David Lynch the Pacific Northwest... especially Washington State has a real attachment to David Lynch mainly because of the TV show Twin Peaks. This show wasn't to just honor his work with that show but for all of his films like Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead and more. There was a jazz band that started out followed by dancer, a atmospheric electro music performer and more each with their own musical styles. The presentation concluded with a singer who sang Julee Cruise's "Falling" the song that is the intro song to Twin Peaks (although it's instrumental). They had mixed drinks named Agent Cooper and you could even get a slice of cherry pie with damned good coffee!

The staff does a great job although like many restaurants (and other businesses) currently they are finding it difficult fill employee vacancies, so occasionally they have been understaffed. However the beautiful view makes up for having to wait just a little longer on occasion. We also recently hosted a large event in their ballroom and I want to complement Ann Bickerton and the banquet staff for their stellar work. The event was perfect. Ann helped with menu choices and her recommendations were excellent. The food was tasty and well prepared. (no dry chicken - the chicken dish was moist and well seasoned!) The staff were exactly where they needed to be at all times and everyone attending had a wonderful time. They have 3 wall mounted TV monitors for showing your video or slide shows and that was such a nice touch. Our guests enjoyed the beautiful setting and we received many compliments. Thank you.

I can't think of a better place to go with a group of people. I love having choices! My friends and I went for a walk at Titlow and decided to come to FHS for lunch. Parking used to be much harder before the parking garage was built for Sound Transit. Plenty of parking across the street now. There's Vietnamese, Mexican, Greek, Fish and Chips, Burgers, Indian, and others I can't remember. The Mexican was pretty typical but the Indian food was delicious! 5 stars for them. Next time, Greek for me. Please, owner/manager of Freighthouse, please create a marketing plan. Get the word out. There was hardly anyone there at noon on a beautiful Saturday. This could truly be Tacoma's Pike Place Market if you slapped a coat of paint on it and power washed a bunch of stuff. I don't want FHS to close and turn into expensive apartments/condos. The staff was friendly and it wasn't too busy (we went the last hour they were open on a Friday). It's free admission, but they deserve a donation!
