I scheduled a Skype session with Moonshadow after viewing several episodes of his interactive web…read moreshow (INSIGHT with Moonshadow). I had gone to a few "new age" and "intuitive" therapists before, but always left thinking they were a little "out there" and that their methods were not quite in tune with my personal approach to mind/body/spirit wellness. Moonshadow is different. He calls himself "Earthy-crunchy" which, to me, translated into approachable and practical. He is warm, friendly, and works with YOUR goals (not some woo-woo agenda) to help you become the best, most balanced person you can be at the moment. He takes all your current life situations and beliefs (including faith, if you have one) into consideration, and gives you tools you can use to manage issues like stress, grief, and loss. A main theme of our session was how I can incorporate mindfulness into my everyday life. He lets it be known that everyone is a "work in progress," and that mind/body/spirit balance is a life long journey. I really appreciated that understanding as I am far from perfect and would not have much respect for a healer who promised a "quick fix." His rates are reasonable for the industry and a bargain, I think, for someone who is versed in so many healing modalities and has over 30 years of experience.

Moon is compassionate ,understanding and works hard to understand the root cause of an issue…read more Honestly you forget you are talking to a therapist at first and it's more like you are talking with a friend. He goes out of his way to help and is open to compromise and suggestions.

I received a massage from Yomana last night and all I can say is "WOW". With traditional massages,…read moreI usually feel beat up and the effects of the massage don't last long. With Yomana's techniques, I woke up this morning and noticed the tension in my neck and shoulders has been reduce dramatically to almost none. I use to think deep tissue and hard pressure was what helped my body/muscles but after seeking out a different type of massage, I'm floored. Her techniques are subtle and small but the result is HUGE. She is caring and personable. She asked me my goals for the massage and where my body needed the most help. After the massage, she also helped bring attention to my breathing and even the way I was standing which is a cause of the tightness on one side of my body. Her space is clean and welcoming and she has taken all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you're looking for a different approach to physical well-being, look no further than Spring Street in Newport, RI. Thank you Yomana!

Her technique was truly intuitive and highly effective in identifying and calming down all of my sore and tight spots. I felt immediate results leaving her office, and feel even better, looser and more flexible today, the day after. I am so thankful I reached out to Yomana and benefitted from her skillful therapy techniques!! Highly recommended.

Float RI - Would definitely come back!

What a genuinely life changing experience. I came here on my wife's recommendation for a massage…read moreand opted for a float session instead on a whim. The sensory deprivation aspect of it had such a deep effect on me compared to what I was expecting. Once I settled in for a few minutes I had a pretty profound hour after that. Everyone's time is likely different, but it really did a lot for me mentally. I expected a neat little novelty that I did once and never again, cannot wait to get back!

Woke up excited! I had been looking forward to this experience for a few weeks…read more I walked in, and the place was beautiful and clean. I started with my 20-minute BioCharger session (a free birthday session). They got me comfortable, but it was weird that the door was left open. I'm getting all relaxed, and all of a sudden, I hear voices. Then I realize people are getting a tour through my space. In my privacy, on my dime. (Are you serious?) My excited, calm experience turned into caution and anxiety. When the owner's husband came in, I asked what was going on with the tour and my privacy. The response? "Sorry about that." Next was Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT), which I was told was an hour. I was trying very hard to focus and enjoy it, but my vibe was already ruined. I'd say about 30 minutes into it, I just couldn't do it anymore. I was very uncomfortable and having anxiety, not knowing if more people were going to come through. I was trying to talk myself into staying because now I had money I spent on the line. I finally hopped up and was just done. Scott came in, and I said, "I can't do it." He asked, "Can't do it?" Yes. My vibe was all thrown off. I simply walked out. No other questions were asked. Here's the thing: when you're paying for a wellness experience, you're paying for more than a service. You're paying for a chance to relax, feel comfortable, and have some peace and privacy. Imagine trying to relax while strangers are being given a tour through your space. How are you supposed to feel comfortable after that? In the middle of upselling services, how do you lose sight of the customer's experience? This was not appreciated, and it's especially frustrating knowing I still have a balance with them. A beautiful space means very little if the experience leaves you feeling uncomfortable, anxious, and disrespected. I'll be sharing my experience with my social media followers because people deserve to know what happened and make their own informed decisions.

One of those paths brought us to Sacred Path Reiki. I believe in self-care. I'm biased because I'm a psychotherapist, but it doesn't change the fact that if you don't focus on restoring yourself, you'll be no good for you or anyone you're trying to support or love or care for. What's the saying..."one cannot pour out of an empty cup" ? So a neighbor recommended we try Sacred Path, and boy was it amazing. When we got there, I was unsure if we were at the right place. I got the address from their facebook account, but it took me to the Green Grocer parking lot. There were other businesses but no obvious signage to tell us if we were there or not. Finally we opened enough doors that we found Jamie. We booked online, we took advantage of the 40% off discount for new clients, and said lets each do a one hour session. The location is simple, but the room she practices in is well-appointed, and very relaxing. Jamie has a way about her that is instantly calming, and I knew we would be in capable hands. She began by giving us a little bit of information about energy work and what could be expected from the process. Hubby went first, and he emerged looking very well rested and relaxed. I went next and all I can say is wow! I'm not sure what she did exactly, but I felt very much at peace following our session. Jamie gives the option of hands on or hands off, and the session includes aromatherapy, calming music, and cool temperature; all which add to the experience. I wasn't sure how we would feel afterwards, like after a massage you need to drink a lot of water, or after psychotherapy you might feel some unresolved stuff come up after. We both remarked that we felt great, and would like to return...perhaps to a shorter session next time like a booster 30 minutes or so. My neighbor who referred us also told us that Jamie does reiki for animals, and it really helped her dogs, which is awesome. Prices are comparable to a session of massage or mental health counseling, without the invasive nature of either. Regardless of if its placebo or not, Reiki with Jamie is something that I'm definitely going to be returning to, for its relaxing outcome. Worth the time and money, in my opinion!
