(3/5 stars) This was…read moremy first time trying the self-serve dog wash at Pet Supplies Plus. My mom and I brought Riley and Amir, and I left thinking, "I'd do this again." One thing that's worth knowing before you go is the pricing. The regular wash is $14 per dog, but Rewards members can prepay for five washes at $8 each, which saves over 40%. If you're planning to wash your dog more than once, that's the route I'd take. They provide the shampoo, conditioner, brushes, dryers, towels, and everything else you need, so you don't have to pack up your own supplies. The biggest downside for me was the setup. You spend the entire wash bent over your dog, and my back was definitely feeling it by the end. There's also no barrier between you and your dog, so when they decide to shake--and let's be honest, they will--you'll probably end up wearing some of the bath yourself. I also wasn't a fan of the towels. They technically provide them, but they're really small and didn't absorb much water. They felt more like they were there because towels are expected than because they actually help. I'd bring an old towel from home next time. Other than that, everything worked well. The dryers had plenty of power, the supplies were stocked, and it was nice not having to clean up my own bathroom afterward. Overall, I'd come back. I still prefer another self-serve wash I use because I like having a barrier between me and the dog, but if Pet Supplies Plus is the closest option--or you're using the prepaid Rewards deal--it's a solid choice.

At the register they tried to sell it to me by the pound even though the sign didn't say anything about it charging by weight. Just that they are $3.99. Cashier took forever to stop sweeping the rug to help me. Also gave me dirty looks when I told her she should change the sign on the rocks to specify that it's sold by weight. Also I've heard from employees that there's animals in the back that aren't properly being cared for, specifically a snake named ruby that is a red tail boa, and severely malnourished with shed issues. The staff is really friendly, and they have a lot of knowledgeable folks on hand. We Lov Pets recently moved to a new building right off of Northpointe and last weekend I paid it a visit for the first time. My mom needed to fill up on dog food and my fishy Tito was in need of some Halloween décor. He loves getting in the holiday spirit, ha. There's a giant parking lot out front as well as a separate entrance for self-serve grooming (very cool). We walked in and it was super easy to find exactly what we were looking for. All the different departments of the store are labeled clearly, which make it easy to get in and out when you're in a rush. The aquatics department looks pretty rad. All the tanks are super clean, the fish looked amazing, and I love being able to check out unique saltwater fish. This is the only store for miles that offers saltwater options and it's always fun to check them out. That's where I was able to grab some fun stuff for Tito's tank (skull and rocks). I also made my way through the reptile department (my favorite!) and all the pets looked to be in great health and in super clean habitats. I helped my mom find her dog food (Earthborn, its great and you get a free bag after buying so many over time) and after saying hello to the kitties up for adoption, we were on our way home. There's no wonder why this locally owned pet store has stayed in business, even with the large box pet store right up the street. The service is great, the products are higher quality as they are hand-picked by experts, and the love for animals here is tremendous. I'll definitely continue to swing by here when I'm in town and in need of supplies for my little pet family.

What a wonderful surprise to walk out of Old Bag of Nails in Westerville, OH where my wife and I…read morehad just finished lunch and discover a store we thought was gone still existed. I'm talking about a favorite pet speciality shop, Captivating Canines. (See pictures) For about a year we'd noticed that the store was no longer at the corner of Main St. and Westerville in downtown Westerville. We were saddened to see it go because it had been a favorite shop to pick up unique Christmas and birthday gifts for pet owner friends and family. So, when we walked out the back door of Old Bag of Bones, we could see this new shop and decided to check it out. Ron, the new owner had bought the store but relocated just a short distance down Main St. Although he told me he wasn't a huge "BUCKEYE" fan, I was willing to forgive him of that small indiscretion as we continued to talk about the store and new inventory he had on display. He was very gracious and allowed us to walk around and take pictures of him and specialized, fun merchandise he had in the store to share with you. It is a very relaxed environment so you can casually take your time to look around. Many items are marked down 50%. I was equally impressed and appreciative that the shop was designed to be handicap friendly with ample aisle space that allowed me to take my walker to any place I wanted to go.

Every time we go in Captivating Canines, the owner is so friendly and helpful. We have a puppy and go there for most of his basic needs and some more we didn't know about. Today we had to get his second collar and a new harness. They have a great selection of bright and colorful and fun designed collars and harnesses. We always come away from there happy and in a good mood. Such a sweet little place. It's fun to shop in and not overwhelming, like the big pet supply stores. Definitely make a stop, it's fun just to stroll and I guarantee you'll find something unique!

Turns out that this is a "pet supply / feed store" with an extensive line of products for your barn, farm and backyard wildlife. They do custom feed for horses and other animals; they have an extensive line of pet supplies and products for your dogs, cats, etc. including food, bedding, etc. There is a small section with craft type items and unique jellies, sauces, dips, etc. but this is primarily a pet supply / feed store. The staff was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable in their interactions with customers. So --- if you're looking for a "country store" selling touristy craft stuff this isn't your place. But if you need any kind of pet supplies or feed - this is the place. They also have locations in Granville, Newark, Pataskala and Lancaster.

Chopped his fur…read more Did not get the compacted undercoat out, only trimmed 3 out of 4 of his paws, mats were on his chest. They put the wrong collar on him and my dog was choking. He was there for 4.5 hours. Dog no.2, did not brush her out, still has compacted undercoat, only 2 of 4 paws trimmed. Was traumatized and she hid under a bedside table for two days shaking. When I requested a refund the owner stated that she couldn't refund my money for another week and doesn't know how to process a credit card refund.
