Visiting from Nevada and was walking around and came across this place! I loved it! Great vibe and great selections! Right as I walked in there was some cool hand Mande mugs with their logo on it from a local artist! I absolutely loved it! Has to get one for my dad. Sad I didn't find a record to add to my collection, but maybe next time. This place is totally worth checking out if you are walking around! I heard the guy talking to another customer, and it sounds like they can order stuff only and shipped to store. But again, just over heard. So maybe if there isn't something you see, ask to get it ordered. read more

It is worth your time coming into this record store. Everyone who works here is so nice and knowledgeable. They are not the "too cool for school" type of people. Prices are great and a great selection. Sure it is a smaller shop (still a huge selection) but that is only because they have quality not quantity, every record, cd, tape, record player or whatever is inspected before it is put on the floor. Other shops may have a bigger selection however it is records that you would never think of buying. Every record at Traffic Record Store is a gem, from hip hop to country from used to new they have it all at good prices. They do so much for the town. I highly recommend!! read more

I didn't realize I left a review here in 2018 but I have a big update. I spent 20 years of my life in retail. And the thing about customer service, you really find out how good or bad it is when something goes wrong. For years we would stop in every time we drove to the coast or Paso for some wine tasting. A little over a year ago on one of these trips we stopped in and found something that I had been on the hunt for years, a Marantz 2275. I just love the way these look and sound and this one looked pristine. Price was fair for condition and I was told by the owner Manuel that it had been serviced and had a partial recap. It was love at first sight and big shocker, my wife said "Get It!" (Did not see that one coming) Take it home, hook it up and it sounds great, had a few moments of buzz or something in the first few hours that I chalked up to "50yr old receiver" things. Then the buzz turned into pops and the receiver went into protect mode. Not good. I mess with it for a few days and finally call the store. I agree to drive it up and assured it has a warranty and will be taken care of. I and gonna montage this now. It goes in and out of service and problem persists. At around the 6 month point it's looking like this whole experience is going to be a bust. That's when Manual found another technician. Let's try this again, over the next few months it ended up getting a full recap and this thing should be rock solid, well it's not, the problem persists. And then the root cause was found. It took a long time but it is absolutely now as pristine as one of the can be. I want to point out some reasons why the is an excellent display of good customer service especially taking into account that it was a full year from start to finish. 1. Every step of the way, refund was an option. 2. I was given a loaner to use after the first service didn't go well that I had for almost 11 months. 3. In all but one drop off the unit was picked up and dropped off at my house 100mi away (think about that) Shad, the technician that Traffic Records is now using is very very good at what he does in an age when not many know what to do with vintage electronics. Manual the owner of Traffic is as nice and honest a guy as you could hope to meet. Support this local business and check out their vintage gear. It's not just records! read more

Traffic Record Store - Mint condition Marantz 2275 from 1974. Purchased from Traffic Records. - Vinyl Records Near Me - Atascadero, California

Wow what a cool new store! It has been awhile since I have been to Traffic Records and I love the new location and decor! I am not a huge music gal but walking into this airy, bright and clean record store was a welcome surprise. My husband and son love going to record stores and they are usually dark, jammed up and dusty. Traffic Records is spread out with wide aisles, big windows letting in a lot of natural light and it was very clean. I love the big leather couch so I have a place to relax while my guys look around. There is a large selection of albums, CDs and even some VHS tapes. If you are looking for a record player, there are plenty here to choose from. Do yourself a favor and stop in to Traffic Records and have a look around. read more

This place is an awesome local record store with a very wide variety of new and used vinyl records. Found some great gently used records in the 5 for $20 or $5/each section. So happy there is a local records store in downtown Atascadero! Will definitely be back again soon. read more

Traffic Records is highly nostalgic for every day Joe's and vinyl collectors alike. Manny is highly knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction for records and equipment. He has a solid collection of new vinyl, and tons of vintage stuff that you can spend hours looking through. The place is a fun hang-out and even smells like the 60's and 70's. I highly recommend checking it out, and considering getting into vinyl. It's such an interactive way to enjoy music. read more

I went by the store to look around. I noticed albums outside and decided to pick a couple. Paid cash, they owed me $10. The guy said he didn't have change and said I'll just do this he handed me a wad of bills. When I got in the car I straightened them out and counted them... $8. I get it I should've counted in front of him but what business doesn't have cash. I'm sure BooBoo records knows how to run a business. read more

Stopped by yesterday, only had a few minutes, and the guy working there was awesome! Started music convo immediately and was really helpful with suggestions, areas I should check out, and knowledge of the shop. Really love how they arranged their LPs into different genres and a few smaller record labels that put out great was (Colemine, Karma Chief, etc). Had a bunch that other shops don't, wish I had had more time to shop. Recommended for sure! read more

The owner of this store is simply a liar. period. From the broken equipment he sells (first hand knowledge) to his reselling used records that still have the price tag from Boo Boo's used records, where he buy records and jacks up the price rediculously, to his shutting the door in my face this week as i stepped in for a promised and paid for signatur by Neal Young. Fantastic, family-run record store. great customer service. even played a few albums for us that we were interested in so we could hear the albums' condition for ourselves. Vinyl is organized, making hunting and digging fun and easy. I have been to stores where the records are packed so tight you cannot flip through anything. And if you fancy deep dive digging, they have $5 albums galore below the main shelves. Looking forward to stopping by again. read more

Thought they would have a decent selection of vinyl looking at the photos, but I was not impressed with what they had on hand. You will find better options in SLO. read more

on our way home from San Francisco and decided to make a pit stop in Atascadero to visit Traffic Records. We had been following the store on instagram for a while and it did not disappoint. Manny has curated an amazing selection of vinyl and also stocks some fantastic vintage amplifiers (great selection of marantz) and speakers. He is very knowledgeable about his electronics inventory and his vinyl. Manny also had some great suggestions for breweries, vineyards and restaurants in the neighborhood. TRAFFIC RECORD STORE is well worth a visit !! even a long drive !! can't wait to come back ! oh and check out his dj set at Ancient Owl Beer Garden a. few doors down Fridays @6pm !! read more

Traffic Record Store - Vinyl Records Near Me - Atascadero, California

I love, love, love Traffic Records. It really is that gem in downtown Atascadero that makes that city so very special. My boyfriend is a long-time fan of Traffic and since we've been dating making stops at Traffic to check out their record selection has become a part of our routine. With the pandemic, Traffic Records has really adapted to the online scene. While I have not used their website, I do frequent their Instagram very regularly and let me tell you, those $10 Tuesday record sales are amazing. I have picked up so many albums that have a special place in my heart. They do have a delivery system that you can opt for, and I did and I was very impressed with their open communication and adaptability. Truly a gem. What I also love about Traffic is the record selection. I can always find my favorite niche artists there and the prices are great. The store is always clean and the music is always bumpin'. I greatly appreciate all of the precautions they have taken in this pandemic, from the limited amount of people in the store, to the hand sanitizer being readily available, to masks being required. It makes me feel safe. I can't wait to check out the store for Record Store Day! read more

Good selection of vintage vinyl. Owner very knowledgeable and friendly. I called ahead and was looking for specific artists and owner gathered them and played them for me so I could gauge the quality for myself. Plus, he says he doesn't sell anything not rated at least 'good.' read more

This review is WAY overdue, but with Covid affecting local businesses I wanted to make sure to get this review written. I walked in (before Covid times) to buy a turntable for my husband for his birthday- Miguel took so much time to help me find the perfect one, within my budget. He even threw in a free record since I was buying several. He gave me very specific care instructions too- which, of course, I promptly messed up! I bent the needle and took it back, and he didn't have a replacement for me but took the time to call other stores to find one for me so that I could give it to my husband on his birthday, ready to use. This is a gem in our town. Thanks so much for all your care and time!! read more

One of my favorite places, with some really radical people! The staff truly cares about their customers, and they are more than willing to go above and beyond to provide the best customer service. I always walk out of there with a smile and some great music....music is good for the soul read more

Fantastic record store in Atascadero! It's not big, but the selection is in excellent condition. There is a good variety of titles here in multiple different genres. The owner not only knows his stock but also knows a lot about different music genres in general, and he seems genuinely interested in music as a whole. I ended up finding another Monte Mills album here that I don't have. The prices are reasonable considering the condition of the albums that you're purchasing. It's clear that he's spent time inspecting and cleaning the records before they go on the shelf. If you're in Atascadero, definitely check this store out! read more

Came from out of town to visit and was browsing for a record store without having to drive down to south county and found this gem. Traffic Records saved my marriage! Manuel, Chad, Bobby, and Noel are part of our Record Listening family now. On the weekends, I will put records on while making breakfast. We listen together, pick out records together, talk about songs we heard in our past. The collection of records used and new is immense. Me and my wife absolutely love this place. Thank you for the great records, knowledge, and always friendly atmosphere. Don't forget to look up at the ceiling! It is also filled wall to wall with cool posters! read more

absolutely amazing service and store! loved the atmosphere, vast selection of records, and great prices. i asked the employee for help looking for specific artists on vinyl and he found exactly what i wanted, as well as playing them to make sure the quality was okay. i would highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!! i'm not the type to write reviews but the service here was so incredible, i just had to leave one :) read more

We were pleasantly surprised to find this very cool record store in Atascadero, a small town that is getting increasingly more 'cool' (the arts district has a few worthy stops); Manuel is knowledgeable and friendly, and the selection of records, tapes, and sound gear contained what we found to be some real gems. Check it out! read more

My husband and I traveled up north from Los Angeles for our anniversary and decided to record shop and came across Traffic and my god is it the coolest store! Maniel was so pleasant and helpful and his inventory was insane, with originally prints and immaculate conditions. Im sad this store is so far from L.A. but worth making a couple trips a year it's worth the drive. Thanks Manuel we'll see you again!!! read more

Been meaning to come and check this place out and finally had the opportunity over this past weekend. It is a small spot packed with great finds. I got to meet and talk with the owner Manny while I was digging and we found we had a lot in common. Born at the same hospital, grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and started DJing at a young age. I really liked getting an opportunity to get to know him and I look forward to hanging out, once hanging out is a thing. I guess I came in to his last weekend at the current location as he is moving to a bigger spot just 2 doors down. He will have a DJ set up at the new location as well and I am sure I will be dropping some beats at some point this year. read more

This place is fantastic! I've found a gem every time I've gone. Manuel has an amazing selection of multiple generas and he personally inspects that every vinyl is in good condition. So great- your friendly neighborhood record depot, folks! Got all the stuff- all the genres and collectibles too.

I have not visited this store in person, but recently purchased an album from them off Instagram. It arrived less than a week later, nicely packaged, and exactly as advertised. This Midwestern gal was 100% satisfied and can't wait to do business with them again. I certainly hope this small business survives the shutdown, I would like to visit in person some day! read more

Such a cool gem tucked into a tiny shop! But like they say size doesn't matter. I have scene vinyl I have never scene anywhere else! Each time I visit the shop I come home with a new treasure! And Manuel the owner has an incredible knowledge of music, bands and the record industry! Full of interesting facts about your favorite artists and record companies. A must see for any record fan living in the area or just passing through! read more

This shop is small and new, and for a used record shop that has its advantages. Imagine a much larger record store, and now strip away years of unsold inventory all the way down to the items that move. That's what the stock of records at Traffic is like. That also means that when you find something there you want, you had better get it while it's there. It's family owned and staff are nice, informed, and helpful. It's a good idea to check their Instagram feed (just search for the name of the store) to see what's new. Just expect that the best items likely will move quickly. read more

Amazing record store! Found some unexpected rarities among lots of cool stuff. The owner let me and my husband look through a newly arrived collection of punk 45s even though they weren't priced yet. (This might have been due to the fact that we were from out of town.) Picked out a few from the collection and the owner fairly priced and let us purchase them on the spot. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and just an all around friendly great guy to talk to. Oogled my new records on the 3-hour drive home in anticipation of spinning them when I got home. They ended up sounding great! Will definitely go back when in the area. Thank you Traffic Record Store for the fantastic finds and awesome service. read more

This record store is a gem, through and through! From everyday classics to heavily sought after records, both new and used (amazing funk, soul and jazz sections) and always a nice amount of drum breaks hidden in there too. The owner, Manuel, is unbelievably knowledgeable in all genres of music and a stand up guy. Sometimes I go to shop for the records and other times simply to chat with the owner. Atascadero has needed this for years and he hit the nail on the head. Highly recommend this place to anyone passing through. read more
