If you are a petite, the have great play clothes but nothing decent in stores for work or dressy occasions. Regular sizes don't work for me and I used to be able to get great suits and jackets here. No more. The shoe section was bare and a bit of a mess. Petites save your time and look elsewhere for dressy clothes.

The staff are much more friendly and engaged, at least on my 1st visit here, than is typical in such places. This seasonal & end-cap displays are set up with a good eye for detail. With help from the cheerful young lady at the front, I was able to find what I stopped in for (puppy training pads for my bunny's cage) with no trouble at all, and paid half the price the pet supply store next-door chargers for the same product. So many different businesses have occupied this exact address, here's wishing burkes good luck and staying power.

We settled on the Bourbon chicken, orange chicken, and General Tao's chicken with lo mein. They had a Bourbon chicken daily special with veggies for under $8.50. We got the three entree special for under $12. The chicken dishes were each really good and fresh with each having their distinct flavor profile. All in all, really good "mall" Chinese food that I would come back to when in the area.

An "okay" visit to the Dollar General in Louisa. On the positive side, I found something to meet…read morewhat I was looking for -- a pair of baskets for storage on a shelf. The photo shows one of my new plastic large weave baskets (14" L x 11.5" W x 5.9" H) which were $5.50 each. Functional, washable, and of okay quality. They had three sizes for this particular product, as well as other choices (including higher-priced and attractive wicker). I also picked up a package of 8 Clover flour tortillas for under $2. (Be careful of expiration dates. Mine expire in a few days). *Store selection and layout. (Rating: 3/5). While some areas of the store were orderly, many of the aisles could be described as disheveled. Quite a few Items that we looked at were in locations that didn't match where the price UPC was. We also had to ask a clerk for a price check on an item that didn't have a price tag nor was it in the correct location. At the time of our visit, the store was having refrigeration issues, so some items were not available. *Convenience. (4). We live in a rural area, and need to drive roughly 45 minutes to any box stores, so having this and a few other Dollar Stores is a convenience for us for everyday items. [There are a few grocery stores closer in]. *Value. (2). Prices for non-food items were comparable to Walmarts or Target but of lower quality and, as mentioned, these retail choices are a further drive for us. Prices for food items were comparable or higher than the local Food Lion, which has a better selection. *Staff. (2). Limited interaction with staff. Two women were working at the check-out but they continued their conversation with each other during my check-out rather than engaging with me. One had earlier done a price check at the counter for me upon request. *Store location. (5). The store is in a strip mall on Louisa's Main Street. There is plentiful free parking.
