But Luxury has a replacement jet for $6600.00 additional, take it or lose the house and rental reservations that have been paid. I as to split the cost and the answer was a big NO. The airport and the controllers have moved their touch-and-go pattern from East of the airport…read more(industrial and cemetery area) to West of the airport (residential) over the last several years. This move coupled with the increased number of flight schools training here (looks like 14 now) has created a nuisance over the residential neighborhood that did not exist a few years ago. The airport and its commission are well aware of the problem and for some reason are unwilling to change. It would seem that there is some influence from somewhere causing this. The Republic Airport Commission is in place to work with the surrounding communities and advise the airport on issues like this and others. The commission seems to have lost their identity as an impartial entity. The commission currently consists of an out of touch group, a group of people who have overstayed their alotted time......a group that is supposed to consist of 9 but has only been at 4 or 5 for many years. Senator Martinez was instrumental in making changes to dept of transportation law that mandated certain positions on this committee and where (county, neighborhood, school district) they are supposed to be chosen from. She too is out of touch with the neighborhood surrounding this airport.
