We drove from Franklin NC to King Ford in…read moreMurphy NC to look at some vehicles they had listed that my wife had spoken to the internet sales (Manager?) Jacob Fulcher. We looked at a number of vehicles and expressed some interest in some but were out of our price range. We were intending to go to other locations in town that we also saw some internet listings that we were interested in. Jacob kept pushing that we should choose a vehicle and we could work on price as the owner was on site. He also spoke incessantly about how their business was not like others as they did not try to sell you all sorts of warranty plans as theirs were included and some of the reason that their prices were higher. He also admitted that larger areas had higher inventory availability which also contributed to their higher prices. He continued to boast about the ability to work on price and repeatedly suggested that we test drive some vehicles. We then narrowed it down to three vehicles all of which were still out of our price range. We asked what the best price would be on each of these vehicles but he insisted we choose one vehicle for him to go to the owner with, so we chose the lowest priced one. We told him what we would be willing to pay (still out of our pricing comfort zone) and he came back from the owner (supposedly) with an affirmative. They had also told us that there was financing through Ford for 4.95% (i believe). We agreed and he then went home as it was late in the day and he handed us to Finance. That is where everything imploded. The first thing he did was try to sell us a protection plan which the cheapest was $2300, and the interest rate was in the 7.49 range. When we indicated that we were anticipating an included warranty plan and a 4.95 interest rate, he indicated that that was for their Ford Certified vehicles only we were taken aback. Strangely enough, we were still financed through Ford credit as this vehicle was a 2019 Lincoln MKC. At no time when we were discussing with Jason, the pros and cons of the tree narrowed choices, we discussed model years, features, mileage etc. At no point did he suggest that there would be any difference in warranty or financing. My disappointment was that we decided to proceed with the transaction mostly because we were worn down. During the negotiation he acted like he was our best friend and when i called back the following day, he was totally different. He suggested that it was our fault because we initially narrowed it to three possibilities and not just one. He then became very defensive and borderline rude. Run Far away from these people.

I was told the replacement transmission they received was defective, and Ford is requiring them to remove it and tear it down again. During this time, I asked King Ford if they could provide a loaner or offer any assistance with a rental, but nothing was offered. It's disappointing, because the level of care seems to end once the sale is complete. The service experience has not reflected the "royal treatment" they advertise, especially when customers need support the most. Especially since I have been a loyal customer for years.
