Without going into too much detail, our girl had seemingly overnight developed intense dementia, extreme separation anxiety, and her arthritis had become worse. We were searching for at home euthanasia specialists in case we needed to help her get the help she may have needed, but we also weren't sure it was time. Finding Haven and Dr. Hill on Google is the best thing that's happened to us in a WHILE! One call to her and she explained that while she offers that service, she also specializes in senior dog care and can do a normal assessment or even develop a full hospice/palliative care program for her if we saw fit. She listened to our specific situation, repeated it back to us in her own words to help illustrate that she truly understood what we needed her help with and that she thought she'd be able to help, and my husband and I could finally sleep again. And now, thanks to Dr. Hill's recommendations, Chloe is sleeping through the night again too! I'm sure there will be hiccups along the way but after one session with her, we've learned cognitive training tools, a new people-food diet to help her, and the trick of putting yoga mats down for helping her not slide on our floors! Chloe is already doing better. Thank you, Kelly! I cannot share enough good things about your business for anyone having a senior dog!!

Unfortunately we had issues in receiving our loved one back and after talking with Dr. Hill in the issues we had, she was very rude and condescending with unfortunately has a negative effect on her as she is the owner. We spent a lot of money having our beloved pet using the aquamation process and what we received back was not at all promised. Dr. Hill is connected with Tranquil waters and I don't recommend them at all as they made promises to us which were not received. If I were you I would totally find another company.

Betsy is technically skillful but also extraordinarily compassionate, understanding, soft spoken and gentle toward both our beloved dogs and the family members present for our dogs' final moments, one on a familiar couch and one on the grass in the yard he so enjoyed. She clearly understands and feels the trauma we were feeling and made our pet' s passing as easy as possible. She assisted at every step, and stayed to help until all was done. We are very grateful to her for making these difficult steps less painful. We were so very lucky to find her. She is the best.

My dog was 15 miles away and when I asked if there was any way she could help us say goodbye, the vet snapped and said, "That's way out of my way." No empathy. No care. Just a complete lack of humanity in one of the most painful moments of my life. I wasn't asking for a favor--I was trying to give my pet of many years a peaceful, loving goodbye. The response I got made an already heartbreaking situation even worse. She was recommended by a local vet too!!! Horrible.

My family was new to Portland and so worried for our sweet boy Gunner. We had an appointment with Dr. Tippie and to my surprise she had taken much time to read through Gunner's medical file. She was well prepared to meet our sweet boy and provide the best care possible. This means the absolute world to me. Fast forward to today, Dr. Tippie is still my favorite! She has my heart for all my days. I appreciate the way she cares for Gunner, and I'm sure other pets, and I appreciate the way she takes the time to understand and provide the best care as possible. Recently, I especially loved how she called us on a weekend to share with us the results of Gunner's blood work and this reconfirmed the best course of action for his pain management. Dr. Tippie - I appreciate you. I came to you four years ago scared my poor dog was going to die from cancer. But you took the time to understand what he went through, did the proper tests, provided the best care, and here he is today at the fine age of 13 living his best life, cancer free! We appreciate you!

The staff is very friendly and work with your schedule. I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment that fits my schedule, and unlike my personal doctor's office visits, they never leave me waiting long in the exam room. Dr. Mills is my primary, but have no problem with any of the docs at North Deering. They are friendly and get down on the floor with Max when they enter the room. They talk to me, but engage with Max, the real patient. They take time to explain if anything is wrong, weigh out options and provide possible solutions. I never feel played or misled. They are true blue in my book.

So, rather than shacking up with the next available dude who might make a decent dad to my 65 pound pit bull, I opted to explore the dog walker option. So much cheaper. And the interview process is not nearly as tedious. I was referred to Mindy by my neighbors who have two very dog-aggressive pups. And while Gus is not dog aggressive, per se, he doesn't like every dog he meets, so it takes a diligent and knowledgeable walker to ensure his and everyone else's safety. Mindy seemed to be right up our alley. Mindy stopped by the house and met Gus. He loved her. Immediately. Kisses and jumping and that lean in dogs do when they are feeling particularly affectionate. She asked all the right questions and, when I had questions, she had all the right answers. She leaves little notes telling me about their walk and whether his business was appropriately done. Unfortunately Gus can be a total pain in the ass and his report card will sometimes read "Gus was a little stubborn today." Which means he probably refused to walk and threw a temper tantrum with his leash. Mindy puts up with a lot of bullshit. But she never complains and I love knowing he's in such good hands. And I feel a lot less guilty when I have to stay at work late knowing that Gus has had an awesome walk that afternoon. My beloved neighbor Jaime, a retired Puerto Rican Vietnam vet who spends most of his summer afternoons sitting on his porch, keeping an eye on the neighborhood, told me this: "That dog walker lady you got is a good one. Make sure you keep her around." And I always listen to Jaime's advice.

I like that they focus on JP so that their clients are closer together. My pup can always use more time socializing, so I appreciate that a walk with a friend or two happens when possible. Or if not, she goes by herself, and that's fine too (at no additional charge). The price for a 30-min. walk has only gone up one dollar in three years; it's currently $16, which is cheaper than anywhere else for that amount of time. They accept PayPal for payment, which is super convenient since who has checks anymore? Finances aside, what I really appreciate about them is their flexibility. Sometimes, our walking days would change each week, and all they asked is that we email on Sunday night to say which days we needed walks. Or we'd go several months without needing walks at all. All of that was fine with them, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Oh, and my dog completely adores Mindy! I just moved out of the neighborhood and am on the hunt for a new dog walker... it is not easy to find a good one that's reasonably priced. I really miss Mailman's Pet Service!
