I've had multiple disappointing experiences with this doctor. Initially, they sold me on a $200 A…read moreto Z blood test that turned out to be incomplete, missing crucial tests. The office visit cost me an additional $200, but that wasn't the main issue.
Here are the three major problems:
Pricing Inconsistency: When I inquired about a new office visit for my back pain, the assistant provided incorrect pricing, she told me $150 for a follow-up, but after mentioning my recent $400 payment and planning to pay $100 in cash, she agreed to $100 after talking to the doctor, but I was charged $150 after the visit, claiming the doctor decided on the amount. Unethical and erodes trust.
Lack of Focus: During my 10-minute office visit, the doctor was constantly on and off the phone. This lack of focus raises concerns about their care and competence, not to mention it's simply annoying and disrespectful.
Misdiagnosis and Wasted Money: Despite my clear description of my excruciating mid-back pain, starting when I sit and radiating to the front rib cage, and my demand on an MRI prescription on my back, the doctor insisted it could be muscle or a kidney stone. He prescribed a muscle relaxant and claimed the pain would go away in 48 hours, suggesting a CT scan. I insisted on doing it with contrast, but he said it was not needed. The results lacked clarity due to the absence of contrast, wasn't able to see organ details but rejected kidney stone, costing me $450 out of pocket. This lack of proper diagnosis and wasted money was frustrating.
Additionally, when I asked about my road trip plans, the doctor's response lacked medical knowledge and common sense, suggesting it's okay, while one must not do anything that initiates pain in any orthopedic issue driving is sitting and sitting pressure the nerve.
In the end, pushing for an MRI cost me another $550, confirming a 2.8mm disc bulge, I was right.
Worst of all the doctor's lack of guidance on specialists, skeptical about me seeing an orthopedic or neurologist, and asking me to call him back, while it was a nightmare to call as the assistant put me on hold for 20 minutes and then asked to call the next day. I realized they wanted another $150, and my lower back pain experience guided me that I needed to see a pain management doctor or chiro.
I abandoned calling them and paid a third visit, waisting another $150, and decided to go to see the pain management doctor that I saw three years ago, who charged me only $60 for a follow-up and $60 for a cortisone shot $120 for superior service, and pain gone two weeks later. He also send me to PT. Not neurology like Dr Aziz wanted.
The ethical and professional pain management MD, who they call to follow on me not me left hanging on phone for 20 minutes, its a contrasts sharply with the money-focused approach of the doctor Aziz, who wasted my money on useless tests and visits without providing any helpful assistance. A complete waste of time and resources.
The recap is, that Dr. Aziz kept me in excruciating pain for three weeks, nearly damaging my liver with ineffective pain relievers like Tylenol Codeine and Ibuprofen 600. In summary, this doctor is a complete waste of time and money.
