Love, love, love this place! It was recommended by our Airbnb host and he did not disappoint. The…read morehours are weird if you're not familiar with Italy. They have a seista time, meaning they are closed during the afternoon until 1930. Just make sure you take a look at the hours before heading there and do RSVP just in case. It's not big, but has decent amount of tables. It's located in an alley next to a parking lot. Very convenient! Everybody was so friendly and you can tell they're passionate in what they're doing. I loved our chef-waitress that took our order. I wasn't sure if the Semolina Fricelli dish would be too little or too much, so when I asked her using hand language....she responded with her eyes. It grew big and then bigger lol! She meant it'll be enough for me, probably more than enough! They started off with a complimentary appetizers while we took our time with the menu. Well, we were kind of waiting on them to take the order but we're in Italy, so it's Italian time. It was some sort of bruschetta and it was delicious. Anxiously waiting for our meals, we ordered an Aubergine pie stuffed with scamorza cheese on fresh tomato and basil veloute. It looked like an upside down pie, but it was fantastic! Me and my friend both said we could have 5 more of those. After that, they left us a dish of what looked like Honey Dew melons. While it may looked like it, it wasn't. It tasted like a cucumber, but less watery? If that make sense. We come to the conclusion that it's to cleanse our palette for our main meal. Every table had a bowl of it. Finally, our Semolina Fricelli and my friend's Spaghettone. Absolute divine. Wow, I cannot commend enough about this place! The environment, the staff, the food, the company, and the vibe was just uplifting. I'm glad we didn't ordered anymore, because I barely finished my plate. My friend had to take some to go. No matter how full we are, we still have space for some Tiramisu. Will definitely come back here whenever we come back to Locorotondo! Cin Cin!

My three companions enjoyed their meals but I personally made a bad choice from my own perspective not based on the food. Wine list excellent. Check the eclectic menu before going and consider a reservation unless you go early. Bina is in the top three locally by all accounts.

You know how you get into a routine when you are at home of going to the same places over and over…read moreagain. We are like that a little bit when we travel, and Bari is no different. We have found one place in particular that we've been to for lunch or dinner six times in the 11 days we've been here. Not last night, and boy are we glad we went to La Cecchina, it was possibly the best meal we have had here in Italy. We heard it was a busy place so we got there a couple of minutes prior to them opening, and we were already third in the queue. By 8:30 the place was jammed. After finishing our dinner and leaving at 10:20 we knew why the place is busy. Our opening dish is one we've had before, Orecchiette al ragu con bracioletta which is the famous local pasta with braised meat in a ragu sauce which was outstanding. The chew of the pasta coupled with the rich sauce and the braised beef was outstanding. They did bring us the wrong first, initially they set down Misto Frito which looked outstanding and has us planning another trip to try that. No easy task to get the lovely K to try fish, especially away from home, so dinner was already a win in my mind. The Secondi we chose was Filetto de Maialino con fiche secchi, vincotto e gelato al parmigiana. Pretty wordy stuff for pork tenderloin with figs and a parmigiana gelato. The combination of all the contents of the dish was absolutely amazing. It's something we will try to copy when we get home, but I doubt we'll do it justice. The figsthemselves along with the Demi glacé, sage and the gelato were unbelievably good together along with perfectly cooked pork. Good thing we didn't discover the place the first night we got here, we would have missed out on so many other outstanding places. One of my workmates said the food on this side of Italy wasn't up to snuff compared to the west coast. I'd have to respectfully disagree, the food in Bari and Lecce have been amazingly fantastic.
