Best to park in garage where entrance is

This is definitely the best Trader Joe's in the city. They have good parking options with staff assuring it continues to flow. Always restocking things so I rarely go to this location no matter when I'm the week and able to find what I wanted. Staff always working hard and friendly despite the high crowds sometimes! Love this TJ's!

At the beginning of the pandemic TJ's was the only grocery store that did socially distanced grocery shopping right from the get-go. From the way they hand you a sanitized cart to their checking out process. It makes waiting in line more bearable knowing they're trying to keep you safe. If you don't want to wait in line weekdays before noon are definitely the best time to go. I like taking a break between work meetings to head to TJ's and discover what new stuff they have. Their seasonal stuff is always fun to try. Some of my faves recently (old and new): Hold the cone, kung-pao chicken (I actually like this better than the fan fave mandarin chicken because it's easier to make), frozen hash browns (perfection in the air fryer), Cotton candy grapes and Gummy bear grapes (cheaper than you'll find at Whole Foods), everything but the bagel seasoning, spicy chakri mix, cauliflower gnocchi (air fryer!), apple fruit snacks, jalapeño cheddar corn puffs, cassava coconut tortilla chips, and on and on.

I'm a regular customer of this branch. Three weeks ago I purchased and hoarded squid ink pasta because it was new and I was excited. Sadly I tried it twice and it didn't taste anywhere near squid and it was soggy way before its cooking time. I already threw the receipt and I thought I would just return the remaining pasta whether they refunded me or not. Long story short, there were no questions asked and they even refunded me for all the noodles without the receipt. That is excellent customer service and I am a grateful and appreciate the courtesy of being a loyal customer Just like any other Trader Joe's, this one is as lively and filled with everything you need. From the essential groceries to seasonal unique flavors, TJ's got it all. Sometimes I crave going into TJ's just for kicks because it's down the street and I always find more than I need so I guess it's somewhat a dangerous but fun place to do groceries. Love their snacks, love their dairy, love their meats, love their frozen foods, love their cheap wines to have "personal bottle nights". I even drop by sometimes to get their Cold Pressed Greens when I feel like I'm still death from the previous night! Even though this Trader Joe's DO run out of things (like once, they were missing onions???), it's not their fault it gets so crowded and popular being in a busy part of downtown! It is somewhat of a hidden gem because as obvious as it is that there is a Trader Joe's in this corner with the windows saying it's TJ's, the entrance is around the corner inside the parking lot. Just GRATEFUL there's a Trader Joe's around this area because I don't know what I would do without all their TJ classics (actually, I do, I'd make my friends from the west coast ship me the goods).

I love Trader Joe's for so many reasons! This particular location has complimentary parking and a friendly staff - two very important factors! I love unique food choices and this place delivers. From snacks, desserts and frozen meals you can find organic or European options. I love picking up a few things to surprise my sister. I especially love the organic frozen meals or side dishes. I live a lone and appreciate quick meals for one that are interesting and healthy. The wine selection is huge. I always pick up a bottle I've never tried before. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There seems to be a ton of staff too. I never have to look far if I have a question. In a big city where parking is gold, Trader Joe's in Lincoln Park has a congested but free parking lot. Please and thank you!

I love Trader Joe's. This one does not disappoint. Employees are always so kind and helpful. Everything is well stocked and clean. Your typical Trader Joe's experience. I'm here all the time and I love it.

Trader Joe's has the best snacks, refrigerated foods and wine selection. Although I still prefer the traditional grocery store for essentials, I've discovered many TJ exclusive items or TJ branded versions of popular foods, and my favorite part is that they're reasonably priced. The large frozen foods selection covers every ethnic cuisine. In my opinion, they've nailed the Indian food, Soup Dumplings, French Onion Soup, and Scallion Pancakes. I find them comparable or better tasting than other imported options in the market. Recently, I've found that they even have stroopwafels that look and taste exactly like Daelman's! You'll also find everything you need for snacking in the chocolate, cookies and chips department - I've actually made a conscious effort to avoid those items, because I just can't help myself eating everything. It also seems like they're constantly innovating and adapting to current trends. This is a great location, and although I dislike the steep ramp to parking, it beats having no parking!

Sometimes when I'm trying to find "international" ingredients at Mariano's or something it's hit or miss. I found what I needed here and it was a fairly quick trip--I don't think I was in store more than 20 minutes. The store is small, and very very crowded. Aisles are about as wide as a single person facing forward. This isn't a place where you're going to get a shopping cart down an aisle. The prices are good. I got a head of Napa cabbage for 99 cents per pound, and when I go to my neighborhood store it's usually closer to $3-4 or more per pound. Since it was such a steal I added hot and sour soup to my menu for the week. There's a parking lot at this store. It's one way, and you must enter from Archer. DO NOT enter the wrong way or you won't be able to park--the spaces are angled and there's not enough space between the building and the fencing to turn yourself around. There are only about ten parking spaces here so I'm sure it gets filled pretty quick, but when I was here I was the only car parked here. There's street parking which can be pretty chancy, but maybe I'm just speaking from the perspective of someone who was here on a busy Sunday in Chinatown.

A line for grocery store fried chicken? Absolute cinema. People have been recommending I get into fried chicken reviews, and I've resisted as I really don't want to get fat, but this was the perfect storm to start a grocery store fried chicken review journey. I got to the front in the line and felt like a fish out of water. I sheepishly asked the employees, Darius R and Damariea J, what the move was as it was my first time getting fried chicken from here. I thought they'd be annoyed, but they were so helpful and welcoming. "Today is actually wing bucket Friday! A whole bucket is normally $17.99 but today it's $9.99. I can give you some of everything so you can try, but the spicy wings are my favorite." Hell yeah. Darius was the MAN. I took my tissi and wing bucket to the UIC campus for consumption. The tissi was a brick and landed at a 6/10, which currently ranks it 71st out of 94 grocery store birds I've tried, but the fried chicken was INSANE. Darius wasn't lying, the spicy wings were next level. The best grocery store chicken I've ever had. Boomin the Publix fried chicken. Shoutout to the Darius' and Damariea's of the world. Good people. As always, I am looking for new fantastic restaurants, and stores to try out, and share with: family, friends, and on Yelp. As you walk in it seems like a common corner store, groceries in the front, meat towards the rear. When I walked to the back I had a pretty good hunch this would be a great one. The fresh smell, it was very clean, and the amazing eye catching signage. You could feel like you just walked into in a sweet little store in Mexico. When they handed me the food I ordered I knew was on the right track. When I took my first bites I smiled, and knew, I needed to share this place. I was intrigued by the Pozole Verde sign out front. I had never had it before, so I placed my order for that and zero regrets. It comes out in a quart container with a plastic wrapped foam tray with: chopped onions, cilantro, radish, shredded cabbage, and mexican oregano. I added mostly everything but went easy on the oregano. The chunks of chicken were tender and not overcooked. The hominy and vegetables were just right as well. They have this to a science and it has to be near perfect. Now to the tacos: As you often see in neighborhood grocery stores the chorizo was hanging in back above the meat counter, so a house made chorizo taco was a given. The Al Pastor was reccomend by the one of the butchers, and I had a steak taco to round it, and myself, out. All I can say is that like the pozole everything was superb. Even the salsas.. I wish I knew of this place when I worked and lived in the area. I would definitely have known everyone there by name. I still smile thinking of it, and next time I'm in that hood, I will be there. I look forward to trying out a few more menu items, and picking up some of the fresh meat. So maybe don't slap Grandma... but you should at least pick her up and take her out to lunch here. Enjoy! #AlfieEats
