I had some left over and mixed them with my eggs the next morning. The second, and most recent time I was here, they had a chicken pecorino with rice and veggies. The chicken was absolute perfection. Perfectly crispy and moist inside. It was easily cut with the plastic knife I had. The rice was just over the line or too salty but when mixed with the chicken and veggies it all worked. It was a delicious meal. The food comes out pretty quickly, especially if you get the special since it's sitting up front on the line. I don't live nearby so don't get to come here as often as I'd like but I definitely want to try more of their specials. So much of what they post looks amazing. I had Mel's omelette and had to make it a two egg instead of a three egg omelette. The waitress told me that the omelette would be filled "pretty good" and she was right. The omelette comes with bacon, ham, sausage, bell pepper and onions. It also comes with hash browns,two biscuits and gravy. I knew it was too much for me but wanted to taste all. You can order a la carte but the platter is only $1 more. The diner was packed, but the wait is very short. The wait staff is fast, friendly and very attentive. We also bought two muffins. I had the key lime muffin and it was so moist, the filling was not overly sweet or tart, and it was just flat out amazing. The rolls made great little sandwiches and then used with our dinner of pull apart beef. The next day we bought cinnamon rolls, muffins and a loaf of bread. The loaf of bread was probably one of the best breads I have ever had! The muffins and cinnamon rolls were also enjoyed by everyone in our group. If you warm up the cinnamon roll or muffins for like 15 seconds, it tastes like they have just come out of the oven. I am a bit sad that we had to leave and this bakery is not right by my house. I wish this review could include taste and smell. My advice is get there right when they open if you want the bread. We went on Saturday at 8:30 and it was one of the last loafs.
