The people here make you feel like you belong, even if you're not a member. A couple years ago my in laws were eating at the member guest and had such a great dinner they suggested my wife and I take a closer look for our wedding. We looked at the space and tasted the food and booked it. Our wedding? People won't stop talking about how great of an experience O'Bannon provided them. The food was excellent and the welcoming staff was even better. If you want a laid back club with great golf, staff, food and members then this club is a no-brainer.

Course was in awful condition. Hardly any good turf anywhere. The greens were all burnt up, very…read morelittle green space on them, and weeds growing through. "I said to our group, this is like playing in the Old Tom Morris days" before modern mowing equipment and smooth greens. Fairways had lots of crabgrass but very little desirable turf. Rough was just as bad, as was the driving range. Traps looked terrible but fortunately we were never in one. We played 18 holes from the blue tees which were actually a little better than the others, but still horrendous. The ponds had enough scum on them it looked like you could walk across them. It was almost 90 degrees with blazing sun in mid-August and no water fountains or coolers anywhere on the course. If I had known, I would have packed more water. The golf carts are nice, looking new and electric powered. The cheeseburgers were good, too. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Pulling into the parking lot wasn't a whole lot to look at and quite…read morefrankly I was afraid I was making a mistake, but the employees are SO friendly and they have a cat that would roam the parking lot that would happily approach golfers who were moving their bags from their cars to the carts. He even rode the cart with us to my car! The carts are VERY nice and offer a lot, while we were there the course was pretty beat up, but it was late in the day and it had just stormed the pretty bad the day before so I'm not going to account for the damage yet. The course is very hilly and just when you think you've hit the bottom it just keeps going. After a certain point it didn't even feel like I was in Ohio. Such a beautiful course and plenty of water, bunkers, hills and tree lines that shouldn't be an issue, but can definitely throw your game off if you aren't careful. This course is tied for my favorite course currently, I'm so 100% coming back because it was shockingly incredible.

After 5 minutes SonJa…read moreIM was launching balls across the green and most of the customers couldn't chip because Sonja continued to chip his balls from one side of the green to the other. We moved to the other flag and so did SonJa. I asked Sonja if he owned the green and his reply was he didn't understand what I was saying?? I said are you allowed to chip balls from one side to another when paying customers are trying to chip. Again he pretended like he didn't know what I was talking about. I told him I've seen him there before and he is the reason I won't be returning and his reply was " This course is a public course",, "Good Don't come back"! I reported this to the Starter. When I finished playing 18, Sonja was giving instructions to his friend. I asked him if he was charging his friend? No answer because if he was he would have to pay the course for using it to make money. Lastly, I'm sure Glenview knows this goes on and they continue to let Sonja launch ball across the the practice green plus the divots in the rough, divots on the green and the harassment the paying customers have to endure Glenview is scared to say anything to him. I do enjoy the course, golfers, employees and the cost but Sonja is out of hand. There are many courses that are just as nice with basic RULES and you don't have to put up with an Idiot like Sonja. Don't forget you Helmet!

Get to golf course & there's a little bit of business going on - others like me taking advantage of a nice day in winter month. I tell the man at desk I would like to walk 9. He asks if I made a tee time. I say 'no' to which he replies "I can get you in with a two-some at 2:15." It's 1:20 right now. I tell him I would like to play now on my own. He pretty much said that's not doable. I leave looking over at a wide open hole #1 / 2 / 3 on the East course. I could have EASILY walked right on there without any issue.

We got invited to play a couple times (full disclosure for the Middle Age Man Band, www.mamband.com) and it was a blast! The friendly folks at Fernbank make it a pleasure to play, and the food and drinks flow all night! You gotta check out the schedule for the summer and stop out and enjoy live music on the lawn!

No one told me when I checked in there was a scramble event on the course. I walked in from hole #3 and asked why I was teed off in the middle of a scramble and was told the starter should have said something...which he didn't. I've played countless rounds on Cincinnati city courses and this is the first time it was a disappointment. Just tell me when I check in the situation before I go out on the course and get disappointed!

Good selection of beers. Sturdy outdoor picnic tables, some outside and a bunch in an open air covered space in case the weather is threatening. The pricing for mini golf was really good better than anywhere else - unlimited and two different 18-hole courses (I will say the courses itself could use an upgrade - new paint or adding some objects to the course to make the established holes a bit more challenging. We paid 9 dollars per person. The driving range was also pretty cheap for buckets of balls - it would be a fun afternoon to bring the dads for driving range, the kids for mini golf and the moms can eat food and hang or enjoy the range as well. The food looked good, but we did not partake - the drinks were decently well priced - a can of beer 3.50 - a sway was 6 bucks. They have free concerts every now and then at their art installation, which is pretty cool, I also think it's cool how they do 5 buck Mondays. The staff was nice enough, my only complaint is the grass was a little overgrown, so we got ate up with chiggers and skeeters.
