I will definitely say though, their punk and metal selection is the highlight. I've been able to find artists as popular as Motörhead and as indie as Judas Iscariot. Prices are great, and more importantly - not everything is sealed new. Obviously most record stores have bargain bins, but Standards is also not limited to stuff you'd find collecting dust in your grandparent's attic (newer record stores in San Diego, take notes.) Service is great, the store always has a tight but warm ambiance - and I'm always running back to buy more records every couple weeks if that says anything.

Old school, but old and new music is available and if you are looking for something, they may hold it or order it for you. For those of us who grew up in the 80's and 90's, we saw vinyl die and come alive again. It is still my preference for music at home and it is an extra plus if the lp also had the downloadable device option. Every year I attempt to head out to Record Store Day (RSD). My goal is to pick up unique items that have never been released, but more than anything, those 80's and 90's albums that were only made on CD. After a three hour wait in line this year, with only 380 different releases and only 3000 stores in the country with offerings, I came home with everything on my list, but one item out of stock. A total win. Five stars for variety and good set up outside to make shopping effiient. To be fair, I should have taken the time to open the sleeve and inspect the record before buying it, so I take some responsibility for that. That said, I do think it would be helpful if noticeable flaws were pointed out, especially on higher-priced records. Even just knowing that a record is VG rather than assuming it's in better condition would make a difference. Overall, I've always enjoyed shopping at Vinyl Junkies and will definitely continue going back. This is really more of a suggestion than a major complaint--I just think a little more consistency with grading would make an already great record-buying experience even better.

Had them shipped to Iowa, Great price & they shipped them in a mighty mailer for extra protection and they arrived in great condition within a reasonable timeframe.. However incurred a minor issue at no fault to the store, inner sleeves were missing, this was a known issue from the record producer on this particular release, worked with Jules at Vinyl Junkies and she worked diligently with their supplier to make things right, took a bit but she got it done and shipped them right away free of charge and in perfect condition.. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. And just like any great record store, the staff always has amazing recommendations for new music to check out. The store is just the right size to not be overwhelming, everything is well organized, and there is enough room in the bins to make it easy to flip through the records. 10 out 0f 10 for shoppability. In addition to a great new and used vinyl selection, they also carry cd's, cassettes, turntables, speakers, stickers, action figures, t-shirts and more. If you're into music, then you'll definitely find something you need at Moldy Toes. And on the off chance that you don't find something you want, there are lots of other cool little shops to check out in the neighborhood.

For a book whose spine is parting? Missing pages? C'mon. Don't even bother looking at most of what they call "Vintage" books. They ask a king's ransom for them. I found paperback after paperback that was priced at over $20 each... for a book barely 50 years old and a cover price of $1.50. Outlandish. I actually performed a reality check and went to Ebay to check on 7 or 8 of those titles. In each case the books sold for much less on Ebay than Helen is asking. They most definitely need to adjust their pricing schema. It's not like they're paying rent in downtown La Jolla for goodness sake. I was originally, upon walking in, going to say their large, diverse selection is a strength. Now I understand it's simply a function of them not selling their books at a good turnover rate at all... consequently, their stock piles up. Shame.

A True Vinyl Paradise in Downtown Escondido Walking into Track City Vinyl Boutique feels like stepping into a time machine straight back to the golden era of music. The moment you open the door, the vibe hits you -- pure vintage energy, shelves packed with incredible records, and that unmistakable analog magic that every true music lover dreams about. This place isn't just a record store -- it's a museum of musical history. The collection is absolutely astonishing. Crates upon crates of carefully curated vinyl spanning decades of legendary music. You can tell immediately that everything here is selected with real passion and knowledge. I honestly went in just to browse... but ended up leaving with enough records to keep my turntable spinning for years. Every few minutes you discover another gem hiding in the stacks -- classics, rare finds, and masterpieces from another era. What really makes this place special though is the people behind it. Jeremy, the owner, is a true vinyl guru. The man lives and breathes music. His knowledge of records, pressings, artists, and hidden treasures is incredible. He and his sister were unbelievably welcoming and helpful, guiding me through the collection and helping me dig up some absolute masterpieces I would have never found on my own. Whether someone is young or just browsing, they should still be treated with basic respect and kindness. My daughter left feeling like she and her friend weren't welcome there, which is disappointing. Aside from the customer service, I also think a lot of the items are extremely overpriced for what they are. Much of the merchandise seemed like random secondhand items or junk being sold at prices that simply didn't seem worth it. After hearing how my daughter and her friend were treated, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. Customer service and making everyone feel welcome should be a priority.
