When we brought our pup to Latrobe, we were pleased to see that the grooming area is open to the public to see what is going on. This was our first visit with Brandon, and he was very attentive to our pup's grooming preferences. He listened well to our concerns and suggestions. We did return to this location before we received the call that our pup was finished with his appointment. Our intention was not to oversee Brandon's process, but we were able to see how both he and our pup were interacting. Brandon was very detailed in his grooming with our pup, and he took his time. We appreciated that he was this detailed and patient. Our pup looked great when Brandon was finished. We were very happy to book our pup's next appointment with Brandon. When we checked out, we were pleasantly greeted by Taylor who lavished praises on our pup. She also thoughtfully looked to see if there were any discounts she could apply to our order and to our pleasant surprise there was a coupon! We were very thankful for Taylor's attention to detail and willingness to assist a first-time customer. We will certainly be back to this location. It is a 35-minute drive from our house (and the other location is less than one mile from our house). The amazing service and people who work here are more than worth the drive!

Their prices are vastly different from their online prices. Luckily, they price match, but you shouldn't have to do a bunch of research to not get ripped off. We go there because sometimes we have to, but I am officially done. Today's anecdote: I went in for a cone for my cat who is destroying his poor eye. I have someone sitting with him at home so I can get this cone and get back to work. After searching the store I find one section with a terribly limited selection. Awful hard things for an average of $40. I check online and of course, they are $14.99 there. What? The only one that they have in his size is scuffed up on the clear plastic part, and looks like it has been used, but here I am, having an emergency, or I need some thing fast. I wait in line and when I get to the counter, the girl kindly tells me they can only take cash right now. Please, tell me, you're joking, I think. Who is running this place? This is something I should've known upon entering the store. A sign on the door? At this point, I am beyond frustrated and almost in tears, when the cashier points outside and says "I think there's an atm over there somewhere?" This is unacceptable on so many levels. I was already settling for a lackluster product at inflated in-store prices... and you can't even take my credit card. It's 2023. Shame on you, Petco. I do hope someone looks into your practices and cleans things up there.

Sweet Bone Bakery is a small, local, veteran-owned business that sells dog treats and some dog…read moresupplies through their website and at this store in Westmoreland Mall. Their treats are available in a variety of flavors and sizes. Supplies include bandanas, collars, leashes, etcetera. The business is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. I first purchased Sweet Bone Bakery's dog treats when I saw their stand at a farmers market years ago. I bought one bag of bacon-cheddar biscuits and one bag of peanut-butter donuts. At home, my dog immediately salivated, licked her lips, and ate these treats! Since then, I have made many purchases through Sweet Bone Bakery's website. My previous dog's favorite flavors were bacon-cheddar and cheesy-pepperoni. My current dog enjoys the same two flavors. My latest order had a cost of $10 per bag, $5 for shipping, and tax, but the business included a free bag of "woofles," which my dog also likes. Tip: The fresh-baked dog treats are best if used within 7 days of the date of being baked. The dehydrated treats have an even longer shelf life. Both can be refrigerated for prolonged freshness.

This was my first experience with boarding my four-legged son, Chili. As most dog owners, I was…read moreextremely hesitant with entrusting my dachshund with a boarding facility. I've teetered with the idea over the past 6 or so years with my continuous traveling serving in the military, however never could bring myself to do it. Then a friend suggests Shane at Countryside play-n-stay. I called to get a quote for the duration of Chili's stay if I decided to board him. Shane was prompt to answering my call. He answered all my off the wall questions as a dachshund Mommy. He was very thorough in getting Chili's vet records and current shots. I could tell his concern for health of ALL animals coming to his establishment. Upon my arrival to Countryside P-N-S, I immediately noticed it's beautiful countryside location; Name says it all ;-). There were dog statues as soon as you entered the property with a well landscaped driveway back to the Dog Day Care location. The outside kennels were empty as it was cold out, but I noticed no smell of animals and they were well kept. When we entered the "office" part of the building it smelled clean, nothing like I would have expected. There was no obscene barking, everything was organized and clean. Shane, the owner, greeted me personally. He was cautious to just greet my dog. He took his time in letting Chili warm up to him, even got cheese for both of us to give him. His questionnaire for boarding admittance was thorough and organized. He handled Chili with care and again answered all my random questions. When I picked Chili up after 4 days; he was sooooo happy! He didn't want to leave Shane or his son Kyle. I honestly could never think of taking my baby anywhere else but here. Shane is so caring, knowledgable, and warm. You can definitely see his genuine concern for the animals and owners, not a money making pit. He's a fellow veteran, and I would recommend his services a thousand times! Affordable, clean, caring... Hands down number one caregiver in the state of Pennsylvania.
