    Oil they said they changed

If I could give negative ratings I would. I live in CT and bought a preowned Excursion from King Ford. I flew down and completed all the paperwork with 30 minutes. Prior to getting to Murphy, NC I had asked that the oil and filter be changed and was told that it would be and that King Ford would give it a clean bill of health prior to me driving 800 miles home. King Ford sold me a preowned Ford Warranty for $2900. Ford Motor Company voided this warranty because King should not have offered such protection on a pre owned vehicle older that 2014 or such. When I was leaving the lot the Excursion would not accelerate at all and made a strange sound. I immediately did a U turn and returned to the dealership. At this stage I had driven the vehicle less than 1/4 mile. When I told king Ford of this issue they introduced me to the Service Manage who told me that it was "normal" for diesels to lack power and that the sounds I heard were from the turbo, which was also normal. They explained that because I did not own a diesel before that it was ok for me not to be used to the poor acceleration and noises. Not knowing any better, and assuming that King Ford would not let me drive 800 miles in a bad SUV I left. When i got home to Connecticut I had to immediately take the vehicle to a garage because of the issues. Thinking that I had a warranty, the one King Ford sold me, I went to get the issues fixed. Turns out that my warranty had not been entered into the Ford system as it was voided. It turns out that King Ford sold me a preowned Ford Warranty for $2900 which they were not supposed to do! Ford Motor Company voided this warranty because King should not have offered such protection on a pre owned vehicle older that 2014 or such. The issues found with my vehicle were: 1. Turbo vein(s) seized 2. 1, or more, injectors gummed up 3. Fuel Injection Control Module voltage erratic 4. Both tail gate struts failed 5. 1/4 inch water in rear turn signal 6. Reverse sensors inoperative 7. Oil and oil filter had not been changed (photos of oil and filter attached) I contacted King Ford and was told that the vehicle ran fine when "Curtis King" drove it so that was that. I was told that the vehicle was sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" and basically buyer beware. While I accept the minor issues of water in tail light, tailgate struts not working as well as the reverse sensors being inoperative, I cannot comprehend why they would allow a vehicle to go off their lot with the another issues, especially after I brought the vehicle back to them immediately. And what makes it worse is that the Service Manager convinced me that the problem accelerating (which is sticking turbo veins) is normal and that I was ok to drive 800 miles!!! I have tried to get king Ford to pay for the turbo to be repaired, as it was an issue when I left, I have asked for some sign that they take some responsibility for selling this vehicle in this condition to me. Something to show as a goodwill gesture but they have just put me on the long finger and explained away all the issues as if they were my fault. Shame on King Ford *** Photos are of the black oil and filthy filter removed from my vehicle after King Ford told me both had been changed........

My new 2018 Ford Edge with hideous front license plate bracket

It doesn't surprise me to see the poor reviews for this dealer. I didn't buy my new vehicle from this dealer, but the vehicle I recently purchased came from their inventory. When I received my new vehicle, it came with a front license plate bracket that was installed crooked using pop rivets by King Ford. I can't tell you how upset I am that they took it upon themselves to drill holes in my brand new bumper and install this ugly piece of plastic! I called King Ford and spoke to the sales manager, Curtis King. He told me that he installs front license plate brackets on all of the vehicles on his lot and that I would have to work with my dealer to resolve the issue. Apparently Mr. King has never seen a car commercial on TV. None of those cars have front license plates. Maybe Mr. King is new to the Carolinas and does not realize these states only issue one license plate and it goes on the back of the car. Nonetheless, he pays out labor dollars to an employee so that he can deface brand new vehicles. Not smart; and people who aren't smart don't deserve my business or anybody else's business who expect to get the new, undamaged vehicle they paid for. ***UPDATE*** Here is a picture of the front bumper of my new Edge after drilling out the pop rivets that held on the front license plate bracket. As you can see, there are actually 3 holes instead of 2 holes like you would expect. (To say that I am livid would be the understatement of the century!). Apparently, the King Ford "technician" mis-measured the distance between the holes on the brand had to drill a third hole to get the bracket to line up. In a conversation with Curtis King, he told me that the front bumper has "dimples" that locate where the holes need to be drilled. Apparently Mr. King has never actually looked at the front bumper of a 2018 Ford Edge. There are no such dimples! Apparently Mr. King has never looked at the Ford website, or any other car manufacturer's website. Surprise! No front license plates or brackets anywhere! I understand Mr. King's ego is so big that "every vehicle on his lot HAS to have a front license plate bracket with his dealership tag on it", but perhaps, in the future, he would consider using heavy duty double-sided tape. That way, his ego would still be satisfied and his customers wouldn't have to suffer with a damaged front bumper on their brand new cars.

My wife went there to check it out and told the sales guy what her price range Was and he said they show cars based on payment and what you can afford, not by how much you want to spend. Kept trying to steer her to higher priced cars than she wanted and called her low miles 2013 escape junk. This is the stereotypical car sales people depicted on tv and movies ignoring what you want and insisting on up selling. Ended up buying a 2020 escape at North Georgia Ford with no pressure and a pleasant experience. Bought with trade in and cash, no financing.

    My new ride!
