Recently came here to grab food and drinks heading back home from Glen Ellyn. This place looks small at first especially since it's in a strip mall but once you go inside , you could see that this Trader Joe's is pretty huge on the inside. It's got a standard Trader Joe's layout so it's easy to navigate around. Store is pretty pricey when it comes to items. Staff here was absolutely friendly at the checkout! If you're not from the area, I'd say avoid this location. For several reasons. Ugh. First, this is the absolute worst layout in the history of Trader Joe's. It's funky and weird and awful. Just no. This is my favorite grocery store. Things are priced just right. I prefer getting fresh cut flowers from here because of the price and the quality. The produce is of great quality as well. I cannot get over how clean and organize this location is. You can find everything and anything without having to ask anyone where it is. I was on my lunch break and the guy I believe his name was Mike and a lovely girl asked me how my day was going and Mike asked me an ice breaker question on what musician I am excited for this year. We began to chat and I mentioned how I am getting sick of Taylor Swift and we proceed to take about her for awhile and had some laughs along with the other girl! This place is amazing! The last time I was at a trader joe's was when I was a teen and didn't appreciate it as much as I do now. I feel like they have a lot of stuff that you wouldn't really find anywhere else. They have a lot of unique foods which is nice. The foods we got are really good so far. The staff are so nice and friendly and they'll help with anything you need. The store is clean and organized all the time and it's not hard to find anything really. My new favorite place. read more

The layout of this location is a little funky to me (compared to the Naperville one I am used to), but I can still find all the fabulous TJ's products that I love! These products are sometimes a little more specialized that I need (purple maize corn flakes?), but it's interesting if you like variety (keep an eye out in their Fearless Flyer for new stuff and specials). I've come here a few times now since my boyfriend lives nearby, and I could happily make a dinner out of their bread and cheese departments, with some chocolate from their great candy selection for dessert! Trader Joe's! Trader Joe's! Cathy loves Trader Joe's! (I wrote that. Thank you.) This is like the best store. You can get a beautiful bouquet of flowers for like 7 bucks. They have a huge wine and cheese selection and a lot of different foods you do not see in your every day grocery store. They even have dog treats that are good for your puppy! This store is well organized, well lit and has super friendly employees. It's a shame there is not one closer to home. This the ideal store to stop in on your way to a get together to get a bottle of wine or a nice Brie cheese and crackers. They have a nice selection of baked goods and even a seafood section. Their freezer section is quite large as well and offer everything you find at Whole Foods (ie. frozen veggies, potatoes, ice cream options) but at a more reasonable rate. I stopped in just last weekend to grab a bottle of wine and a bouquet of flowers (including a few roses) for my cousin who had us over for dinner. I always hint to my fiance that I wouldn't be opposed to him stopping on his way home from work to grab a thing or two....FLOWERS PLEASE!! When we first started dating, I told him that flowers are a waste of money, but for less than $10 once and a while, he could stop by. :) They occasionally have samples to try different things you normally would think to even buy, but the samples sell the products! Overly friendly cashiers, often some good deals on houseplants. Shopping in A Time of Pandemic, I liked how they tried to enforce social distancing, cleaned everything frequently and most of the employees were wearing PPE. Love this Trader Joe's! The staff is phenomenal! So nice and friendly. They are eager to help if you need it. They have a variety of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian items. This makes shopping so easy. I especially love the Frozen section. This is the place to be when you need to stock up your fridge. The amount of energy it takes to make a meal for my kids after school is time consuming. But with the help of the Frozen section from trader Joe's, it makes life so much easier! I buy the Jasmine rice and pop it in the microwave and boom, 3 minutes later it's done! Then they like to eat it with the seaweed and smoked salmon and make mini sushi rolls. All I can say about Trader Joe's is that I love this place. At least, this location for sure. I am always finding something new to try whenever I'm here. They have really good prices on cheese here with a fairly large selection. I have purchased cheese here where the exact type is dollars more a pound at Whole Foods which is not really surprising. They are always introducing new items to try out. I really like their frozen flatbreads. My only gripe with T.J.'s is that they no longer have their original baguette supplier. I still haven't been to a Trader Joe's store that I didn't like, and this location keeps the streak going. It's a nicely stocked, diligently maintained, the prices are very reasonable, the goods are high quality, and it's a well staffed Trader Joe's store - as good as just about any other. If there's a bad TJ's store out there, this definitely ain't it chief. They have all the expected TJ's exclusive goods, the aisles are nicely spaced, the carts are all in great condition, the lighting is warm, the staff is friendly, and the cashiers are swift. I went to this Trader Joe's on my first visit ever to this establishment. For years I've read glowing reviews about T.J.'s and the many products, mostly exclusive to their stores and finally decided to go and see what the attraction was. I was more than pleased. Marissa was the first person I spoke to, asking for help finding certain products. She was friendly, helpful and offered suggestions for other things that might interest me. If you've not shopped a Trader Joe's yet ... WELL WHY THE HECK NOT?! Stop reading this and go! Shopping a TJ's is like a treasure hunt. It's a lot of fun to explore unique and tasty food items at good prices. You'll find things here you may not find anywhere else. You will get hooked on some products. Best peanut butter anywhere. And you better have them hold a few boxes of Candy Cane Jo-Jo's for you around the holidays if you don't plan to get there when they unload the truck. Hands off the Stroopwaffels! Those are mine! TJ's is also a great store for finding organic foods, ethnic foods, gluten-free or dairy-free items. TJ's is a great place to source bargains on wine. "Wine Guy' (we don't know his name) is usually there on Saturday and seems to love to teach the interested about wines & fortified wines. If I take the time to talk with him (and try samples) I always learn something new (and leave with more bottles than intended). I can usually get wines that I really enjoy for $6-$8. For $10 or $12, I can buy something exceptional. I don't find TJ's to be as competitive for beer. Know your prices before buying here. Sometimes TJ's is cheaper and sometimes not. Binny's is next door. The only thing I avoid buying here are specialty cheeses. With a few exceptions, I've not been pleased with the quality. Better to purchase from Whole Foods (Wheaton) or the new Standard Market (Westmont). The staff here are helpful. They will help you find things, carry things, tell you when items will arrive. The entire staff seems to be educated about the products and they will tell you if they found them to be exceptionally good or less than stellar. BTW, There are usually samples of new items in the back. Look for the tiki hut. The staff here are also exceptionally friendly. They will carry on a conversation with you about 3-Buck Chuck, peanut butter pretzels, or the weather for the umpteenth time that day just to be friendly while they ring up your items. This location is always busy and the aisles in the store (and in the parking lot) are not large. So be on the lookout for your neighbors' cart or car. It's a traffic jam. But it's a friendly crowd. Greeting, I am a customer that shops at this location? I've been a customer for 8 or 9 years if not more. Trader Joe's was one of my favorite stores. I used to love coming to this location when Nicole was the manager Nicole was great! Nicole was awesome! Nicole was kind and friendly. So much has changed since Ali has been the manager at this location. the energies are off, the customer service are not welcoming. the people are not nice/kind. whenever I walk in the store I could feel the negative energies. I experienced racism with Ali the manager and with erin at the customer service desk. I had to stop talking to Erin because of her ignorant behavior. I requested to speak to someone else. previous before that I had applied for a position at trader Joe's about 7 or 8 times not thinking that Ali had something personally against me. But I did give my paper application to 3 different managers on 3 different occasions. I follow up with Ali and Sochi. He gave me a bunch of excuses, he also lied numerous times. Afterwards I took my concerns to the trader Joe's headquarters. I talked to Carrie and I requested to talk to the director, which took me to call a total of 7 times before I talked to the director Sochi. so I talked to the director trying to share my concerns. sochi hangs up on me, not letting me get a word in. I've applied for other trader Joe's locations, and I have not got hired. There's no legitimate reason that I should not get higher with all my experience. I have 25 plus years experience in customer service 25 plus years experienced in retail grocery and cashier. I have 20 years experience in Lead/Management/Supervisor. There's no reason why I shouldn't be given an opportunity. I know that it has something to do with me reporting how poorly I was treated when I came to trader Joe's, and I also feel like it has something to do with me Calling trader Joe's headquarters. I have talked to an employee that works at this location. That employee has worked for trader Joe's for 12 years overall. The employee tell me that THIS LOCATION IS THE ONLY LOCATION THAT HE HAVE WORKED FOR, THAT GOES AGAINST DIVERSITY. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT RECENTLY, BLACK EMPLOYEES WERE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER LOCATIONS. I find it disturbing, and beyond disrespectful that I was treated differently because I'm AFRICAN/BLACK. AFRICANS/BLACK PEOPLE SHOULDN'T SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. As much as I love Trader Joe's, I definitely love it more on a weeknight than on the weekends. It's a true madhouse and always picked over! This particular location shares a parking lot with a handful of successful businesses. It's usually difficult to park here without someone invading your space. Now the staff here are tremendous! Every single employee I've ever encountered is kind and will go above and beyond to be helpful. It's refreshing! Even the small talk at the register isn't annoying here. It's like they pay attention and try to say something that makes sense for their audience. I'm a definite fan. Some of our favorites from around the store include the prepped veggies, individual salads, pork tenderloin, all the cereal, the juices, the way more chocolate chip cookies, the chicken potstickers, the gyoza dipping sauce, the tempura chicken, the ice cream cookie sandwiches, the dark chocolate covered pretzels...need I say more? I have yet to come home with something we didn't enjoy from Trader Joe's. I only wish there was one closer to home. read more

Parking lot is terrible.. The store is good.. if it's all jammed up in the front, park on the east side of the building. Great for certain items, while they have some fresh produce, it's not a fresh food store. Meats are all pre-packaged as are many of the veggies. A lot of organic products at good prices. No huge selections of anything.. these are small stores selling mainly private label goods. Even though they are owned by Aldi, it doesn't seem as if the company has ruined them. I can't do any real grocery shopping here, We like their cereal bars, trail mix, flowers, 1 LB BELGIUM CHOCOLATE BARS, cheeses (great prices on Swiss Gruyere.. $11.99 lb here vs $20+ everywhere else), crackers and assorted dairy. I used to buy their flash frozen fish, particularly Mahi-Mahi but their prices have gone up and their quality diminished. They've moved to selling a lot of the junk fishes like Barramundi (is Swai next?) Also used to buy coffee here, but have found that World Market carries better coffees at better prices. Trader Joes is generally fun to shop at, as long as you avoid the crowded days and know what you are looking for. Expectations play a big role in rating a store like this. read more

Wanted to share what a great shopping experience that I had at Trader Joe's yesterday in Glen Ellyn. They had three employees outside wiping down both shopping carts and single carrying baskets, implementing social distancing with an employee holding a 'back of the line' sign to ensure that everyone received a freshly wiped down shopping cart or basket. Inside the store, there were cheerful & friendly employees everywhere wiping everything down. They are also implementing a 2 item per customer rule which helps ensure that there are groceries for everyone! They also had signs posted that they restock every morning. The best customer service I have ever experienced. My wife and I always prefer to go here first for our grocery shopping and then else where. The associates who work there are very helpful and very courteous. They have very nice options for clean ready to eat foods. Also love their wine collection, cheap and good quality. My wife is a big fan of their Brussels sprouts salad, baby kale, hummus dressing, peanut sauce dressing and I am a big fan of their sample (Wide grin). Come here instead of any other grocery store first for the following reasons: Store is smaller so less of a headache and the food they have tastes good. I feel like the employees here taste the food before they carry it. Others stores carry some nasty tasting pre packaged foods ex- dips/spreads. They have more selection at other stores, but half their items are crap. Bigger does not mean better. Higher quality food for affordable prices Pre packaged foods are fresh and are really good. Favorite salad is persimmon salad with goat cheese, pomegranates, and nuts Cheese selection - excellent - Italian truffle cheese yummy. Employees all of them are super helpful and friendly Never long lines in check out. Way cheaper then Whole Foods, Jewel. Produce is fresh. They carry hard to find condiments; ghee (clarified butter) cheaper than Whole foods and Indian markets, Manuka honey same way cheaper than Whole Foods, agave nectar, chia seeds, etc One item thus far that surprised me they did not have was sucanat pure dried sugar cane juice. read more

I really like this store. Generally clean, friendly people. Tonight I have to rate the lack of compassion by the store manager in time of crisis. My daughter and I walked up to the store tonight at exactly 7pm, no joke 6:59 on the approach to the door by foot. Followed by an 80 year old man who had dropped off his wife then parked the car. No one else behind us or pulling in... store manager stuck out her hand at the door and said the store had closed at 7. I checked my watch. Yup it was 7. JUST TURNED 7!!! I told her I needed one thing. She said no it's 7. Really lady??? There was no one behind us coming in and we were in the middle of a national emergency. Trader Joe's is NOT what it used to be! They have gone downhill and it breaks my heart! We used to shop there weekly, sometimes going twice a week. The staff is still friendly, but management has shown a lack of caring! Every time I purchase fresh produce there they are filled with moisture. The fresh produce lasts hardly 24 hours before it turns moldy. I have had quite a few experiences with the fresh produce - from cutting into a bell pepper and having a mouth fly out. I have cut into a bell pepper and have the inside black with mold. The fresh greens in the bags start to smell and turn wet one day after opening. The organic romaine lettuce always has bugs inside the leaves. I don't know what is going on with their fresh produce but it doesn't last anymore. The other problem I have is that when you are vegan and gluten-free Trader Joe's only focuses on only one or the other they do not accommodate for both allergies like they used to. They will have vegan products but load it with wheat. They cannot seem to hold onto products and when you go back for the products the next week... they've discontinued them. I have asked management they said they will go ahead and make their own version if they can't get products anymore, but then the problem is is that it's not going be both gluten-free and vegan it's only going be one or the other. There's truly nothing to really eat there that not only stays fresh but also accommodates multiple allergies. We have learned that Whole Foods is truly the place to go that offers lots of organic non-GMO products that also accommodate to multiple allergies. Whole Foods also knows how to keep their products on the shelf and not discontinue them! I have talked to the management at Trader Joe's bringing in multiple items to return that have turned moldy and the management just shrugs their shoulders and says that it was just bad luck. Trader Joe's is as good as it gets! You can tell a lot about a business with how engaged the employees are. Not only are employees always chatting with the customers, they are always GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND to meet the customers needs. Plus Points: -The fresh and robust beautiful flower wall (You actually want to buy them!) -The amount of organic produce -Tons of coffee (the cold brew with chocolate milk is great!) - Have you ever tried their tuna in olive oil? It is hands down the BEST tuna in a can. -The dry fruits and nut mixes are on fire! -Freezer aisle has several different options to pick from. A different cuisine per night. A lot of vegan options. -You always feel welcomed and appreciated! (Those Hawaiian shirts though - adorbs!) -They are owned by Aldi! Negative Point: -The parking in this area is horrible. But any place where you see a Trader Joe's, please expect the parking lot to me full. Which is great for marketing but annoying for the customers. I hadn't been to Trader Joe's in over a year but was in the area recently and needed protein bars so decided to stop in. I was pleasantly surprised by the large assortment of protein bars they carry and also by the cheap prices (compared to other places). They also offer boxes of protein bars in addition to individual bars. I also noticed that another item I purchase frequently (Ezkiel bread) is cheaper at Trader Joe's than elsewhere. Their food is amazing, and they guarantee that if you ever buy something from them and don't like it, you can get your money back (I've never had to do that, though--they have really good stuff!). Also, everything is really reasonably priced. I went shopping last week and spent only $53 on a ton of food--enough to last me over a week. The staff members are incredibly friendly, and their selection of food is pretty big. They do skimp a little on the non-dairy cheese (there's only one choice), and they carry only 2 or 3 different brands of vegetarian/vegan meat alternatives (they are missing Smart Ground, which is my favorite), hence the 4 stars instead of five. Otherwise, they have everything: vegetarian, vegan, raw, gluten-free, wheat-free, low glycemic index, etc., as well as regular old meat & cheese (sans antibiotics), veggies, snacks, and desserts. I'd highly recommend: Trader Joe's Roasted Garlic Hummus (unbelievable), the stone ground wheat crackers, Buckaneer Booty in white cheddar, any of the sushi, Very Green Juice Blend, Trader Joe's Organic Chocolate Soy Milk, Food for Life Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted grain bread, and of course, Trader Joe's all natural peanut butter. Their wine is affordable and high-quality, and their natural chocolate (especially the one with whole hazelnuts) is yummm. Also, it's good to know that their produce is super-fresh. I have been to this Trader Joe's many time and have always had a great experience, but was very disappointed tonight. Walked up to the door at 5:15 and employees standing inside unlocked the door to tell us they were closed. We thanked them and walked away thinking ok they closed early because it was New Years Eve.
