The people working here know their stuff and can answer questions about differences between seeds, tips for planting, and local recommendations (and stories). They are also really nice and friendly. The people that work at the store pool their money and buy animals at the state fair and share the meat. The keep ribbons from the animals they've purchased through the years behind the register. Check out the pictures. Definitely a midwestern, small town, farming community fixture. It was fun to walk around and see everything and learn a little while doing it. No problem parking and you don't have to buy a large quantities-buy as much or little as you need. All reports are that they have the best seeds in the UP!

Even though it is about a 10 mile drive to Ellsworth, I figured I could combine taking my recycles while fueling and save a trip to Central Lake. To make sure, I called ahead to confirm they had a pump for passenger diesel, and was assured they did. I checked in upon arrival and was directed to the diesel pump. I was dismayed to find that in fact, they have only one pump setup with the large diameter nozzle which does not fit into passenger cars and pickups. I went back to the service desk and explained and also expressed my displeasure at having made a wasted trip especially after calling ahead. The attendant was clueless and uninterested. I expected more from them. I can't be the only one in the area with a diesel powered pickup.

I previously wrote about a repair to my Kubota Tractor that I thought was over priced. And I still…read morefeel I wasn't prepared to spend that kind of money for what turned out to be (at least in my mind) a simple repair. BUT: I have since gone back more than once to this dealership and they have been helpful, courteous and provided whatever I needed so I am suggesting that the previous dissatisfaction was more caused by a misunderstanding between seller and buyer and far less than anyone trying to take advantage of another. I'll still keep going there and expect future transactions will go well.
