I've worked in sales and customer service for 20+ years and Bookmobile is second to none. Very professional, experienced, and lovely to work with.

Their sales manager, Nicole Baxter, was incredibly rude and refused to get on the phone to answer questions. I think their one-stop shopping business model, which includes fulfillment, is good, but their execution, based on the other reviews I've seen here, and my experience, is pretty crazy. Rudeness, from what I'm reading, appears to be combined with bad work. Or at least bad work some of the time. Perhaps the process goes well for some people, but clearly not for everyone. The company should look at personnel as well as corporate culture and print quality. Start with common decency: I've never dealt with anyone, ever, in sales who behaved like this. And this is publishing. Small publishing. People in this field should care about books, and authors, not abuse them. I'm a writer and editor whose books have been published by major houses. I just don't think these people care about creators. An update based on Nicole's comment. I explained several times that I was just making the initial contact. Our designer is not only experienced, but well-known in the field. He designed major magazines, led redesigns at The Washington Post and the LA Times, is an expert on type, and just did a Jann Wenner book for Little Brown. Yet Nicole would rather send patronizing emails than deign to get on the phone for 5 minutes so I can ask some basic questions, such as whether the company can produce hardcovers with stitched rather than perfect binding. We didn't need "guidance" (again, patronizing) but we did need to get more information about what Bookmobile provides.

We collected a lot of items from friends and donated them to 3 locations. We picked this service because of program they provided for all ages: child care, youth program, adult day program and other great services. I spoke to a staff named Laura, she was very helpful and nice to me. She explained to me what items they were looking for and when I arrived she was very warmed and welcoming. She had a male staff helped me carry water and some clothes from my car. I would recommend this place for friends or family looking for programs to assist them in realizing the quality of life.

We got to the community center around 5:20 and the line was outside and on the sidewalk. No issue, it was a beautiful evening and we were with family. The line moves relatively quickly, they had a lot of volunteers helping and when you get inside and pay you can experience some live music and dancing. They have a bar while you wait and in the dinner hall. The Fish Fry was very good along with the, fun addition, of pierogies. Which was very good. You get two pieces of deep fried fish, 3 or 4 pierogies, a handful of fries and coleslaw. The quality was good, flavorful and filled you up. My family had good reviews of the food, one even said it was their favorite this year. With over 1000 people attending each week, during lent, expect to wait, it's worth it. It's all about community, friends, relatives, the cause and the food.
