I had a chance to drive by the MSHD over the weekend while 'back home' for my brother. Today, I got…read moreto meet Christie on the phone to take care of an order I was hoping to make. There is nothing in the whole-wide world like the southern down home care you get when you work with someone like Christie. She took care of my order, answered all my questions and I can't wait to get back to the Million Dollar Coal Field where I spent most of my summers as boy more than a few decades ago! This time, though, I'll come back on my bike and enjoy riding through those beautiful West Virginia hills! I don't know about how the rest of the place runs, but if you want gear, call Christie and she won't let you down!

Tim Kainer is the worst salesperson I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I sent him a detailed…read moreemail with what I wanted to do with my Harley, and which Harley they had, I wanted to work with and he didn't even respond, till after I was there so the first sunny day the next day I drove to the dealership which was 100 miles away, when I walked in all he could talk about was how he sold two bikes that morning, "Ok buddy good for you, I don't care"I'm there looking to get a new bike myself. after half an hour asking him where is the bike I wanted to see he finally took me to see it, now 1 hour later, he comes back with a dealer quote for my 2016 Harley Davidson Police officer edition, decommissioned last year with 20,000 miles on it, offering me $11,000 the bike I wanted was a 2015 street glide with more miles and they were asking $19,000, so how is your bike worth more than mine? Your an unethical cheat and I hope you lose your job, in fact, let me help you with that, how about losing chevrons from the dealer flag because your a cheat. I don't think the owner of the dealership will be happy, and let me send him/her a copy of this letter. Yelp is just the beginning, how about Facebook, how about motorcycle organizations. I'm just starting. Message to the Owners of Mountain State Harley Davidson West Virginia, get rid of this person, Tim Kainer is a disgrace to your fine business and is holding back sales not to mention lying to customers.

I've been slowly looking for a 2022 or newer Road Glide; I currently have a 2015 Ultra. They had a few Road Glides, and my brother asked what year a specific one was. This dealership does not have tags/stickers on its bikes. The salesman Brad, who we learned was new, said it was a 2022. My brother yelled over to me that it was a year I was looking for, so I asked how many miles it had. He said a little over 12k. As I walked over, I asked, "Are you sure it is a 2022?" He said, "Yeah," and I said I would confirm it with Jared. Jared told Brad it was a 2022; therefore, I asked how much it was. Brad said $19,989. I looked at my brother and said, "That sounds good. Can I take it for a test drive?" I took it for a nice test drive, and all went well. I said I was interested in seeing the numbers. He returned with the lowest trade-in value on my bike and the exact numbers the Road Glide was listed for. I told them you are wasting my time. I want to get to the bourbon trail. The next numbers should be your best and final, as I will leave if not. He returned, upped the trade-in value by $3200, and reduced the bike by $1200. I was happy with it and said we have a deal if they can switch some stuff out from my bike, since I'm traveling. They agreed. They pulled both bikes in the back to start swapping the agreed-upon things out. I went in and signed the paperwork. I had to charge the difference as they would not take a personal check. This was the first time I could not write a check. Another associate got on a call with my insurance company to transfer it over, and he said the Road Glide was a 2019. I said stop. I was told multiple times it was 2022, and I negotiated based on that. Yes, I should have verified and noticed it on the paperwork, but I took them at their word. They should know their inventory, and when it was confirmed, I believed it. Anyway, I canceled the deal and obtained a full refund. The salesman, Brad, apologized and even texted the next day to see how I was doing. Apparently, it was going to be his first sale. All in all, I wasted almost three hours and walked away without a bike.
