Signed up for a free karate session for our son, received an email confirming time and date, text message to confirm time and date, a phone call a day prior to confirm we were going and another text message 1 hour before the session again confirming time and date. We arrive 15 minutes early and the doors were locked. We called 3 times while we waited. Waited till 7:15 (15 minutes after the session was suppose to start) until we decided to leave and left me to leave this rating. My son was very excited to try this out and was left crushed. If something came up you could have called, texted, or emailed as you did to confirm this session but we received nothing. Left to find somewhere else to take our kid, we were going to try here because of the good things we heard. This was very unprofessional to say the least! If you are going to try here you might want to call and confirm with a human being. Don't trust their confirmation system, texts or emails. read more

Absolutely fantastic dojo. My son was enrolled for a year and loved going to karate. Sensei Slicker and all of the instructors are excellent with the kids and patient beyond belief. What I loved the most about their program is that it's not just about learning karate moves - it's about being a better person and teaching them life lessons. I sincerely was saddened when my son told me he wanted to quit so he could do soccer over the summer, and there's a big piece of me hoping come fall he wants to get back in with Traditional Karate Dojo! read more

This place is great! The instructors are awesome with kids. They keep the kids engaged and make it fun for them. You can tell they have a passion for working with kids. My daughter loves going here. She is learning discipline, hard work, and to set goals for herself. Highly recommend if your child is interested. read more

My son first heard about Traditional Karate Dojo on Halloween several years ago when Sensei Slicker was passing out candy to kids at Trunk or Treat. A few months later we signed him up for his trial classes and he has been going strong ever since. Sensei does a really great job preaching about practice and discipline while still keeping it fun for the younger kids! As our son has gotten older and progressed through his belts, it has stayed challenging and engaging, deepening his interest in karate. For those that are looking for more than just a weekly karate class, there are plenty of other opportunities to learn more. Semi-annual tournaments, special board breaking sessions, karate seminars, and even a summer picnic are some of the other things that make the dojo special. I strongly recommend anyone who is interested or has a child that is interested in learning karate to stop in and talk to Sensei! He is very approachable and has surrounded himself with other people that are also as helpful and good with the kids as he is. read more

Sensei Slicker is amazing with our son and the rest of the kids that he works with. Our son started quite young, at only 4 years old. Our concerns of beginning at this age quickly went away when we watched Sensei keep his "Little Dragons" active, working hard, and learning while still laughing and having fun. As our son has advanced we've noticed an internal motivation and seriousness develop in him. This is surely from Sensei Slicker's dedication to his students and his Dojo. Our son has grown from a wobbly, wiggly, little guy that couldn't stand on one foot without falling over (let alone kick while doing it) into a dedicated student of the martial arts. Great place to learn Traditional Karate. I have twin 5 year olds that really enjoy learning from Sensei Slicker because he is very informative while making it enjoyable for the kids.
