Jen and Jane Sell - Jen and Jane

    Jen and Jane Sell

I am writing this review for Jane Yoder and Jennifer Jenson to help others who might be searching…read morefor a realtor. Reviews have previously helped me when looking for reputable businesspeople, so I would like to pay it forward and provide a review for Jen and Jane. The most important traits I look for when considering business transactions are honesty and trust. I don't want to question someone's motives in a business deal. I can assure you that Jen and Jane will not mislead you in order to make a sale. For the past 12 years that I have dealt with them, above everything else, they wanted to be sure I was happy with my home purchase. This is the second time I have bought/sold with them, which is the greatest testimony that I could possibly give. For three years, I searched for a home in the country. I had specific requirements: an up-to-date house that didn't require a lot of work to make it comfortable, no neighbors close to me, and a property that was low maintenance. I quickly found out that these properties are hard to find. I called Jen and Jane many times to have them show me places, or to get their opinion on whether the price was appropriate. Time and again, they gave me their input on the condition of the homes. They also looked up information and history on the septic systems and what would be required by the county. (I have zero experience with that). They wanted to make sure I wasn't buying something that would become a problem later. Keep in mind that in three years we looked at several places, and that they were not paid every time they did this kind of work. My point is that they never pushed me, and always went through a checklist of things to consider before buying. It was clear to me that their priority was to make sure I was happy with my decision. Whenever I called, they were happy to arrange a showing for me. Three months ago, I found my dream home in the country. Jen showed me the house, was honest about the pros and cons, discussed the price with me, and helped me though the process of making an offer. She was excellent at keeping me posted with details since mine was not the only offer. Within 24 hours of making the offer, my bid was accepted. Jen continued to help me out after the sale and set up another showing so that I could measure the house to make sure my furniture would fit. When it came time to sell my place, once again I relied on Jane and Jen's experience to let me know what things needed to be done before selling. They advised me to have a few things painted and made the arrangements to have it done. They also arranged to have some skylights cleaned and a couple of repairs done. It should be noted that Jane's husband is an excellent resource when it comes to questions about repairs. He has built several houses himself and is experienced in the trades. He was willing to take a look at my place and give his help. Jen and Jane also have connections with reputable tradespeople who do good work. This is invaluable since I am inexperienced, and we were working with a deadline. Jane and Jen both helped me set the price for the sale of my house. I trusted their experience in the market to do this. They held an open house and there was strong interest. They gave me feedback on all the parties who toured the house. When there were individual showings, they sent me emails with the reactions of the prospective buyers. Once we got offers, they discussed them with me and guided me through the process of selling. We made a counter on the offer I chose, and I was pleased with the price. My house sold in less than a month. In summary, I can't say enough good about my experience with Jane and Jen and the help they gave me over the years. They are so pleasant to work with that every encounter with them is enjoyable. If you are looking for realtors with honesty and integrity, you have found them, and you will be very happy if you use their services. I don't plan on selling my dream home anytime soon, but if I do, I will be calling them again!

This greatly complicated our ability to find a home before our existing home sale closed. They are the team you want to work with when finding your new home. Our family highly recommends Jen and Jane. They do not disappoint!

We had a recommendation to an agent by the name of Alexis Reddin and decided to look into her. Unfortunately upon our research even before agreeing to secure an appointment, it was brought to our attention that on her social media pages that advertise her real estate services were very vulgar posts that she had displayed such as stripping, flaunting the use of drugs and alcohol and crude behaviors that we see as very unprofessional and vulgar . It made us go against using this agency because of how she portrays herself in the profession and it made us very very uncomfortable. We are concerned if this is how the real estate agencies want their agents to be portrayed as. Its a very shame because this business seemed promising in helping us find our home. I will not hesitate to pass the word along.

The house was over 100 years old and needed maintenance pretty regularly. For small repairs, AG was very responsive. But recently some larger things began to go wrong and the response was essentially zero. In March, I began to see wildlife, including stray cats, in my basement. After looking around the perimeter, i found that the foundation was beginning to collapse. AG sent a maintenance tech to look at it. They removed a plywood barrier in the basement and showed me that the wall was also collapsing inside. This was where animals were entering. The plywood was secured so that they could not enter the basement's main area and then nothing else was done, no further communication. Three months later, I noticed a hole in the plywood and again saw animals in the basement. An unknown creature chewed on wiring down there as well, causing a dangerous situation with the furnace running out of control. Temperature in the home reached over 100 degrees that day. AG again sent a tech to look at the basement. This time I asked for a timeline, as the situation was becoming really concerning and potentially dangerous and unsanitary. I was told they could not fix the issue and would do nothing until the owner approved. So at this point I have lived with a literally collapsing foundation and animal intrusion for 3 months. I then called Neighborhood Code, who found a slew of other violations in the home. A condemn and vacate order was issued and i moved out. AG was able to satisfy the items on the condemn order which included a sewage leak and unsafe wiring and just barely avoided the house being condemned. Not one person in their office apologized to me or asked if we had a safe place to go. There was absolutely zero compassion for me and my family. Their response has been to threaten me with the terms of the lease (by text message of course), as though the property can be rented to anyone in this condition. The foundation is still collapsing, outlets are not compliant in kitchen and bathrooms, none of the windows on the first floor are functional, etc., etc. Avoid at all costs. This is slumlord behavior. I wish I could give zero stars.
