I am 45 yrs old, 5'4 and 127 lbs. I had always been interested in a BBL but was told by the plastic surgeon who had done my breast augmentation that I did not have enough fat to harvest and therefore would never be a candidate for a BBL. One year passed by and I came across a friend who had mentioned that she was scheduled for a "skinny BBL". I never even knew that a "skinny BBL" was a thing. Her and I were of similar size and weight and it sparked hope in me that perhaps my dream surgery was within reach. I wasn't looking for a huge bum after all, just one that would finally make me feel better in my jeans and body forming dresses...and of course a bathing suit. Most of all, I wanted to stop having to wrap a sweater around my waist everywhere I went to hide my bum. As a nurse practitioner, I sought out the best of the best. In my research, I realized that a BBL is not just about transferring fat to the bum, it's about sculpting the body around the bum to further enhance what you were already born with in addition to the fat that is transferred there. Needless to say, what little fat I knew I had, I wanted it in the best possible hands! In my opinion, any plastic surgeon can perform a regular BBL when they have plenty of clay to mold but it takes a very skilled plastic surgeon with an eye for detail who can perform this procedure on us more slender women because that is when it becomes more challenging. The surgeon must be patient and adept at harvesting fat from multiple areas and then transferring this precious fat to all the right places. I was told that 1100 ccs of fat was harvested...which did not seem much at all but as the overall swelling started to subside in the few days after surgery, I noticed as well as my masseuse that an incredible, natural silhouette began to emerge...she rounded out my bum and then sculpted my lower back, hips, waist and thighs to enhance the overall projection of my bum as well as my curves. I could not have been more thrilled and thankful for Dr. Temmen and her amazing staff for making my dream a reality. My experience from the moment I walked in to the office was exceptional. I flew in from out of state so I was even more nervous! I was greeted by a warm, friendly and professional office staff. I met Dr. Temmen and I had complete confidence that if there was anyone who could do this, it was her. She pulled up a stool and gave me her undivided attention. She was honest, realistic and most of all made me feel like she truly wanted to help bring my vision to life. The nurses, nurse practitioners, anesthesiologist and all of those involved pre-op and post-op were all amazing and kind and comforting. I am so grateful to have met Dr. Temmen and her staff. Just a few tips for those of you who are considering a skinny BBL...follow all of your post-op instructions, including wearing all the appropriate garments, foams, board etc. optimize your nutritional status (feed the fat), find a balance between staying mobile and resting as well as finding a skilled masseuse who specializes in post/operative lymphatic massage who I think was detrimental in speeding up my recovery and enhancing my results (Jasmine of Jasmine's Touch was one of the masseuses recommended by the staff and I cannot recommend her enough!) read more

For years I have weighed the pros and cons of getting a breast augmentation. Being the only woman in my family with "petite breasts" and recovering from a hormone imbalance, I felt very boy-like and was very self-conscious about my body. I LOVE TRACI TEMMEN, AWESOME PLASTIC SURGEON!!! I researched 4 other doctors before meeting Traci. The other doctors were male (which that doesn't bother me) but seemed to already have an idea of what "they" wanted to do to me - not always agreeing with my wishes. I have wanted to do this for over 10 years but life was getting in the way. Finally I decided it was time and I did very much research on the down time, the recovery time, the entire procedures involved and the pain to expect. This helped immensely because I was so prepared for the post surgery experience. Traci and her staff answered all of my questions to help me prepare and know what I needed for day of surgery as well as after care. The overall experience was better than I expected. The first 2-3 days were hardest as I had read and been told by her staff, but after that it was all down hill. I had a lot of excess skin from weight loss. For 25 years, I was at least 100 pounds overweight. I maxed out at 300 pounds. After finding a 12-step program for food addiction, I lost 140 pounds and have been maintaining a weight of 145 pounds for over 4 years now. I became interested in a gluteal augmentation in October of 2018. Dr. Temmen is easy to talk to and very understanding and will also tell you if something isn't good for you. I had breast augmentation with her and all my friends also had breast implants with other doctors prepared me of the need for someone to take care of me 24/7 for 2 weeks after surgery because I wouldn't be able to raise my arms or do the basic things like open cabinets. They also told me I wouldn't be able to feel my nipples for a while and would just be in pain for a few days. Well I'm so glad I didn't go with their doctors and went with my heart to have Dr. Temmen do the surgery because I had no pain the entire time post-op.
