This is a family business that has been involved in the sale of alcohol for a hundred years and the production of it for about twenty. In their Norwood offices you can purchase as if you were at the cellar door, in fact it is their cellar door really, just a bit of a way up the road from home. There's not much point in producing a premium quality product if you can't sell it to the masses, so Tidswell maintain the sales and marketing arm of the family business up here in Sydenham Road. There are two Tidswells, Jan and Ben. Speaking with Jan I get a clear sense that they do all the heavy lifting between them, and that you need to consider this: If you want to come in an do a tasting then it is best to give Jan a call first - her number is listed here - and chat with her about what you are looking for; they are open from Monday to Friday, but in some cases they may be delivering some product and have shut the office, so it is usually best to give a call if you are coming from a long way. Have a look on their website at their range before you request a tasting so you have an idea of what they have available; this saves everybody time. You can order on line as well, so it is worth checking the website out. The prices range from moderate to quite high end so have a close look at them as well. The higher the price usually means the more limited stock of a popular wine.
