Tyler told me Jason was no longer with Moon Valley, and asked if he could meet with us at our home. Tyler was apologetic, kind, and could not have been more helpful. Tyler helped us find the right plants, and gave us nice ideas for our landscape areas. Despite being a very busy and important guy at Moon Valley, Tyler Brand treated my husband and I like we were very important customers, and was always available to us with any question we had. Tyler's team of hard working guys came and planted our new plants, refreshed our landscape areas with new mulch, and made everything look really lovely! Rob and I are very happy with the job they did for us. To make up for our negative experience with Jason, Tyler gave us some free gifts, and tried to make it up to us, which he succeeded in doing. Because of Tyler Brand, and his kindness, and consideration, Moon Valley Nurseries will be our go-to landscape place. Plus, Tyler is a fellow lover of the band Korn. She made the most beautiful bouquet sent me a picture before writing the custom note and packaging for pick up. We used Uber to pick them up and deliver them. The first 2 drivers quit. Monica offered to hand deliver them to the 3 rd waiting Uber driver to make sure they got to their destination. The recipient loved her flowers and said it was the largest, freshest most beautiful arrangement she has ever seen. Forget me not flowers will be our first choice in flowers from now on!!! On a recent visit, some of the plants were looking a little rough, including the salvias I bought, but with the recent heatwave, it's no wonder some plants aren't looking their best. The guys are helpful if you need hay or bags of garden soil loaded and someone always asks if you need help, when they see you browsing the plant aisles. They have a good variety of healthy plants. although the bougainvillea selection was way down, which is why I stopped by on this visit. Prices are mostly reasonable and plants I've bought at this garden center have done well. The store has a covered area and sun area, so you can see plant requirements at a glance. Gardening in zone 10 can be a challenge, but Golden Gate Nursery has you covered.

As a garden…read morecenter, I would rate them a 5 -- they carry wonderful plant varieties and have a beautiful selection. This review concerns customer service. In general, I have found some employees to be somewhat dismissive when I ask questions about plant material. I am a novice gardener, and while my questions may be basic, they are genuine. The overall tone I've experienced has at times felt impatient or put off. More concerning was an interaction last week with a young male cashier (early 20s, mustache). After checking out, I reviewed my receipt in my car and had a question. I went back inside, and the same cashier came to review the order with me. As he went through the receipt and items, he pointed at the receipt and said, "Can't you read?" implying that I was incapable of understanding it. To be clear, he was correct -- the receipt did match the purchased inventory. The issue was not accuracy; it was his condescending tone and delivery. I felt belittled and disrespected. I did respond emotionally and raised my voice, calling him a jerk. That was not the best response, and I returned to the store to acknowledge that I regretted yelling. However, I also expressed that I felt I deserved an apology for how I was spoken to. He smirked and refused to apologize. My concern is that the tone and manner in which I was treated felt dismissive and age-related. Elder disrespect is real, and when interactions feel overtly condescending toward older customers, it's important to speak up. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Customer service should reflect the same quality as the products you sell.
