With their super affordable prices (cash vs card), I booked a 90-min combo massage for $80 (60-min body and 30-min foot) and arrived early in anticipation. They started me off with the foot massage which was divine. It was hands down one of the best foot massages I've had this year. After a brief wait, another masseuse came in and I was asked to turn over so that she could work on my back. Thinking they start off with the back and then finish with the front, I turned over. The back massage, which ended with a hot stone massage, was good. The reason for my 4 stars was not because of the quality of the massage (I enjoyed them and plan on returning) but because I was expecting a full body massage, not just a back massage - and I think that expectation/anticipation made it a bit disappointing for me. Regardless, I'm returning again in January for a full body massage (already booked!) to see whether or not it's a back massage only or the full deal. When I called in to make an appointment for the both of us, they only had one masseuse that performed the cupping so I let my husband have that appointment, and they let me do the hot bamboo instead of cupping. We arrived to our appointment and filled out the necessary paperwork, and were pretty much good to go. I wish I remembered the names of our masseuses but my husband had the male masseuse that does the cupping & a nice lady masseuse. Everything was lovely and wonderful for myself, and my husband was very happy when I saw him when were done. My husband has never had a male masseuse, I was wondering if it would be awkward but he said it wasn't and that is was amazing. He was strong and knew what muscles to work, and my husband said it was the best massage he has every had. The first thing that sets this business apart is that they treat you like family and not a ticket. They all share and support each other's practice so the company grows rather than an understanding individual. Similarly, they take ample time to get know what you really need from your visit rather than just what you expect to get. More than nice I thought things like 'what on earth is she doing to my arm for so long when I told her to just focus on my back knot' - I tell you that back knot was a long time reoccurring problem that no one has ever solved so completely in a single session like the educated woman at Absolute Body Balance (ABB) did that day. Secondly, there are many wonderful options when it comes to mind and body restoration yet main stream society locks in on the single notion of kneading our muscles like bread for any problem. I think exploring the types of services offered at ABB would really help people get more from their visits. I personally love the Thai massage. It is unique - like yoga and body positioning being done to you on a matter floor with comfy clothes on. I have been fortunate enough to have it done in Thailand before but this is the only American service I have experienced that has come close to its authenticity and benefit. I had a massage from Tom at Elements on Stetson Hills Friday morning. It was great but the pinched nerve in my neck was still an issue. I mentioned to my daughter around 230pm on Saturday. She encouraged me to go here to formerly 99 Massage. She's been going for years. She said they have been the best for neck & back pain relief. With a foot massage it's only $40. I called to see if they could get me in asap. They booked me at 4 pm. So excited to get some relief. I chose the chair; speed between 4/5. The massage therapist was surprisingly thorough and it was painful. I am 67 and a bit of a wuss. Many areas are tender. He asked a few times about the pressure since I was clinching and moaning. However my main reason for this review is due to a different experience. I have been stricken with tinnitus for 25+ years. It was thought to be an inner ear issue yet updated info is that it's in our brain. I am ADHD as well as 3 immediate family members with tinnitus. The last few days the sound has been so loud. This guy rubbed both ears quickly; generating warmth. He placed a finger tip in each ear holding it there a few seconds. He repeated it. As of Sunday morning that "procedure" has resulted in an amazing change in the once very loud sounds. I am convinced that the now very faint "ringing" is due to the service I received.
