When we got her, she was traumatized beyond belief not only from the environment she was raised in, but also from being shuffled around from multiple foster homes. She had lost trust in people and was terrified of everything and everyone. As she became more comfortable with us and settled into our family, we decided it was time to take our little friend to get a much needed bath and haircut. When we showed up with our pup for the first time, she was matted and her coat was out of control. We had never had a poodle before, and had tried bathing her in the tub (which only made things worse). Julie greeted us with a smile, and instead of judging us based on the condition she was in, educated us on how to properly care for her type of coat. She was nothing but patient and kind when Nora pooped on the floor out of fear before even being taken in. She took her time with the appointment, and then called me to tell me that she was unable to finish her groom. Julie felt that based on her behavior, it seemed like she had enough for the day. Because she was so scared, Julie asked if I could bring her back the next day so that she could finish at Nora's pace so as not to traumatize her further. I was so taken aback and touched that she was so considerate of our dogs situation and behavior. I happily agreed. We now go back to see Julie regularly. Her work is exceptional and Nora comes home looking (and smelling) beautiful every time. Nora loves Julie and is so much more comfortable with the grooming process thanks to her patience. Not only does she look wonderful, but her experiences at Petco/with Julie have helped her grow into a more confident and trusting dog. Thank you Julie for your kindness, patience, and understanding! I called the day before and they had an appointment the next day! The girl on the phone was extremely nice and made all the arrangements for the next days appointment. Dropping off my dog was very easy and my dog was not nervous at all. They had him done within two hours and he looked terrific! Cheaper than any groomer I've ever had my dog done at, too! I definitely would come back here in a heart beat!! Also, from my last post the place is much cleaner and the smell is completely gone of urine! They've cleaned up this place A LOT!!!!

Apparently, they had a fire a few months ago and are working on making it safe enough to have pets in store again. It'll be about another year and a half before they have pets again here. The worker Jen told me all about this little guy and that this Petco was having a weekend of information and deals that you wouldn't believe. I went in today and I told Tara that I was interested in this little boy. He's not a baby but smaller than any other place had. I had been to 5 places and he was the one. It was a 50% off sale on reptiles! It was a sign to buy him. I got the tank and everything else a couple of weeks ago when I made up my mind this was definitely happening. Jen told me so much about my tortoise and she helped me make up my mind. Tara helped me with picking out a hide and flooring for my new Baby. I cleaned it up with the spray and paper towels that they provide and went along my way. Melissa came up to me a few minutes later and told me my dog is a problem every time I go in there. The last time we were there she told me he had 3 accidents in the store which I don't believe for a second. I ALWAYS pick up after my dog!! She shouldn't be working at a store if she has an issue with pets having accidents considering it's a pet friendly store. Also, she stood by me to make sure I cleaned up the mess which was absolutely ridiculous. She treated me like I was a child. We had checked out a bunch of doggie day cares and then finally we checked out K9 Kamp. When we got there and met John instantly we felt comfortable leaving Cooper with him. He scooped Coop up and gave a big hug and checked him out, cut his nails and brushed him. I knew when we left him there he would be loved but kept in line. The daycare is super clean, John is a neat freak. He is always cleaning everything and doing some task when you are picking up or dropping off your dog. The place is huge and the dogs have a lot of area to run around in. There is also a huge heated area that has hammocks and places for the dogs to lay inside on cold or rainy days. Also, Cooper gets a bath every week and he comes home every Friday fresh clean. Cooper has now been going here for almost two years and he loves it. We now have a baby so I am home but we still bring Cooper there most days because he loves it so much and gets all his energy out. He gets so excited when we turn into the K9 Kamp drive way, if his window is open he has jumped out the window and runs to the gate or John, that is how much he loves going here. We love K9 Kamp and John and we highly recommend bringing your doggie here!

Upon reaching out for services, I encountered a receptionist, Lynne, or onboarding staff member who exhibited inflexibility and lacked clarity regarding the availability of days for my dog's care. Despite claiming to be "almost at capacity on Tuesdays and Thursdays," they were evasive about providing alternative days, showing a prioritization of their convenience over accommodating paying customers like myself. Moreover, they failed to establish a designated time for pickup or drop-off, leaving me to initiate communication for this vital information. Their response indicated a vague pickup window of "probably between 9:45 and 10:15." On the day of service, despite providing my precise address, including apartment number, and contact number well in advance, I received a call from the receptionist at 10:38 a.m., exceeding the initially provided pickup window. By the time I reached the designated spot, the driver, who coincidentally was also the owner Neal, had already departed. Upon contacting the receptionist, I was met with the explanation that the driver "waited for a second and then had to leave because he was on schedule." However, their scheduling should have allowed for minor delays, especially considering the substantial one-hour pickup windows already established. Furthermore, the receptionist attempted to shift blame onto me, stating that the driver was unaware of my apartment complex and lacked my direct contact information. This assertion is unfounded, as I had provided detailed information including my apartment number, and the receptionist had my contact details on record. Their refusal to take responsibility and insistence on blaming the customer instead of acknowledging their organizational shortcomings is disappointing, particularly for a business claiming 20 years of experience. As this incident occurred on our first day of service, I expected a modicum of grace and professionalism. However, the receptionist's conduct and subsequent blame-shifting left much to be desired. Their assumption that all customers reside in single-family homes further underscores their lack of consideration for varying circumstances. Based on this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend this business, and I am relieved that my dog was not subjected to their care. Update to review: I received an email from the owner, Neal, with an apology about the incident and not seeing the apartment number. He was so afraid of strangers, others dogs and being separated from me. I stressed to find any groomer that would even deal with a dog that barks like he does until I came across reviews and called K-9 Ranch. Franki was so incredible and knowledgeable about what she does, I immediately felt a sense of calm. I knew I found "our person". She continued to educate me and make a plan for Storm's grooming. As soon as Storm met Franki, I was shocked when he was calm with her. It's true what they say that dogs know "good people". She has a kind heart and soul.
