Now a few years into my professional career, I stopped in in March just to have a look and left with two dresses I wear all the time. I went back a week or two later . . . and a week after that . . . and a week after that . . . And now I pop in weekly just to say hi. XD But for fact, the thing that stood out to me even as a 22 year old who normally shops at TJ Maxx the first time I went is that Raquel and Sarah are so sweet and helpful, but HONEST. They will always tell you if something isn't as flattering as it could be, AND they will find you a better item that does suit your shape or coloring better. I was at a closet crossroads where I no longer wore my college clothes very often, and most of my work clothes were things I got in a rush on sale when I got my first post-college professional job. Since March, I have replaced almost all of my closet with pieces I love and feel super confident in and feel like suit my shape and style. I represented my company at a conference earlier this week, got compliments on everything from my necklace to my shoes, got home and realized I had bought every item except my purse (earrings, necklace, blouse, jeans, shoes) at Pip's. The big thing that stands out to me is that I, a 22 year old, can go in and find an entire outfit and be there at the same time as a 45 year old mom of 3 who finds a great outfit, along with a 70 year old who has been shopping there for years and still finds things she loves. They have pieces for every age and body type, and you know that whatever you get, almost no one else will have because they get such specialized stock in small amounts. The jackets and shoes I've gotten from Pip's especially are staples. I wear the jackets daily, and every shoe I've gotten from them (stiletto heels to block heel boots to pumps to sandals to sneakers) has been a good fit for my high arches and so comfortable. I wear them constantly. I really can't say enough good things about Sarah and Raquel as people, either. I am an introvert who hates shopping for the most part, and really hates clothes shopping, but being able to go have a 1:1 with Raquel especially, and have her pull things for me and give me her opinion on shape and color and all that, makes it so easy. I love stopping just to say hi to her now. Yes, Pip's is a boutique that specialized in higher quality items and luxury goods. You can find great deals on the sale rack for sure, but it is definitely the financial equivalent of shopping at Tommy Hilfiger before they closed downtown (RIP) or Nordstrom. However, the value I get buying a $100 item that does feel like a splurge in the moment but turns into a favorite in my closet I want to wear constantly to me seems like a much lower financial investment long term than the $30 item I might have gotten at a chain store but only worn on occasion because I don't love the fit and donated 6 months later. Even the fun items I buy feel like staples I will have for years to come and never get tired of. Including the pink carpenter pants I've worn everywhere from date night with heels to work to actually working on house projects. If you want a shopping experience that feels like it's truly tailored to you, to help you find things you love and will wear on repeat because you feel so confident in them, go to Pip's. Most fun "staples" you will ever buy. Sarah and Raquel take the time to truly build relationships with customers that are personal, not transactional. They have a terrific selection of good quality big and tall sizes for men, in addition to lots of offerings in regular sizes. This was my first haircut post Covid and they followed all the guidelines and made sure their clients felt safe and welcomed. The salon is set up beautifully with high end touches and they carry a wonderful line of products! Matt listened to what I wanted and made sure I was happy with the color and cut. He worked all while carrying on the most pleasant conversation. It was like we were old friends catching up even though we'd never met. After seeing my hair, my mom was blown away and booked herself an appointment that same week. Her hair has never looked better!! Matthew is truly great at and passionate about his craft. Auto dept would not put snow tires on the front of my front wheel drive vehicle due some policy…read morethat they have. I purchased tires thru Walmart, made the appointment to have them installed and when I arrived I explained exactly what I wanted done and everything was good at that time. 1 hour later they called me to let me know that they could not install the tires on the front but could only install them on the rear. After wasting 1 hour in the store a manager was requested by me and needless to say he was dumb as a box of rocks. Another 30 minutes went by before I was able to leave because the service dept was in no hurry to put tires back on car and bring key in. I told her I live with somebody who gives me an attitude daily and I don't need hers. I could tell she was upset that she had to help people. It also didn't help that the thing I was looking for was in an area where somebody had parked their mart cart and didn't move for several minutes. So I waited for them to leave. When I finally got what I needed as I was going through the rest of the store, I spotted the same staff member and I overheard her saying "I just can't people today." I said loud enough for her to hear "Yes, I noticed that." This store also has staff members who will gladly report you if they find you doing something they dislike. They love to embarrass you and call the cops on this happened to me at least once, but it was three years ago... I accidentally scratched another car door and they had the police come in. I was accused of leaving the scene and I said "I would never do that" which is the truth, but I guess it's guilty until proven innocent. I found out another staff Member had reported me. I'm not saying the staff has to be sappy, sweet, but please check your attitude at the door.
