I have been getting gates and fences from Tractor Supply for over a decade. They are great quality at a decent price. Recently I got dairy goats as pets and they eat alfalfa. 1/31/26 Bought a $3,500 mower online, paid the extra $100 to have it delivered. The next day, it was to be delivered but the guy (seemed like Door Dash type delivery) said he can't unload it. Well, he never picked it up, it was still at the store. After speaking with the store (several times to figure out what happened), they said to pick it up personally because most the delivery people are in regular cars and only one guy on a certain day can pick it up in his truck to deliver large items. We went in on 2/1 to pick up the mower, they were to credit the extra $99.99 fee for delivery, since we made the trip. I watched for the credit to post on our TSC account. This never happened and I called the Windsor store numerous times (since they were originally working with us) but no return call. We also realized they over charged us $499 on the mower. I called again today to hopefully and finally get this fixed and spoke with John (at the Windsor Store), and received the worst customer service. After explaining a bit of what we went thru, I was told I should come in to the store, since it is quicker for him to fix with with me there, than over the phone. I said, so we have had all these issues, were over charged, charged for delivery, that we had to pick up, I can't get a return call to help fix and now you want me to take an hour of my time to drive and come in so it will only take you 10 minutes, if I am standing there? John said, if I live in Santa Rosa, it will only be 20 minutes. I said, 20 min one way and then 20 minutes back, if there's no traffic and my time in the store to get help. I said, this is the worst customer service, you have lost our business. He could care less and told me if I can't come in to call the 877 tractor supply number. They have made staff changes over the years, for the better. Some of the younger folks had limited customer service skills. Now the staff is better. The store itself, it always fun. 2 men working at Tractor Supply told my granddaughter to get away from the chicks she was looking at because she coughed. They told me they had to be very careful of the chicks getting Avian Flu . I didn't bother telling them humans don't give Avian flu to birds. It took me 1 second to understand they know nothing about animals and shouldn't be giving anyone advice about animals of any type. Didn't go into buy a thing but the girl at the front was very pleasant. Welcomed us and we walked back to where the chicks and ducklings were to have a look at the cute balls of fuzz. After staring for a while we looked at the house and yard items in the center aisle. As we were leaving we were wished a good day just as if we had made a purchase. It is nice to be treated and even acknowledged regardless of my purchasing at that point in time or not. He was doing something on the ground and glared at my shoes very rudely then looked up like I was totally annoying and in his way. He pointed where they were and I was taken back at how rude he was. Then, I went to look at the product which I found. He didn't explain properly where to find the item. He could of walked me over to show me which would have been proper etiquette considering I'm a shopping customer. I really was appalled by how rude he was. First let me say I shop often at this store . However, there are employees that should not be working there, they lack professionalism when dealing with customers. This person, named Lizzie, I believe she is an assistant manager. She was telling me I couldn't park where I parked, didn't say why until I asked her. She stated it was a fire lane. When I tried to explain that the curb was not painted red or posted as a fire lane, she got indigent and continued to tell me I couldn't park there. Had she not been so rude, I would of moved my vehicle. As I was leaving, Lizzie was helping a female customer load her truck while parked in what she called "A FIRE LANE" and blocking the entrance and exit of customer entering and leaving the store with shopping carts. I recently purchased some "Easter Egger" pullets from this Tractor Supply location with the intention of adding some layers to the small farm I manage. About a week after buying them it has become very clear that these chicks are NOT the Easter Eggers they were advertised as, but broiler chicks. Now instead of a small flock of layers I have a mixed flock (with two types of birds requiring different management), and I have to go find additional chicks to make up for this loss. On top of that I have to explain the situation to the owners of the property (and their young children) who are all vegetarians. There are going to be tears when I tell the 5 year old that the cute chicks he's already named are eventually going to have to be butchered. When I called Tractor Supply to explain the situation the manager was unhelpful, rude, and condescending. There was no apology for the mistake, and instead I was told "it won't be that hard to give them away." She also stated that it should have been apparent that the chicks weren't Easter Eggers since the chicks are yellow (soon to be white) and broilers are white, ignoring that fact that there are white Easter Eggers, and it's nearly impossible to tell the breed of a chick when it is only a couple days old. They won't allow me to return them, and the solutions I was offered of "just put them up on Facebook if you don't want them" and "Western Farm would take them" (they won't, I called to double check) were a poor excuse for trying to fix the problem they caused. We should be cutting retail workers a break these days considering how much more difficult their jobs have become during Covid, but I've made excuses for their poor customer service for quite some time now and this was the final straw. read more

CHICK BUYERS BEWARE!! Tractor Supply sells chicken chicks that are NOT VACCINATED. Every one of the Rhode Island Red chicks my children purchased from Tractor Supply last year DIED from Marek's disease in LESS THAN 10 MONTHS. Marek's disease is common in backyard flocks in Sonoma county. There is no cure for Marek's and chicks MUST be vaccinated within 24 hours of hatching (I double checked with two vets that specialize in chickens about this, one in Santa Rosa and one in Sebastopol). It doesn't matter how clean, well fed, loved, or pastured the chickens are. They can still get it and die, or sometimes survive and be crippled for the rest of their lives and serve as a source of contagion for other flocks. When we purchased our chicks last year we didn't realize that Tractor Supply didn't carry vaccinated chicks nor did we understand how important the Marek's disease vaccination is. We know better now and will not be making the mistake of bringing home chicks that aren't vaccinated. I called Tractor Supply this past week (March 15-19) to ask if they now carry vaccinated chicks and the response was they don't. I even called back a few days later just to make sure and again the reply was their chicks are NOT VACCINATED. Ordering from Tractor Supply has been one of the worst transactions I have ever had with a company. I ordered items for same day delivery, carefully checking that they were available for that and ordering before the time cut off. I ordered from a store that was 15 miles from my house because they were larger than I could pick up. I wait all that day, nothing. That evening the order updated to delayed and says they will come the next day. I wait, nothing. I call customer service to check in, they tell me it's out for delivery and they can't reach the driver. I wait some more, nothing. The next evening after business hours I get a call from the delivery guy and he says he, "couldn't get to me that day" and arranges for delivery the next day. Great. I wait all that day, nothing. The next day again after hours I get a call from the same delivery guy asking me if I got my order. When I say no, he says that he was off the day before and this is why he calls all their customers to make sure they get their orders when he's off (you have someone delivering who is so unreliable that you have a policy of calling every customer to make sure he delivers? how is this good business??) He also says he shows it was delivered to a wrong address (he says to a house number that doesn't exist on my street). He again says he will deliver the next day and we agree to a time. Well that's today and the window has passed and still nothing. Hands down the worst experience I've had with an order. Guess I'll be calling later to cancel everything and see if they can even manage that. read more

Unfortunately, it always takes longer shopping here because of staff issues. This was my third or fourth visit here and the help here is kind of sparse. If I had a ranch, this store would be really useful. The back area has a ton of different rolls of wire fencing that I became familiar with on a different visit. I was really impressed by the logsplitters out front and Husqvarna chainsaws. They are the real deal. They came through with the specific hitch pin and quick links that I needed. Just to kill the store credit that I had, I grabbed a bag of 'Taste of the Wild' dog food and some cool dog toys that I think were cheaper than Petco. I hope Murphy likes it. read more

Store strongly lacks customer service. I stopped at the front desk where 3 employees were standing around and asked if they carried sod knives. Not one of them could stop and make eye contact to answer my question. Instead they all shuffled around asking each other and finally the guy in the back said Big 5 would maybe have it, but that their store doesn't carry them. I mentioned, isn't Big 5 more of a sporting goods store? He insisted they would likely have it and my reply was in the case they don't are there any other stores that might carry a sod knife that I could try. My own thoughts are if Home Depot and Tractor Supply do not carry them--why Big 5? Doesn't seem like a viable option and I don't believe it was unreasonable for me to ask for any other possible places that might carry a simple sod knife. All I got was attitude--I said thank you and left. No your welcome or acknowledgment from any of them. After doing my own google search, I'll be looking at Lowe's, Ace Hardware, etc--not Big 5! This review is not so much based on the suggestion or not having the item, but more so the terrible customer service. I work for a larger farming company and could easily find a reason to shop there several times a week. I typically find myself preferring to shop at other business do to the overwhelming smell of rubber. to be honest my first visit to the store was great. I had to move a piece of equipment that was heavy and I knew the Tractor Supply sold winches. I usually shop to Petaluma store but they were out of the winch I needed and I looked online and it said that Windsor had the one I wanted. I went into the store I talk a little male employee there told him what I wanted to do and he showed me a little 4500 pound winch and a mounting plate and said that is all I would have to buy. I took it to the cash register, I talked to the girl she asked me if I wanted to buy a warranty which I did, I was told the winch was on sale. everything is great I had friendly service I had the help I needed, I bought the Ranch and I proceeded to go home to my house which is out near the town of Tomales. The next day I unbox everything I have one day to get this piece of equipment moving so I wanted to do it now. To my surprise the wins does not fit the mounting plate. A little bit perturbed but I figured okay I'll go by the next biggest winch. Ira package everything up nice put it in my car and I drive all the way back to Windsor. When I get there I am told I cannot return the winch because it was a clearance item. I was never told it was a clearance item I was told it was on sale. I explain to them that so when's does not fit the mounting plate so I need to buy the next biggest one. I'm told by the three girls behind the counter at this time that I cannot return that wins because it was a clearance item all sales are final. I tried to explain to them that I'm going to buy a bigger winch and they are going to make an additional $100 off me. I say no I cannot return it or exchange it. I asked to say manager and one of the girls behind the counter tells me she's a manager and no she's not going to exchange or return it even though I bought it 24 hours earlier and the two pieces are not compatible. At this point I'm living I'm totally shocked. I'm standing underneath a huge customer service sign but apparently the employees at Windsor cannot read. So I drive to the Tractor Supply in Petaluma. there I explain to them what had just happened to me in Windsor and that I bought this item that was supposedly on clearance and it did not work as was explained to me and asked if they had one the size that I could buy. Not only do they have what I wanted, but they agreed to take the winch that will not work for me back and give me my money back and explain to me that Windsor should have also done the same thing. So not only did I leave Petaluma Tractor Supply happy with the winch and mounting plate that I needed that worked, but I also purchased a lot of other things and left $300 behind that the Tractor Supply in Windsor could have made had they gone the extra 3ft and provided a little customer service. This TS makes me happy too. They have all the same great items that the TS in Petaluma has, but what this one doesn't have is the awesome customer service that the Petaluma has. Great selection of pet items and household at this store. Went in as the pandemic was unfolding, both my wife and I were wearing masks. We were treated as if we weren't even there and we were the only customers in the store. We stood by the chicks waiting for help, several times the employee would look at us and ignore us. Finally I asked "can you help with the chicks", he said "yeah", as if it was an inconvenience. Found this place through word-of-mouth from someone at the dog park. SO GLAD I came here! I found my dog's food and it seemed to be a lot cheaper than at PetSmart. I got 40lb bag of food for $35, a bag of 6 bully sticks for $18 (PetSmart sells them for $5-7 EACH), a bin of treats, and a rope, that my dog is happily chewing on as I write this review :) I live in Windsor and had been driving down to Santa Rosa Ave. for pet food! Cool place, particularly if you're a rancher or have property as they have a great selection of lots of different things. But an interesting selection of pet foods, toys, clothes, tools, and TIRES.
