Trader Joe's Clam chowder on a chilly winter's afternoon topped with scallions & Tabasco. Yum! - (2/9/2021)

During Covid-19 Trader Joe's of Scarsdale has done an exceptional job of enforcing order, cleanliness, plentiful food supplies along with the friendly customer 'service-with-a-smile' that TJ's is famous for. Best to go early (8:00am for elderly 60+) or at 9:00am when they're open to the general public. In the early Spring of March-April 2020, during scary peak Covid times the lines were outdoors all around the perimeter of the entire parking lot! Now that things have finally calmed down, the line is shorter, or practically non-existent with a minimal wait time, thankfully. Thank you, Trader Joe's of Scarsdale for always being fully stocked, customer friendly, with lines moving quickly, and a great place to shop with the best prices! Open 8AM to 9PM Daily, Sundays at 9AM.

I love Trader Joe's and all the locations I've been to. This one location in particular it's the closest to me so I've been here probably 4, 5 times and the staff is always friendly, polite, helpful. This store is much smaller than many others but they have it always well organized. During COVID-19, they have really enforced social distancing, cleaning, sanitizing. I always feel safe when coming to get some groceries. 100% recommended!!!

Shopping at this Trader Joe's location is relatively stress free compared to other locations in the area, which are pretty crowded most all the time. It's not that this particular location is super spacious. In fact, compared to most middle America locations I've visited previously, the store footprint here is much smaller. I actually think it's the small parking lot that keeps things more sane here... which leads me to to the only issue you'll likely encounter when heading out to the TJ's location--the parking lot is tiny! In fact, there is a shopping center a half a block away, and I generally park there and walk over. On a recent visit, I was super impressed by the way this Trader Joe's has handled shopping during covid. There was a line, but it moved rather quickly. Push carts and hand carts were quickly and thoroughly sanitized as shoppers returned them post shopping. And, most importantly, all the shelves were fully stocked! I want to send a final shout out to the staff at this location of TJ's--they are super friendly, and they truly are always on top of things! Kudos to you and the management! We appreciate all you do!

    A tasty and healthy alternative.

Whoever decides to read this, let me warn you, this isn't a typical review this is a personal note from me to Trader Joe's. Like most people I'm in love with Trader Joe's, I admit it I truly do. But with love comes hate. I know hate is a strong word, but I'm in my feelings right now. Why, oh why is it Trader Joe's do you have to discontinue items on the constant? Huh? Tell me, why is that?!? I get all happy when I find that awesome go to healthy or that fat ladened non-healthy snack, then I'm dancing all around my house all happy and euphoric. Then off to Trader Joe's I go to restock and...'What's that you say Team Member?!' It's discontinued?! Poof! Gone, just like that! [shaking both fists, looking up into the sky]..Damm you Trader Joe's!!! You get me all hooked and then you give me withdrawals. That ain't right! Oh wait, I found something else to substitute. Never mind. I love you Trader Joe's! And so the cycle continues. :)

Place is HIGHLY popular! Translation; usually you're waiting on a line -the positive: it goes quickly - just because TJ's is Organized and efficient about keeping the customers moving and flowing from emptying your cart to scanning to bagging and paying! It's very streamlined. The prices are reasonable MUCH more reasonable than that other place, you know, Whole Paycheck... Its my wife's favorite Grocery store. I'm actually a traditionalist when it comes to grocery stores - ShopRite $ Stop & Shop. Any hell, bring your bags for groceries and I can't wait until Covid is through and they bring back the samples at TJ's! Till then, keep on keepin' on!

There was a bit of a wait to go inside but I didn't mind it as staff are working hard to follow social distancing regulations.

Stew Leonard's in Yonkers isn't just a grocery store... it's basically a field trip for adults…read more From the moment you walk in, you realize this is not your average "run in, grab milk, get out" kind of place. Nope. This is a "let me just grab one thing" that somehow turns into a full-on adventure. First stop--the candy shop . I'm not even ashamed to say it brought out my inner kid immediately. Bright colors, endless options... you go in for groceries and suddenly you're debating how many snacks is too many snacks (answer: there is no such thing ). Then you hit the hot food area . The soup bar was steaming like it had something to prove, and everything looked fresh and ready to warm your soul. Perfect for those "I don't feel like cooking today" days... which, let's be honest, is most days. Now let's talk about the pizza station --because WOW. Fresh pies, great prices, and slices that actually look like they were made with love. This isn't gas station pizza... this is "lemme grab one slice" that turns into two... maybe three The olive bar deserves its own moment. The selection is wild--in a good way. Neatly organized, tons of variety, and somehow it makes you feel classy while scooping olives into a container like you know what you're doing. Then you slide over to the butcher section ... clean, premium cuts, and everything looks like it belongs in a steakhouse. If you mess up dinner with meat like that, it's not the store's fault--it's yours The fresh cut fruit section is another win--colorful, fresh, and ready to go. Healthy choices were definitely whispering my name... I just chose not to listen for a little while longer And the dairy section? Rows on rows of fresh milk with that farm-style vibe --it almost makes you feel like you should be wearing overalls while shopping. To top it all off, I grabbed a drink and just stood there for a second taking it all in . Clean store, great layout, and an overall vibe that actually makes grocery shopping enjoyable... which is rare. I could write so much more about this store this review will turn into a novel. I will say whoever came up with the strategic idea of having no aisles, like standard grocery stores, is a hero in the super market industry. The set up doesn't allow you to miss anything in the store. If you shop, you have to travel through every section in a winding, one-way, one-road, colorful and exciting journey through the land of Oz. From the entrance to the cash registers there is no way to skip over anything. Must-see-marketing! Bottom line: Stew Leonard's turned a simple grocery run into an experience. You come in for milk and leave with snacks, pizza, olives, and somehow a whole new attitude about grocery shopping Fresh, fun, and dangerously easy to overspend--in the best way possible. 5 stars all day!

It is such a treat to stop by every few steps to see the singing and dancing avocados, bananas, chickens and so many more characters! For me, I shop the meats section. This time I stocked up on short ribs, and hubby got an aged rib eye. And also they have this produce section where they have bags of "old" veggies. I got a one of these bags today with 4 peppers and a cauliflower which was only $4! Great deal. I need to make sure I will cook it next few days. Overall love stew Leonard's, great for kids and always smells so good when walking in.

However within a few days they had reopened after rearranging the store to make it a much more intimate space with lots more items, produce, as well as all kinds of nuts and desserts. I was also impressed they are opening much earlier in the morning, so one day last week, on my way to work at about 7:15 in the morning, I decided to grab a yogurt and some fresh fruit and maybe a green salad for lunch. When I went to pay, the manager told me that she couldn't sell me the salad, since the date on it was passed (even though the salad looked fresh, and I was willing to pay for it). I was impressed. How many times do you buy a green salad get home only to realize that the date has passed and the salad is no good? While I didn't have time to pick another salad, I decided, I'd return on my way home! Since we were having company over the weekend, I picked out a fresh spinach salad as wells some baby greens and when I went to pay, the manager looked at the baby spinach and told me that if I looked closely, the date for the last day to purchase was that "day" and while the salad looked fine, she told me if I wanted it I should just take it, but that she felt uncomfortable charging me for it. As a result I was able to buy two and get one free but again I left wondering how these folks will be able to stay in business. While I am now a loyal customer, who is urging my friends and neighbors to go and help these wonderful new owners, by buying their exceptional fruits and vegetables p, I remain amazed that a new business can open up where the rents must be very high and still be so concerned about wanting to make their customers happy! One more hot tip: when I was in the store someone had purchased an incredible platter of fresh fruit. While I didn't know how much the person paid, I figured it must be at least $50 bucks, but when I inquired after the man left the store, I was told the entire platter, brimming with fresh cut fruit was only $30. I urged them to chafe more! However in the mean time, for the fruit platters alone, you should drop by and place an order!
