutes answering questions my daughter had about how he became an oral surgeon/the path he took to get where he is today and the question, "Is it worth it? Do you enjoy what you do?" To which he responded without hesitation that yes, he loves what he does - and it shows from the passion he displays when talking about his career. I enjoy most of the staff and my dentist…read more One thing that keeps me away is that I feel that I am looked at like a profit centre, and the work that is being done is not done for my personal health. I get a sense that my dental insurance is maxed and the schedule is to make sure a plan is used to spend every cent that is available. While I can appreciate a plan to maximize my benefits, I believe its all about the profit. I have never spent so much to do so little hygiene work. I have friends who refered me there who feel similar to what I feel and that was their comments and not just me fishing for agreement. I am not complaining about legit dental things like replacing fillings etc...but still am very weary. The straw that broke my back and made me want to write this letter was shortly after I was lectured about having to cancel an appointment. I was told that I have missed several and that was unacceptable from them. I needed to pay a charge if I was cancelling. I was confused by the comment of missing appointments so I asked if she could tell me when I had missed appointments. Here first comment was that I called in with strep throat the evening before my morning appointment, and the time before that dated back to 2007. Five years and thousands of dollars in care had since past! I was absolutely blown away. I suggested that she should bill me for the visit that I was going to have to miss and I have not been back since.

My first impression as I walked in the front door was a big sign stating that "All footwear must be removed". I understand that winter footwear can be very dirty but please let people leave their footwear in a secure place. This area was behind another closed door before the reception room meaning anyone could steal my $300 boots from this private room as they were leaving. Also, the entire practice was a very cool temperature so my feet were freezing for the entire hour I was there. Next they pretty much demanded I had to have x-rays which I didn't want - I had my last 2 wisdom teeth out a year ago and regularly have my teeth cleaned every 6 months so I know my teeth are fine. The hygienist picked my teeth manually with the metal tools for 30mins before giving me a basic polish and then a fluoride rinse. The last dental practice I used was WONDERFULLY MODERN. They had a scaling machine that the hygienist used which made the experience much more pleasant and thorough. Plessis dental didn't even have a sink beside the patient's chair I had my teeth cleaned on & the rooms were more like sections separated by partitions so I could see other people receiving treatments which seems really strange to me. I would not go back or recommend - 2 stars only because the reception staff were very polite and my teeth do look clean.
