Since writing this review, I have moved to another state. Upon returning for a visit I discovered…read moreParker's has been purchased by an out-of-town owner. It is now called Wood's. The pharmacy and grocery staff seem to be mostly the same people, but I cannot state how well the store is now run. What I wrote previously: Number one - Parker's is the only locally owned grocery and pharmacy in Warrensburg. The owners are active in their community, doing their best to benefit the area. I support locally owned businesses if I can justify doing so. Parker's has earned my loyalty. The prices are not always the lowest; they may not always be favorably compared to prices at WalMart and BiLo and Aldi's. However, they work hard to cover all the basics and then add carefully selected additional items they know their townspeople want. Watch for sales, as usual. Heck, if you ask about any specific item you cannot locate, they find a way to begin stocking it. Their produce is likely obtained from the same sources other area grocers use, but they must be choosing the higher quality. I have never gotten inferior quality from them and I have from other places in town. I can almost guarantee they would bend over backwards to make things right if ever I was dissatisfied. They have real butchers who will cut as you desire or grind things up as you desire and probably can do more than I've thought of asking for! If a checkout line is more than 2 customers long they call for reinforcements! You cannot find THAT at the other markets. They own their own pharmacy too. You get personalized attention from a very highly qualified staff. Big ticket help in a small town is a great combination. Just about any discounts you would receive at the "big boys" of pharmacy can also be found at Parkers; they are extremely competitive. On top of all that, they have packed a tremendous amount of variety and standards into their cozy alcoholic beverage section. You will find the usual liquors, wine and beer, plus many specialty local offerings. Parker's is a great resource for local wines as well as regional wines from other countries. They also carry a very diverse selection of micro-brewed finds, many of which can be purchased as individual components to a "build your own 6-pack". That is rare in a town this small. To summarize, Parker's can satisfy your needs while making you feel appreciated. They seem to work hard at making you feel they want your business. The Julie person

Most of the items are slightly discounted from that of larger retailers but with generic brands too that offer an even greater savings opportunity. There was only one lady I saw manning the registers who was also trying to stock the shelves with inventory while there was a pretty good amount of people there. As for the facility itself, was decently stocked. Items such as food, birthday cards, refrigerated items, cooking utilizes, bath towels and so fort were neatly stored on the shelves. While I was there, I got a Sprite, moon pies, Andy's Fries and some Pringle's knockoffs. For the record the wannabe Pringles stunk, don't get them. Aside from that everything else was as expected. Overall, this is Dollar Tree and we all know what kinds of products they have. This place is clean with nice employees. If you need something on the cheap and quickly I advise stopping in. I'd rate them the best among their competitors that are within walking distance.

When we were ready to check out, one employee was out on a smoke break and the other was in the office doing something. Myself and 2 other customers waited in line for 10 minutes. I walked around and almost knocked on the office door. When the employee came out, he was not friendly. The next time I visited Dollar General the cashier had a pack of Kool's sitting on the bagging counter next to her, with a half smoked cigarette laying on the counter. It smelled terrible, but it's also just not professional at all. I enjoy the prices. Best place to buy greeting cards. The staff could use some training on how to be more professional.

Most of the items are slightly discounted from that of larger retailers but with generic brands too that offer an even greater savings opportunity. There was only one individual there when I stopped by and he had a weird affinity for a female customer he "knew for 30 years." I'm not saying he was bad but odd and I could see other women finding him creepy. As for the facility itself, I felt it very unkept and lacking a lock of stock. For instance, two of the refrigerators were out of soda options and many shelves were bare as if they were desperately in need of a shipment to arrive. Moreover, there was many items on the floor as if they were dropped, had fallen or somehow disregarded and never picked up. I suspect this isn't a priority for "Mr. Wannabe-Austin Powers" since he never left the front even when no customers were at the desk. Overall, this is Dollar General and we all know what kinds of products they have. I happened to get a Little Debbie strawberry roll, Funions and a Welches grape drink and all were as they should be. I was happy with the convenience but I'm glad I don't live close by and thus need to frequent this place again.
