You walk into a cold and empty-feeling showroom with antique cars and walk to the service desk. They have been friendly. When you pick up the car you have to go to the cashier who knows nothing about cars or any details about the work performed, and if you have any specific questions, you need to stand in the service line again. Today one parts person was very helpful and the other was useless.

That transaction turned out to be much more complicated than expected because the seller provided inaccurate and incomplete paperwork. Both Sr. and Jr. were patient and professional. Because of their experience, they were able to unravel the issue and resolve it. Lohr's probably invested 3-4 hours on our title transaction and charged us a very fair and honest price for all their work and their expertise. More recently, we were closing on a property sale and needed to have some documents notarized. We actually took the documents to another Notary first. After watching my wife and I spend about an hour reviewing 240 pages of documents to make sure everything was in order, the Notary finally mentioned their price, which was $15 per notarization. In the end, this transaction would have cost us almost $200 for their services. I remembered Lohr's and called them on my cell phone. Jim Jr. picked up. He let me know they had closed for the day, but even so, he asked about our situation. I explained we had a very short window to have the documents notarized and then delivered overnight. He probably recognized the stress in my voice. Without hesitation, he offered to drive back to their office and open just for my wife and I to get our documents notarized. When we walked in, I noticed the engraved sign on the counter, detailing all their fees for various services. As Jim Jr. worked through the documents carefully, he pointed out several missing initials, which we then corrected. He explained the entire process and his fees, even though they were clearly posted. He was thorough, courteous and respectful of our time constraints. When it came time to figure the bill, Jim Jr. charged us a flat fee for all of the work, rather than a per document fee. He explained that the 'per document' fee makes sense when a customer has only a few documents to be notarized. However, he recognized that because our two documents included 6 notarizations each, that it would be fairer to charge a flat fee rather than per document. He wouldn't have had to do that. Honestly, at that point my wife and I were so grateful that he was willing notarize the documents on our very tight timetable, that we would have gladly paid the higher fee. In the end, we paid less than half of what we would have been charged at the other place, even though the personal service we received was 10x greater. In this day and age, customer service is almost non-existent. It is rare to find a business of any size that is truly willing to put the customer experience ahead of everything else. Lohr's certainly did that and more. They take a personal interest in their customers and that made all the difference to us. We are customers for life and greatly appreciate the honesty and integrity of both Jim Sr. and Jim Jr.

I discovered a 300 at Frey Dodge in Lewistown Pa! 160 miles away. Amid the Covid 19 crisis I began corresponding with Roberta (Bobby) at the dealership via email. She was very responsive and accommodating, since I had "many" questions about the car along with request for photo's trying to make sure I wasn't wasting my time traveling 160 miles. The dealership was able to make me feel confident that the car was worth the trip and purchase and even negotiated on the price. So, 160 miles later, I met Bobby, who was professional, polite and friendly. I purchased the car and was done with the transaction in 30 mins. As I was walking out of the door the owner came out and thanked me for the purchase and trusting them with such a long drive. Then the VIN # was never transferred for the Mercedes app so I had to go to another dealer for this (who I will go to for future purchases). CarPlay still is not working. I called to set up an appointment around 2pm and was told by JR (body shop manager) that he could take me the very next day! I was so shocked and happy. I brought my car in the next morning. JR and the rest of the staff were very kind as I had no clue what I was really doing. JR called me when it was finished and even called the insurance company on my behalf to complete payment while I was attending class. When I picked up my car, it looked amazing. They washed it too - which was a nice bonus because even my own dealership won't do that unless I specifically ask! I was extremely thrilled with JR's service and the entire experience with Blaise.
