The front office manager Brittany M. has a smart mouth and acts like she is still 18/19 years old, she is not professional at all and does not try to help find a solution to any problem.

I was referred to them by my son's original dentist as they said they could put him to sleep and fix his teeth in the office. My son is autistic and nonverbal. They wanted me to let them strap him down to a board (which he's never had before and he is a teenager). I told them no. They tried to do it anyways and lets just say it didn't end well. The head lady that works on the nonverbal children said that that's what they do and the children get used to it. If I didn't like it I could go back up north where I came from. I'm not going to allow them to traumatize my son when things have been a certain way the entire time he's been going to a dentist. I'm not the parent that can just sit there while my child is screaming and having a complete breakdown as they strap and hold him down. Anyone with a brain would know that bad things can happen when the child is jerking, screaming, and freaking out as they are working on their teeth. Not to mention make terrified to ever go back to any dentist again. I do NOT recommend anyone with children that are nonverbal go there. Look in surrounding areas, because there's some really incredible dentistry doctors that are patient, understanding, and respectable to the child(ren) and parents. They are about what's best for the child and not themselves.

unfortunately, we did not have the same experience that so many have had. We chose this facility…read morebecause of the great reviews and had 2-3 visits that were wonderful. However, when it came to my girls being scared, all of the niceties left. I work in pediatrics and understand the time it can take and that it can be frustrating at times, but that's the job. Kids are experiencing everything for the first time, and how it goes (especially in medicine) MATTERS. It is awful when a child fears me because of past experiences that didn't have to go poorly. My daughters were treated horribly at a time when they needed to know their doctors were a safe space. For a simple enamel coating, they could have brought us back to hold their hands and ease them through the process so that further medical procedures would be handled better. However, that did not happen. They were the last patients, and that extra time should have been afforded to a 6 and 7-year-old so they didn't fear the dentist. My husband was told a quick "...they wouldn't sit you can do nitrous next time." First problem, is your suggestion should not be to drug a child for a procedure that should not need it and put extra costs on the parents. Second, why did you not come get us? we were right there!!!! Now, I can't even get my daughters to go into a dental office without them sobbing and saying, "I don't want to be held down." A child should never be held down to receive care unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. Enamel coating does not fall under that necessity. A parent should have 1000% been involved to help mitigate the situation As a parent who trusted a facility to take my children for dental procedures alone, I cannot express how betrayed I feel. This has caused medical trauma and is now affecting our ability to get appropriate care for my daughters because of the lack of respect and empathy exemplified by this office. This is not solely on the doctor, but the assistants around him as well. You need to be better. Two children are struggling now at not only the dentist but other offices because of the care they received here.

This was early and post fall. I complained her teeth didn't look smooth, like surface chip or enamel issue. I wasn't given anything to help her enamel and I later learned there are things to help if the child's enamel isn't showing up as it should. At that time she was not drinking juice at all, never had any dyes in her drinks. The front teeth continue to be a concern and I just feel unheard. Additionally I do not like where for treatments kids are separated from their parents... KIDS. It makes me uncomfortable and like I can't protect my child.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I hope everyone reads this before considering this office. My…read morefamily's ordeal began last year when my 6-year-old's regular dentist found several cavities and referred us to a pediatric dentist in Greenwood, IN. They never answered my calls, so I searched for a pediatric dentist with immediate availability and found Weddell Pediatric Dentistry. They had immediate availability which made me happy, since I didn't want my daughters' teeth to get any worse. The office looked clean and professional, and my daughter, who has been going to the dentist since age 2, felt comfortable. Dr. Nicole Weddell diagnosed her with needing crowns and spacers and scheduled surgery at IU Health in Carmel. The surgery went well, but Dr. Weddell made a presumptuous and possibly racist comment about not feeding my daughter McDonald's afterward, which I let slide. At a follow-up visit, the office was packed, and the staff were rude. Dr. Weddell spent only a few minutes with us, quickly changing her assessment from "watching" a molar to diagnosing tooth decay. They scheduled a treatment a week later and this is when the mentioning of using laughing gas for the first time. I was nervous but agreed to it. When I asked to accompany my daughter to the procedure room, the dental assistant refused, citing their protocol. "They don't usually let parents into the procedure rooms." Which I think is completely inappropriate given the fact that they are working on minors. Dr. Weddell came in with a translator, which was unnecessary since we always communicated in English. She became defensive, suggesting I didn't trust her with my child's care, which almost felt like gaslighting to me and told me to find another dentist if I didn't like their procedures. Then stormed out of the room. I decided to leave, and the translator apologized on behalf of the doctor, which seemed inappropriate. And quiet frankly I don't think Dr. Nicole has ever been confronted or questioned about her protocols, procedures or diagnoses. From the times I have gone into this office, I dare say that the majority of the patient population are Hispanic or Spanish speaking individuals and people of color. I can see why no one would ever question her. This experience left me questioning Dr. Nicole Weddell's professionalism and the office's protocols. Makes me wonder what sort of things they are doing in these procedure rooms that they find that "kids do better without the parents present." I strongly advise looking elsewhere for pediatric dental care.

I was a little worried coming here because of some of the negative reviews, but my experience was…read morevery positive. They were able to fit all four of my children into one appointment. I understand it's stressful to have to wait, but I don't mind waiting an extra 15 or 20 minutes past my appointment time. It's a pediatric dentist. Pediatric. Meaning working with children. Having worked with children in an appointment setting before I know kids don't believe in schedules. And frankly, I'd rather our dentist take their time when working on my kids instead of grinding it out just to fill up slots. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and efficient. My only two complaints are this: your forms are super tiny and while I appreciate the conservation of resources as much as the next person, it would be nice to see some tablets or something. It was a little difficult to fit all my information, even writing small. My other complaint is that the office didn't feel very clean. It didn't look dirty, it just had a strange smell and the building entrance WAS unclean, so that first impression really stuck with me.

Especially since anytime needles are involved I have a tendency to pass out. I have always had great dentists and I think that is part of why I have enjoyed going to the dentist, but at Mass Ave Family Dentistry you are not just getting a fantastic dentist--you are also getting a great team that works well together. Once I informed the dental hygienist, Amanda that I could pass out I was amazed at the extra steps that they took to ensure for both my safety and comfort. Shannon, who was shadowing for the day, and Amanda both did a fantastic job of keeping me talking and making sure that I was feeling ok. Dr.So and Amanda did an amazing job on my filling, it is not noticeable at all and has not changed my bite or smile. I also needed to get part of my permanent retainer fixed and I appreciated that Dr.So and the receptionists let me know that it would likely be cheaper to get it done at my orthodontist's. I think it says a lot about the quality of healthcare professionals when a healthcare office lets you know that there might be cheaper alternatives for the same work! In the end, I decided to get my retainer fixed by Dr.So and Amanda instead of traveling to get it fixed at my orthodontist's office. My retainer has never felt so unnoticeable, once again I really cannot say how amazing the work they did for me was!
