Amanda Riley, the owner, is all about whole body health and healing. My personal experience: I just finish four days in a row taking the 6 AM class. And I can't wait to go back tomorrow. The first day I went because a friend who has gone here for a year had been begging me to join her for months. ("Please, just try it. I know this will hep you!") I have struggled with pain (psoriatic arthritis, an autoimmune condition) and I was worried about a whole body fitness workout (I tried cross fit, not for me). I was and am stunned that I hop out of bed now to make it to Amanda's class. My son commented this morning about how cool it was to see me with energy in the morning again. Amanda recommended the infrared sauna (set on pain relief) for me and, while I started hugely skeptical, I wouldn't miss it now. Day three I got up at 4 AM to go BEFORE class and get an additional session in the sauna. I am shocked at how much better I feel. I have taken classes at a number of larger Twin Cities gyms and I like this better. Amanda modifies some of the moves for me without making me feel like an outsider. Everyone in class is so welcoming. I know a lot of people come here for weight loss, but for me, it has been all about pain relief.

I have heard of this place from a friend. I looked it up and called them right away. They told me the only thing I could do is serve meal for now, I said sure. I noticed the time frame they got were mostly booked by big corporation workers, like Target. Since most of the lunch and dinner were booked the only option was breakfast. Of course since I am an early bird, I signed up. I arrived pretty e-a-r-l-y. I had to get a cup of coffee so I could be ready to work. I arrived and there was a police officer sitting by the security.Yes, they check your ID to make sure you are legit and not to bring any thing harmful to the building. If you are a visitor or volunteer person, you filled in your name and reasons for the visit. I headed downstairs where the cafeteria located. The staff was very nice to me. They explained to me what I needed to do. I served oatmeal, coffee and juice. I had to wear an apron and a hair net which makes sense. I stayed a little longer to help out cleaning the tables and floor. I was there for a little over two hours. After that I went straight to work. I had a great time talking to people coming in for food. Most of them were family in need. I really appreciate a service like this helping the community in need. I hope everyone get a chance to do something like this. Who knows you might see me there...:) (Parking lot is small)

Most cooking classes start with some small talk about the menu, maybe a glass (or two) of wine - Nalini starts with a 15-minute guided meditation that culminates (warning: spoiler alert) with a small food offering that makes you keenly aware you are what you eat. She then discusses Ayurveda and the principal of eating foods balanced to your body (kind of sort of makes sense, but I'm still thinking how much I love bacon). Then the kicker - it's not just how you feel about taste, but also how you feel afterward (needless to say, I could still feel the delicious Prather Ranch corned beef sandwich I had for lunch). The food we cooked - soup, rice and green beans was simple and delicious. It was fun to learn how to mix and prepare Indian spices. But the real learning is to really think about your food. I'm not at all ready to give up corned beef or bacon all together, but even for a couple meals every week, to think about balance, energy and how you feel afterward. Thanks Nalini, hope to do another class soon!

First of all, the class was held in Nalini's apartment, which is beautiful. Right off the bat, you can tell Nalini is incredibly knowledgeable. She is also kind, warm, and respectful. I learned a lot about Ayurvedic principles and some of the basics of Indian cooking; however, I didn't even get to use my knife! I guess that would be my only criticism; I expected to do more cooking than I actually did, and to learn more about actual cooking techniques. I think maybe the class size was too large, as I felt there were "too many cooks in the kitchen." Otherwise, it was a wonderfully positive experience. The end result of our labors was delicious! I can't wait to go buy up some spices and try the recipes for myself. I'm definitely interested in some more classes with Nalini, (especially her Dosa making class) as well as one of her culinary tours to India.
