Completely blown away. My husband and I live in Austin, Texas. But we did a little road trip to the…read moreLawton/medicine Park area because we wanted to go to the Witchita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Saturday was our big "do everything" day, since this was just a weekend trip. So we hiked one of the most difficult hikes in the refuge, and then rewarded ourselves with dinner afterwards at this place. I am a vegetarian/near-vegan (I eaten mostly vegan except for maybe a few things here and there on rare occasions, but never any meat). Anyways, I had no idea that this place had even existed until I did a little Google search on healthy spots around the Lawton area. And I was so excited to find this place. We walked in on a Saturday evening, probably around 6:30 or so. The place was almost empty. You are allowed to pick your own seats, so we picked a nice cozy little booth right next to the front door. They have an extensive drink menu (alcoholic, and non-alcoholic), so that was pretty cool. I had originally wanted to try their apple cider, but I was told that they were out unfortunately. So instead i got one of their mango green iced teas. All of our drinks were served in mason jars, which personally I absolutely love. I drink out of jars and repurpose jars all the time at home, so I love seeing it at restaurants too! My husband ordered their cashew cheese nacho plate, and I was very curious to try their carrot dogs. They have three different types of carrot dogs, you can order them separately, or you can order all three of them as like a plate. So I went ahead and ordered all three. I truly did not know what to expect, this is my first time ever having a carrot dog. You would think with me being a vegetarian for 22 years, that I would've tried to carrot dog by now, but no. First time! I was BLOWN AWAY. My husband, who is a flexitarian, was was also blown away. By the carrot dogs. They were absolutely amazing! Him and I shared bites of both of our orders. His vegan cashew cheese nachos were absolutely delicious as well! And they were loaded! They put some type of veggie chili on top and oh my gosh, that chili is divine. Our waitress checked up on us often, as well as the man behind the bar, who I am assuming is one of the owners. He was very friendly and nice to us. We ended our meal with a slice of their strawberry shortcake. It was a bit dense, but very flavorful, and there was coconut, whipped cream on top, which was so so good. I have zero complaints. Everything was absolutely amazing. When we look back on that road trip, and my husband tells me what his favorite part of the trip was - it was this place!! Prior to this trip, there was only one restaurant we loved so much that was far away that we would be willing to drive 5-6 hrs for (from Austin). But now, that number has been bumped to two. It's very unsuspecting from the outside. It kind of just looks like one of those little hole in the wall roadside food joints. But don't let that fool you, this place is hands down some of the best veg food I've had!

Usually on our…read moredrives up to North Texas/Oklahoma, we like to stop at Braums, because we don't have that down in central Texas. But when we saw this place when we were walking around Medicine Park, we decided to forgo Braums, and try cobblestone instead. And it did not disappoint! Trying to understand their handwritten menu took me a little bit of time, but I eventually got it. Their flavors were mostly fruit flavors, but there were a couple of non-fruit flavors to choose from as well. Husband and I decided to try their three scoop combo, with graham crackers and chocolate chips on top, and their bourbon caramel sauce. The ice cream flavors we got were coconut, cheesecake, and I believe something with peanut butter in it. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about their coconut ice cream, because generally, I'm not the biggest fan of coconut ice cream, but I severely underestimated it. Their coconut flavor was probably my favorite one out of all of the flavors! For the three scoop combo, I believe we paid like six or seven something dollars. While that may seem steep to some, like I said, we live in Austin, Texas, and things are quite expensive there. At some places in Austin, one scoop can equal anywhere from 4 to 5 dollars. So when we saw THREE scoops for 1-2 more bucks? Shoot, that was a deal for us. They have little tables outside you can sit at. And it's right across from the lake which is lovely. We really enjoyed ourselves!

I got a small vanilla scoop added cookie dough came out to $5.44. There are seats outside to eat…read moreyour ice cream. The staff were super friendly when choosing which flavors.
