Went to deli and got london broil meat. Then asked for pound of macaroni cheddar cheese. It looked congealed so i asked if he could stir it up. When i got home thru it away it was rancid. Noticed most things looked like not touched. That should have been my question. Then went by sushi and asked for one without avocado. He said he had shrimp so i took 2 of these normally has cucumbers and cream cheese. Guess what nothing but piece of fried shrimp nothing else and when i got that home also smells bad. So lesson learned. Sadly store was dead. read more

Standard Mariano's except their shopping carts are different from the one in Westmont and Naperville. The shopping carts look newer. Other than that, everything is basically the same. I know people complain about the cashiers and baggers but I always go to the self checkouts. I never had any bad experiences there. As for the produce and meat, you have to use your senses. Don't buy the first one you see, inspect it before putting it in your cart. This one also has a gas station like the Westmont location. read more

The flower department Florist, Anna, is amazing!! I went in before work today and she's busy already. I asked for help, she greeted me nicely, helped me pick a vase within my budget, and helped me arranged my flowers free of charge!! I'm so thankful of her, who brightens my day. read more

Here lately I've been coming home to find some of my groceries missing. Therefore having to go back to the store. Sometimes it's been a week after I put the frozen meat away I go to look for it and it's gone. Vanished into thin air. This is twice in one month. I've searched the cars, freezers and everything else where you'd think groceries can hide. I'm seriously getting tired of my stuff getting left at the cash register. Plus last week the bagger got snippity with my son and yanked the cart out of his hand. I get it if you hate your job seriously quit. And what about my missing groceries? Why should I have to do self check out to insure my paid for food actually doesn't get left behind. I've returned rancid meat once before too. This store gets one more chance before I cross it off my list forever. read more

Not sure what's happened over the last 1 1/2 years or so. 1. Times I've come in midday & of the 5 soup options, at least 2 aren't full. 2, Hot bar? WOW!!!!!! Food has looked dried out and in some cases, almost ready to take another life form. Some of the new additions are good though. 3. Deli and cheese areas are still fantastic. Always been a fan of Mariano's grocery stores and it was our go to when living in Chicago. Since making the move out to the 'burbs, I'm glad this location isn't too far from our new place. Produce is usually fresher than what you'd find at Jewel and they always seem to have nice clearance deals on items throughout the store. Similar to other Mariano's I've been to in the past, this one does have a bar as well, so you could grab a drink and enjoy while you shop around. That's all I got on this one. I moved to IL recently and would only shop at Costco and Jewel Osco, but thankfully I found Mariano's. We don't have Mariano's back where I'm from, but from the outside and first walk around, it felt like a Whole Foods. Mariano's has a small bar with two TV's where you can watch games (so cool), ready to eat food, PLANT SECTION!!!, and more. I was expecting to pay Whole Foods prices but Mariano's is cheaper, surprisingly! Costco is awesome but obviously you'd need to buy in bulk. I've found prices at Mariano's have consistently been cheaper or equal than the items I buy from Jewel Osco. They have a lot of sales so keep an eye out. There is a beauuuutiful plant area with a variety of items: succulents, fiddle leaf figs, tineke, orchids and more. I got so so lucky and found this 5" stromanthe triostar with a lot of variegation!!! Can't forget to mention, the employees here are always so kind and helpful. Thank you. If you need a change up or feeling adventurous, give Mariano's a try for your next grocery trip! read more

Very poor customer service especially when I find out that two members of the management staff blatantly lied to me. I ordered two burger patties from their grilling station asked for them to be cooked medium. they were burnt so bad they we no longer round. I never left the store with them. It took them back to the grilling station and it happens that one of the managers just happened to be talking to the cook. They both tried to convince me they are not burnt I rubbed my palm on oner of the burgers and my hand was covered in black soot. The manager said some people like them that way. I asked her if she likes her burgers crunchy and she shook her head feeling insulted. We went up to the customer service desk and her and another manager said with out the receipt they could not refund me. I said the receipt is in the trash can you look it up since it's only been a few minutes and I am a member of they rewards club. They both told me it is impossible for them to look that up which lI found out the next day was a complete lie. The general manager informed me they could have looked it up if they wanted to. read more

I am a musician passing through. I was looking for a place to have a coffee and do some writing, and also pick up healthy snacks. There's a Starbucks inside the store with an absolutely gorgeous seating area. And the grocery store itself is full of healthy options. The store was clean, the 80s jams had me tapping my toes, there's a grand piano in the corner and I'm sorry I didn't get to hear anybody play it. Pretty cool grocery store. I would definitely come back if I were in the area. read more

When not shopping at Aldi who which has a very a limited selection but great pricing, Mariano's is my favorite grocery store in our area. This one is not close to home but we went to see cousins at their new home and stopped here to pick up a "housewarming" plant. They really have a nice selection in their floral department - some beautiful irises and, since it was spring, lovely tulips. Other than floral, this Mariano's, like others I've been to, has a great selection of produce, fresh fish and meats, and other items you would expect from a large grocer. read more

Decline in quality and care of store has been rapid and noticeable. Specialty food and prepared section has been placed with items simply to occupy the space. It's sad to see this once specialty grocery retailer go downhill. read more

This location is our go-to grocery store for fresh food (I emphasize "fresh" because Wal-mart is my go-to for packaged food, brand name items, and most other consumables) and we nearly always have a good experience. Sure, I've experienced some items being out of stock and some items spoiling quickly but it's the same experience had at Whole Foods and other grocery stores that sell fresh/organic/etc. But overall they do a decent job with selection and availability. I'd like to see the organic produce offering increase but generally speaking they have most of what we buy. Let's not forget the staff: every single visit I have had the staff has be friendly and helpful. They are more than happy to answer questions and personally guide you to items you are looking for. Finally, we've used ClickList on many occasions and overall the experience has been positive. I, personally, still prefer to do my own shopping but the option has come in hand in a pinch. This is a solid Mariano's location and we will continue to frequent it on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future. read more

I just went to Mariano's to do some shopping and of course the lines were long because there wasn't enough registers open. So I went to self check out with my items. One of those items is a 40 pack of water. So I ask the attendant if there was a scanner or if she could type in the code so I didn't have to lift this very heavy item up. She told me no, no other options. Didn't offer for someone to come help or find another way just said no you have to lift it out of the cart at manage to line up the small bar code while struggling to hold it up. This Mariano's definitely came out after they rolled out a few around Chicagoland! A lots puts this Mariano's ahead of the others. There's a Starbucks, a bar, new and more hot meal and salad bar items, gas station, and the grocery pick-up option has its own space. To me most stores simply differ by their product and not much differ by price. However, this Mariano's is changing my grocery shopping experience: - COOK: I'll go to the meat counter and they'll cook meats for me. I'll take them home and reheat or start a few quick sides and I'm done. - BAR: The bar has a happy hour. Getting groceries after work got a little easier, especially with the carts that have a cup holder. I also won't miss some of the games here because there are a few TVs. - Specialty Sections: Granola section, spice shop section, fresh peanut/almond butter station, outside food station (during warm months) and a walk in cooler for beverages. I just wish I felt like I got more from the perks card. Hopefully the data they get from me is helping their system improve though. You should feel confident coming to this Mariano's. I usually point people their way when I'm asked about where they should go. read more

It's new, so I'm going to let them work out their kinks. But so far, it's extremely clean and the employees were more than helpful. It's pretty identical to the one on York street, except there's a sub making area and you can drink wine there. While I will most likely make my way here if I'm looking for Italian ingredients I can't say their prices are any better than Pete's just down the street for everyday ingredients. Even things like cage free eggs/chicken are cheaper at Pete's. I can say, however, that I love their new meal for $10 or $7 (depending on protein like prime rib vs salmon) in their cold deli area. You can get a complete meal for one and choose your own sides. Pretty cool idea! read more

This is my regular store and I mostly enjoy shopping here. They have a great selection, including things I don't see elsewhere. The deli and butcher sections are terrific and they always have really good, fresh juices in their prepared food cases at the front of the store. The one complaint I have (and it's a big one) is their new obsession with self-checkout. It's awful. It takes longer than a staffed checkout line and I ALWAYS have trouble with them. I also always bring my own bags and there's always an issue with them and you have to WAIT AND WAIT for someone to come over and help you. I once had one piece of produce that rang up for more than $100 so you have to wait for them to come fix that too. I don't like self-checkout in principle but at grocery stores it's just asking for trouble -- more trouble than it's worth. I saw another post where someone said they don't know that they get anything with the shopper card. I always buy my gas there and consistently get 10 cents off per gallon and have gotten enough credits for $10 off a couple of times. read more

I just tried a pick-up order for the first time. It was clear that Mariano's does NOT have their act together with such orders. The biggest problem was that they charged me for about $50 worth of items that they did not include in my order! Fortunately, they did give them to me when I called back to complain. it looks like the person who picked the order just got one of things even if I ordered two or more. It also looks like they don't scan item as they pick them, which helps ensure accuracy. Their system appears to be manual, with the shopper working off a list and then manually recording discrepancies. Some of the produce items were obviously the "bottom of the barrel" type, which I'd never buy due to age/bruising. The shopper waited until the end of loading the cart to call to tell me what she couldn't find. Meijer texts the customer right away, so they can make substitutions according to what the customer wants, now what the shopper guesses might be a good substitute. I gladly tip the shoppers at Meijer because they do a better job - the shoppers at Mariano's don't get tips so they don't do as good of a job. The staff who brought the groceries to my car were abrupt and rude. When asked simple questions, they just walked away. Also, one of them walked right up to my face - not following social distancing. She had a mask on, but there's no way I want to get that close to a stranger due to the virus. I won't be returning to this store. read more

Why are there only five stars available to select from? What can I say about this place that isn't over the top and to be completely in love with? Customer Service: the friendliest people. The guys behind the meat counter, the lady behind the deli counter, the very helpful gentleman who helped me find the very specific brand of beans I was trying to find. The pharmacist. The high school/early college looking cashier at the register. I love it! Lines getting long? More registers opened! The bakery/deli/meat/salad bars/etc: anywhere with a counter. The displays? Beautiful! Aesthetically pleasing! The food? Wonderful! Clean! Constantly reorganized by the dedicated staff. Organization: Everything is easy to find. Ethnic foods organized by region. Clear, easy to read signs. Liquor area: cold liquors? no problem! Got a big old walk in fridge. Need wines? Multiple aisles. Need something to go with your alcohol? Oh look, the fine cheese are conveniently located right next door! If I could go here every day, I would go here daily. Special shout out to the salad bar and the soup station. Perfection. read more

Second time shopping here....only two cashiers for large amount of groceries who were unbelievably slow...told them not to pack the paper bags too heavy because it's hard for me to lift them....he did..I could scan and bag faster than the two employees...when I have a cart of $200 of food when I'm shopping by myself it's not easy to accomplish the self check out.....not sure if I'll be back. read more

But what I did see here, I liked! - They have their own gas station - They have a Starbucks on site, as opposed to the usual Vero Coffee I've seen at other sites. - They offer Hello Fresh meal kits to go, no subscription necessary! - Their hot bar offered a few options I'd never seen before like hush puppies. We were satisfied with the quality of hot bar items, the abundance of each item (nothing was picked over) and the overall vibe of the store. read more

BEWARE: I Purchased groceries from MARIANO's LOMBARD IL for home delivery. Groceries were never delivered to me so I Called them and They said that the groceries were delivered to a wrong address and that a refund will be forthcoming however it has been two weeks and I still have not received it. Made many phone calls to them and they just keep telling me that it was issued and to wait a couple of days, very upset and still have not received my refund. The amount was charged on 10/20/21 and has not been refunded as of 11/3/21. Very poor customer service kept putting me on hold. Asked to speak with a supervisor and they put me into voicemail. I finally had to file a dispute/claim with my bank in an effort to receive my refund. DO NOT PURCHASE from them or You will regret it If you are entitled to a refund. Went into Marianos with a cake topper and a picture of a cake my granddaughter wanted. Luckily a got a very nice woman in the bakery to help me. She said yes they could do it and even put the cake topper in for me. Well I went to pick the cake up 2 days later and it was even better than I hoped for. We got a lot of compliments on the cake and people asking where I got it made at. Definitely my new place for cakes as this one was beautiful read more

Checker David and bagger John were very sweet and helpful. Great selection on hot and cold bar for lunch. Lots of healthy choices. I should get a Mariano's discount card as I didn't get any of the sale prices. I've only been to Mariano's twice but I'm annoyed with having to give my info to get a discount. Jewel just has sales for all, no loyalty card required. Great location though. Appears new, very clean, spacious. Space to eat-in if you buy your lunch here. No cold Diet Cokes (single serve) to be found but I scored a Diet Dr. Pepper near check-out. read more

Stayed the night nearby and on the way home this morning, we seen the Mariano's on Roosevelt had a Starbuck's. Went to get some coffee there. Maryam was our cashier/barista. She barely said 2 words, slid our coffees to us and practically through the straws, not ever really engaging with us, the customer. When this place first opened up I was super impressed. Over the past almost year I've noticed such a drastic changes and it's so disappointing. I've been to other Kroger grocery stores and other Mariano's and I am beginning to think this is more a location specific issue. They seem to always out of stock of certain items. It's kind of weird but whenever I'm there, they don't carry this or that anymore. I'm talking about things that Target, Pete's or even Jewel seem to carry regularly. Furthermore, they seem to charge more for name brand items than many of their counterparts. I've also noticed that there is a lot of management turnover, which is never a good sign. I also feel like customer service here is very inconsistent as well, which leads to mild annoyance. I'm extremely disappointed by how quickly this store has gone down hill. I was looking forward to a new place to shop outside of Jewel. While it's generally clean, the only items kept in stock is Kroger brand, if there's no reasonable alternative you are SOL. I guess I can't wait for the new Pete's to open up down the road. read more

So they have a hot bar here as well as a salad bar that you can buy your food and eat it for lunch at the store. This is nice. I've done this in the past. So for the second time in a couple of weeks I've come you're wanting to do so. However they're water jugs to get a cup of water with your food are missing. It's been about a week. So I asked the young lady at the counter what happened to the water and she said that both jugs are broken. Well this could be the case, although I find it highly suspect that both jugs broke it exactly the same time. I'm seriously trying not to think that they're just doing this so I'll have to pay two dollars for a bottle of water To drink with my meal. So guys let's get those jugs fixed or replaced ASAP. read more

We have been shopping at Mariano's since they opened in our neighborhood. Usually customer service is good. I was just there at Mariano's in Lombard, Il to get cakes for Mother's day. I was very disappointment in customer care from a manager whose name tag said CAT I bought several cakes to give to mothers on mothers day and asked for paper bags. The girl at check out was polite and told me they don't have any that can be given to customers. I asked her if she could check with her manager if they have some in the back since it is easier to drop off cakes if they are in paper bags. This person Cat comes in, was extremely rude, dismissive, using offensive hand gestures and told me if you care so much buy gift bags This lady had no right to talk to me like that and spoil my mothers day read more

We moved from the city and used to shop at the Mariano's in Ravenswood - which was fabulous. So we were excited to try the Mariano's here. We had some problems getting spoiled meat from the meat counter at the Mariano's on 63rd, so we tried this location. We bought some sirloin from the meat counter, and it had spoiled BY THE NEXT DAY. We've just given up on all Mariano's locations for buying meat. Going to look for a local butcher instead. read more

I was curious to see what the new Lombard Zoo, aka as Mariano's was all about. Lines out the wazoo to check out, people ramming into one another, the parking lot appearing more like a free food emporium than a grocery store. Surprisingly, the only thing inside Mariano's is a grocery store, and not one to write home about. So far, it's spectacularly clean and staff don't seem to mind that they must park across Roosevelt Rd or between FInley and Roosevelt, to come to work. I guess none of the designers thought they needed a place for their employees to park their cars...what's going to happen in winter? A skating rink and dodgem cars before punching in? It's a lack of care for their staff that initially turned me off. Then, once you get past the bars - wine, pizza, chicken, fish - these people make anything and everything as you wait, yet at least the pizza (very mediocre at best) and grilled salmon, was okay, but nothing I have to have. I can grill a piece of salmon just as well, perhaps better. While there's a ton of food ready to be bought in this enclave, the produce is okay from the appearance of it, to the taste. Fruit and fresh veggies are not better here than anywhere else, and in some cases, somewhere else a stones throw in either direction, is better, and at the same price. I don't care to drink wine and buy groceries consecutively, so the gimmick really does nothing for me. Same for the Starbucks. I'd rather go to the drive thru Starbucks several hundred feet away, and be able to give my business to more than one conglomerate. At least there's 2 conglomerate's getting my money. They're building a gas station right outside Mariano's so (I guess) they can capture more consumer dollars in the name of their customers getting a fill up on the way in/out of buying cucumbers and cauliflower. I don't know, this place doesn't do it for me and I left completely overwhelmed, ready to get out of that retail grocery chain. Most of all, I have serious issue with people having to cross an insanely busy street because their employer doesn't want them parking in a safe place where potential customers spending money, can go instead. For my ease and comfort, while staff members brave busy streets to get to work - no thank you. What's wrong with the safe places close to Roosevelt Road? Alas, I rest my case. This store is a big improvement over what was there before (a Kmart that had been closed for years, was falling into disrepair, and had a low, poorly graded parking lot that flooded every time it rained). The new Mariano's looks very nice, has outdoor seating and has a Starbuck's in the store. That being said, I shopped there once to buy prepared dinners and was shocked by the long list of ingredients in the freshly prepared food. I realize this isn't a Whole Foods but still, I do like to eat healthy so probably won't be going back. read more

Lombard has been in desperate need of a new grocery store for a long time. And this site was in need of an overhaul. The Kmart closed over five years ago. And it was ugly even when it was open. So, as both a Lombard resident and a Mariano's fan, I am thrilled that it's open. It has a lot of cool amenities and great offerings. It's not quite my perfect grocery store. There's a lot of good stuff bunched up at the front, the gelato, bakery, guacamole station, produce, Starbucks, etc. Which means the flow there isn't great. The rest of the store is better though I'm confused by the glass doors on so much of the refrigerated section. But the prices are solid, especially with the free loyalty card, and they send you great coupons. The selection is good but I do wish they had a few more Mexican products like empanada wrappers, sopes shells, more frozen Indian and ethnic products. It's a small complaint. Overall this is so much closer to home that I'm sure I'll be here a lot. Yay Mariano's! read more

I am *seriously* loving this new Mariano's! It's on my way home so I pop in around 4 on weekdays and it's not too busy at all. It's honestly one of the nicest, cleanest and well-laid out grocery stores I've ever been too, and I'm a big fan of their prices (just make sure you always use your card to get the sale prices). For example, went last night and bought some Purdue chicken breasts. For nearly 3 pounds, it was on sale for $5.62. I could not believe that price! Honestly, if I was at Jewel I'd be lucky to get that price for 1 pound! These are the kind of great deals I'm finding here. Big fan. And so far their produce has been great. read more
